I thought Tiffany was no longer in SM? She was soloist now. I think she never in the path of actress when she was in SM too. Well, at least her acting was not as bad as Jessica 😂 Your tears fell from the right eye, you wiped it on the left cheek. 😂😂

NGL, it was a bit cringy. But the thing is her role was not that important, in a sense that, she didn't have to have a lot of expression like the main roles did. She was just a secretary who grew up in US. And lowkey, i think, her 'character' was made to be that way. Imo, that is how S.Korean saw Gyeopo (Korean who grew up in US). But I might be wrong, I just guessing.

One thing I noticed from Kdrama. A lot of character like Rachel (Korean who speak foreign language or a foreign character) are so badly written. Their dialogues were cringey. 😂

But Tiffany was fine. Not good, but not that bad. Just overreacting a bit. But it didn't ruin the drama for me.

I have no grudge against Shin Hyun Bin. She did a good job in Hospital Playlist. But oh my god, she has no chemistry at all with Song Joong Ki here. Was it because of her acting? or her character in the drama? Or was it Song Joong Ki's problem? I really do not like their romance storyline at all. It felt forced. Their bad chemistry was even on the news. This became Song Joong Ki's worst drama couple.

Instead, Song Joong Ki has good chemistry with Park Ji Hyun. And their storyline was not even a romance. It was just a slight affection from Mo Hyunmin. A SLIGHT affection. She didn't even fall for him. Mo HyunMin (Park Ji Hyun) was just an ambitious rich woman who wanted power. Jin Do Joon knew that, so he played along with her for a minute. Yet their chemistry was good.

Gosh, I really hope there was no romance at all.
This is just my opinion. If you don't think so, it's fine.

I honestly like the decision to make Grandpa's arc of acknowledging DoJoon's ability in this drama.

While in the webtoon (or novel), the grandpa actually has a bit more feelings for his family. He was not as stone-hearted as in the drama. He was nice to Dojoon from the beginning. The Grandfather realized sooner that DoJoon was the perfect heir for his company. But he didn't name DoJoon as his heir sooner because DoJoon said he didn't want that position. Grandfather was also afraid because he knew his family would do something to DoJoon.

However, when I read that, I honestly felt a bit weird because the thing is Dojoon's small family is a deserter. The Grandfather only 'accepted' Dojoon's parents because Dojoon's older brother existed. But even then, grandfather somehow ignored Dojoon's parents which made Dojoon's aunties become mean to his mother. However, he suddenly became a good grandfather to Dojoon from the beginning of the story (in the webtoon), like giving toys to him and etc. His sudden kindness was a bit weird for me, especially for someone who was stern with his all family members.

While in the Drama, I like that he was a bit more stone-hearted. Because he was the leader and founder of his company. He built his company from scratch. Someone has to be very sly and wicked to build that big company from nothing, especially when he built it in the poor era of his country.

In the drama, he was so partial to his eldest son and grandson. I think it was because his eldest son's family was very obedient to him. He was very well aware that none of his children were as good as he to lead his company. So, I think, it was because of how obedient his eldest son's family was, he was partial to them. At least he could control his eldest son and grandson. Also, another thing, maybe it was because he was an old man who lived in the era the "eldest son" was the true heir of a family.

The marriage of Dojoon's parents was not a marriage approved by the grandfather, and in this drama, Dojoon's father was a bastard. Moreover, even though Dojoon got an education from his grandfather (like tutors and school), Dojoon's didn't live under the grandfather's feet. Dojoon was not brought up by him. Yes, Grandfather taught Dojoon here and there, but it was not as intentional as his sons and grandson. Because of it, even though he acknowledged how smart Dojoon was, he somehow was in denial to consider Dojoon as an heir. The grandfather wanted Dojoon to be a helper in his family, not a leader. Just like what he expected from his son-in-law. He didn't like the idea that the person he never taught properly turned out to be smarter than the people he intentionally trained.

In episode 7, it was clear that even though Grandfather was hurt by Dojoon's "betrayal", he knew deep down what Dojoon's said about the capability of his children was true. But again, he was in denial. Even his close aide was afraid to say that.

but in episode 8, Grandfather's denial was cracked open by Daeyoung's Chairman, his literal nemesis. Someone finally said it in front of his face. I think it was a brilliant idea that put Daeyoung's chairman as the person who said it. Your literal nemesis literally gave a compliment and even got a BIG PROFIT because of the person you didn't want it. This told something. If he wanted his company to be bigger, he has to swallow the bitter pill. And he actually did. His love for his company was bigger than his adoration for his eldest son's family. And actually, this was so in line with his character as a cold and sly businessman. More than the webtoon.

I really like the battle between grandfather and Dojoon. It was who outwitted who. Grandfather felt betrayed, but he did it with a business maneuver. While the eldest grandson was more crooked, and not in a smart way.

I really like this drama. If only there was no romance, it would be better. I really like the Grandfather-Dojoon-Soonyang-family storyline.

The young FL was not like someone from family that involve in court or lawmakers. There was no assertiveness and sharpness in her up until the recent episodes.

She was somehow like a country bumpkin visiting a big city for the first time. Very innocent, kind of clueless yet tacky.

We didnt need her having more whinny awkward forced romance scenes. We just want the confident sly prosecutor came back.

Welp, I thought morally grey, coz I consider grey as bad. Not as bad as psychopaths etc. But yeah they're bad. But they did good too though, they built the economy of the country. 😂 If it was not for their smart and sly brain, their ambition, and pride, S.Korea would be like other developing countries rn.

Lol I understand. I thought about Liu Yifei after watching her in A dream of Splendor. So I was in fever dream. I like Liu Yifei in ADOS because so far I haven't seen actress without annoying whinny cutesy voice, so when I watched Liu Yifei with her soft spoken and deeper voice, I was like "I think Liu Yife might be good". hahahha.

But whoever it is, I just want professional actress and actors, not just some Idols who cannot act. And whoever the director and scriptwriter, they follow to the novel.

But if I could chose, I hope Xiao Zhan could be Xie Jin Xing 😭

Yeah. But I think many people like Hyunmin, more than the FL (well, from what I've seen so far, including me), because her scenes with JDJ were really good, compared to Minyoung. There was sexual tension in their meeting. Very good chemistry. And her scenes with the Oldest cousin are also good. They are all playing games. And it was interesting because their decision would play a bigger part in their life.

While Minyoung was good somehow only when she was the prosecutor Minyoung. But when she was in college, tbh she was pretty annoying (again this is just my opinion). Maybe when she became an intern and built more adult characteristics in her and gave something to the plot rather than solely being a romantic partner in the awkward scene, that would change. Well, it's only 6 ep.

But what I would say, no one really said hyunmin was a good character. We (or I?) like her because she was more interesting for the story than the goody plain whinny Minyoung.

(for this moment, we never knew the future episodes, maybe Minyoung would change to be interesting character.)

This is the plot of the novel. The grandfather in the original plot was not that bad (he was still a bad person to many people, he did a lot of shady things). He loves all of his children and grandchildren, although he did not express it. When he met JDJ first time, the grandfather even gave JDJ a gift. He was disappointed in JDJ's father, but after JDJ's older brother existed, the grandfather was no longer angry. The grandfather even let go JDJ's father to pursue his other career, but the grandfather just would not help him.

The grandfather didn't want the company he built gone after he died. He did prefer the eldest (son or grandson), but if there was someone who was better and smart, it was still possible to change the succession.

JDJ always said he didn't want to take over Sunyang, but the grandfather secretly say to his right hand, if in the future JDJ was still as smart or even sharper than he was now and he was willing to take over the company, the right hand should help JDJ and protect him from Sunyang's family. Because he knew his children. They were just like him. Even though he had prepared to give shares to each member of the family (preparation if he died), he knew his family better. And he couldn't stop that. Lion's cubs are still Lion.

As far as I knew, the grandfather knew about JDJ and Miracle company, and JDJ actually help his grandfather to acquire Hando steel with Grandfather knew Miracle company was JDJ.

The actual villain who killed JDJ is the grandmother. In the novel, she actually did not live in Korea. She lived in Europe. She hated the grandfather over some shady money problem; hated her youngest son because she could not bribe him; and hated JDJ's mother and called her "golddigger". She hated JDJ too bc of his mother. She is really partial to her eldest son and grandson. When the grandfather finally decided to give Sunyang to JDJ, the grandmother killed him bc she couldn't stand JDJ becoming the successor instead of her eldest son.

This is a bit of a plot I understood from reading a webtoon and got spoilers from someone who actually read it.

For how willing he was dealing with corruption case, covering up, helped them cleaned up the mess, being their slaves dealing with many people these guys hate and felt nothing. It is really comforting. He was not innocent either.

Hyunwoo was a walking red flag too. Those guys wefe red flag, then Hyunwoo was red flag dog. He started revenge because he became the scapegoat and died. If he were not dead (and reincarnate) and got raise instead, he didnt care about those people Sunyang's hurt. He was even actually one of people cleaned the dirty shits.

Im not saying she is a good person, but even hyunwoo is not. He acquired Ahnjin and did buy out the workers because his father and mother. If his father didnt get lay off, he probably was not interested. His partner, Sehyun? He was clearly there for profit. Rachel even didnt care about those Ahnjin company workers. All of them are morally grey and shits.

This actually make sense. Yeah, maybe the original author intended to do this. But the scriptwriter did a bad job creating the moment for their loves to bloom, instead they made the scene with Hyunmin really good.

I felt like if the scriptwriter made Minyoung had more composure and act more like an adult. Just like when she was the prosecutor, but maybe more tone down. It would be nice.

I honestly do not want that because, there would be too many differences in their relationship. The two are in the different position. One is in cut-throat business, one is in law.

realistically this is a great relationship for dojoon, for his future business.

But isnt that shady things too in the end? All for profit. I guess there is a little hope in me that I want law inforcement to do the right things and stay true. Though this is just a lite dream of mine. It is open secret that not many of them are good guys.

As if Hyunwoo was not a dickhead? He was literally their slaves. He didnt feel guilty doing the dirty job and clean the dirt Soonyang's family did. He literally helped them. Didnt he say "never ask anything that your superior asked you to do"? He didnt care. He wanted a revenge because he finally became their scapegoat, and died bc of that.

Now all of a sudden people forgot that HyunWoo was a dickhead dog because he now wanted to torndown Sunyang?

Also, his investment, if it was not because his father got lay off and wanting to prevent his mother died, did he actually care for the people? It was because his family suffered.

All of the characters are bad (edited). DoJoon is not an exception. They are all dickhead.

Yoowww.. i agree though this ship would sink eventually. Coz Minyoung is the main girl. Though in novel the romance is practically almost nonexistence. Their relationship is just a couple of sentence. Not much really.

Tbh, somehow I dont feel the chemistry between DoJoon and Minyeong. It felt bland and forced(?). And when DoJoon around her, he was like an uncle coaxed his nephew. Idk.

Instead I felt the sexual tension betweem DoJoon and MoHyunMin. In the current-past timelime, DoJoon and HyunMin only mee
t twice so far, yet everytime they met, its soo tense.. the eyes gaze, the way they talk, stood close to each other.. gosh. HyunMin so so charming and when DoJoon with her, he somehow has that Ceo Guy charm. Gosh so sexy.

I lowkey want DoJoo with HyubMin, but i know this ship sunk eventually, coz the main girl is Minyoung.

But i still hope the drama would more focus on business and his revenge than the romance, bc in the novel the romance practically almost nonexistence.
