eh NRTA are made up of people too and what they feel is OK doesn't mean that other people will feel it's OK too. not to mention, they have made mistakes before (see go go squid scandal). other dramas don't get as much attention as ruyi or TLB.

i think it works well here because zls is a tiny lil girl next to lyn who is a super giant which fits with the trope too. leyan is also someone who's not physically strong or capable like changge, however, she was able to conquer and change someone who hates everyone (besides his dad). with a'sun and changge, some people may not find it as interesting because she's so capable, it's only inevitable that he (and other guys) would fall for her.

OK although this is true, it has nothing to do with the rating of TLB. luhan's dramas also had very, very low rating (see shanghai fortress or sweet combat, both were around 2 when it came out).

that disclaimer doesn't work here, history is really important in China, it's why the NRTA exists . TLB isn't the first, legend of ruyi was also heavily criticized because it was a different take on history than what people were taught.

it's important because although it is a fictional story, there are real historical events and people as the background.

i think you underestimate how popular the good girl change bad guy trope is. it's in every fandom and it's very, very popular.

tbh i feel most actors probably don't want to do 10c dramas, has nothing to do with their costars but most are just not good. that's why they rely on liuliangs to carry their dramas.

haha i like the politics, it's interesting to me. ;) that's what i heard as well, that she signed many dramas with them in exchange for who gets the world with yy. so 10c is gonna try their best to turn her into a liuliang like dilraba so they can actually profit from those dramas.

he wasn't pressured, but the rumor is that he was promised a big IP project in exchange for doing the drama. however, 10c went back on their word and gave him the project with jbr which he refused to sign. 10c was angry and banned him from everything so he was forced to take a similar project to make it up to 10c.

the reason why people think he might be pressured is because this is a female centered novel and he usually doesn't go for that. long ballad is diff story because it was a last minute favor to 10c that was supposedly in exchange for a big, male centered IP project.
