it's because numerous big dramas are airing and to be aired right now thats why its dropping. it would have been better if they have drop it last month, now so much drama are competing for the top ranks. I only watched 3 episodes and so far i love it.

the donghua version is not even done yet. their are 3 season of donghua.

Season 1: Is the start where xiao se, lei wujie, wuxin, tang lian, and sikong qianluo meet. And the trio journey to the temple. The golden coffin, and etc.
Season 2: Everything that happen to Xueyue City up until the fight in Lei Clan Fortress.
Season 3: Journey to the immortal Island, and the fight with Immortal Moyi.
Season 4: UPCOMING, this might be everything that happen when xiaose return back to Tianqi.

There is one thing that I hope they don't mess up. Please fix Sikong Qianluo hair, make up, and outfits. Lin Boyang is so pretty, her look in Season 1 didn't do her beauty any justice.😞

The production team, director, and the author are still busy filming The Tale of Dark River. And most of the main leads are currently filming dramas. So the shoting might start early next year.

So the latest update have both good and bad news.

Good news: the permit to film is already approved.
Bad news: Don't know when will start and people said on weibo that the script is still unfinished.
