Disappointing and Dragged Out
I started Destined because of the eye-catching poster on iQIYI — it gave the impression of an intense, emotionally driven historical romance. Unfortunately, the drama didn’t live up to that promise.
By episode 18, I completely lost interest. The story felt slow, drawn out, and lacking in emotional pull. The pacing was uneven, with far too many meandering plotlines and side characters that didn’t add real value. I expected something gripping, but the chemistry between the leads and the actual romantic development just didn’t hook me the way I hoped.
For a drama that visually looks polished, it lacked the narrative depth and momentum to keep me engaged. Honestly, the promotional material was a bit misleading — it made the drama seem much more exciting and dynamic than it actually is.
I can see why some viewers might enjoy the slower, character-driven pacing, but this one wasn’t for me. I dropped it at episode 18 and don’t feel like I missed anything major.
