I've enjoyed this series so much--I want to find something very similar to watch. I've looked under the recommendations but I'm not sure I'll find anything as good. Anyone got anything they watched which was as good? If so what? ;D
Nevermind. *sigh* It's apparently something that can't be done. MDL doesn't at this time consider "Xianxia" to be an independent Genre of it's own. :'(
Thank you so much for the clarification! :) :) It'll definitely help me a lot as I enjoyed this title so much that I am willing t try to find more of them :) I labeled this as wuxia because when I looked at the Genre it said wuxia (is there a way to change that?)
OMG I'm on ep 20 and I'm already starting to have series ending angst! I know that there's still another 20+ episodes but still!!!
It's soooo good (for me it really started to pick up momentum about ep 11-ish) and I'm just wondering how much I'm missing because I haven't watched much wuxia and don't know if there are clues LOL).
Ok, so after the first bits where it was in "current" time and it goes back the years into the past--does it ever switch back to the current time again?
Well, the first episode is not wow-ing me. I'm glad there are 19 more to go because I hope that somewhere in there it gets some verve, oomph and pacing. Right now it's dragging and I'm struggling to watch it. (which makes me sad because I want to like it!)
I still have some hope! Granted it was the end of December, and if they're in talks it will take a while to actually shoot and then air...but it could still happen :D
I second existingsouls's recommendation of giving hometown cha cha cha another try! (It took me 3 tries to get into it but after that it's a fave).
I'd also like to recommend Under the Queen's Umbrella (it's honestly the most feel-good sageuk/fusion sageuk I've ever run across).
Second to that I'd recommend Mr.Queen (the humor is great though there are some more serious beats that might/might not work for you, but it is so worth the watch!)
Was it a continuity foul-up when they had Ip Bun react to the news about the magistrate/govenor being her uncle?
I remember in the first series (ep.7) Where Im Soo Man was trying to blackmail Physician Gye Ji Han about Ip Bun's parentage (because he wanted the land that the clinic was located on).
And she actually says in it "I know that. My birth father's name was Ahn, was it? Insteadof Gye Ip Bun, does that make me Ahn Ip Bun?" and then she later says "You are threatening him with my birth secret? How old."
And then it comes out that whenever physician Gye gets wasted he tells the story over and over again about what happened, and how she wasn't his etc.
So I guess I'm saying why was she having such an OTT reaction to something that she already knew?
