August is GIVING this year! Between this, Only Friends, and Laws of Attraction I am losing my mind.

I'm also really enjoying Hidden Agenda too so the weekend is just gonna be full of good things. :D

I think that I will like it a lot. Although I am a little worried they're gonna kill someone off, and that it will be someone I really really like, haha. But other than death I think just about any other outcome will be fine with me so long as it feels earned (and again, I know Jojo didn't write the script but his involvement makes me feel like I won't be disappointed)

I liked Enchante a lot, but I couldn't finish ABAAB. I'm willing to see what happens here, I just would like to be interested in following along with the main character and currently...well. You know. :D

We'll see what they do with Mew. I'm not a huge fan of manic pixie dream nerd types that everyone is inexplicably in love with (Theo in Enchante was very trying for me for this reason right up until the reveals and then it was a lot better, but I did like Force and Book's chemistry fwiw). Considering who is behind the helm here...I have faith Mew will wind up being a lot different than expected.

If he really is a manic pixie dream nerd...I will get through it.

I do hope there's some growth here, but you never know. Growing out of being a bunch of messy jerks might not be what they're going for in this one. Who knows. I've seen stuff from interviews but that was all before they'd even started workshopping, so it's all very nebulous to me. I doubt we'll get an unambiguous happy ending though. Good I say, so long as it's done well. :)

Oh it's all just speculation. I will say though that while I'd have loved more time with my favorite couple in The Warp Effect (NimMollie my darlings), I still think that they got a reasonable amount of screen time. Then again I don't know how...couply we can expect this to be, really. I feel like who people end up with romantically might be incidental. Sure they'll bait us (not in a bad way) with couples in the trailer, but we might do well to expect that that's more an afterthought to the rest - friendship, sexuality, betrayal...

Keep in mind all of this is just spitballing though! There's no way to tell really until we see it.

Honestly after the trailer RaySand interests me less than Boston and literally everyone. I'm not invested in the couples at all really after that trailer, but I am invested in many of the different relationships. I have a feeling Sand will be my fave so I'm most interesting in how he intersects with the others aside from Ray, too. Especially Nick and Top. I hope they all make out about whatever it is between them. I mean, I don't *expect* they will, it's GMMTV, but I *hope*.

And I have a SandMew friendship agenda that may never be realized, but I figure I'm gonna put it into the universe anyway.

I just think that Sand and Ray are the most dramatic so they threw them out there for the effect.

My guess is that Mew and Top (and the MewTopBostonRay mess, naturally) will get the most screen time and the other two will be more like, for example, one of the people in The Warp Effect that weren't heavily related to Alex.

So basically the farther removed they our from our MC Mew, the less time they'll get. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a lot of the RaySand stuff already, minus some in between moments to connect it.

I wish that they would have given us more Mew. He's our POV character and I'm about as invested in him right now as I would be in a block of wood. Pretty wood, but still wood.

I am sure that will change - I trust Jojo as a director and I just looked up the screenwriter and he worked on Moonlight Chicken, which is maybe my favorite Thai drama (if not favorite drama) of 2023 so far, so I'm feeling more confident.

The scriptwriter I'm a little more nervous about only because I haven't seen anything he's been a part of. Just the unknown of it.

I'm hoping it's a good time regardless of what happens. I still trust Jojo and trust these actors to give their best, so. Not worried yet. :)

Well a trailer is just to entice - that's why I think so many dramatic scenes were shoved in right on top of each other. That's also why I think Ray and Sand were so heavily featured - they're the most dramatic of the lot, for sure. 😂

ETA: Thinking about it I will say I would LOVE it to be Ray because I've been wanting a Khaotung & Neo pair up since Tonhon Chonlatee refused to give it to me, but I don't think it is - no earring *shrug* he could take it out I guess but I doubt it.

That said, you can want max messiness and still want a good (for whatever definition fits) ending. The two things don't have to be at odds.

Book really is very pretty, so I get it. That's my whole First issue, lol. I just like his face. It's a good face. I want that face to have good things. Hopefully he eventually gets them here.
