I was a little scared to watch the finale.. (I feel like I'm often let down in some way or underwhelmed with finales.. so hit or miss for me sometimes) but omg I'm so happy and relieved. It was soooo good. I felt so satisfied! Loved it.
For me one of the biggest issues with the book was how the romance felt very weak. I found all the rituals etc completely fascinating but wanted more out of their relationship. So honestly I'll be pretty satisfied with this if they keep the general story with some changes and just amp up the romance. I'm pretty excited to see what they do 🤞🏼.

This is actually a really common trope in omegaverse. The Alpha hating the smell of Omegas and the Omega who loves them pretending to be a Beta. Usually it’s some type of trauma, doesn’t want to feel forced to be with an Omega or that he actually always loved Gao Tu but always thought he was a Beta (so even more of a reason to reject Omegas).
Alphas don’t HAVE to be with Omegas. Gao Tu is a (pretending to be) Beta pretending to date an Omega (and the only person who is pissed about it is Shen Wen Lang) . So just because Alphas and Omegas are drawn to each other with pheromones they still have the choice to be with others.

There isnt anything wrong with being an Omega and Betas are not seen as better! They are usually not even worth an Alpha or Omega’s time generally. Betas are just regular everyday people.. so they don’t sense or give off pheromones.
Omegas don't usually have as much power as a whole as Alphas and aren't always treated that great. They are seen as weaker and Alphas can often take advantage. Think about the club scene when the drunk alpha is harassing Hua Yong.
The scene when he is a kid really shows how Omegas are often seen.. his mother was an Omega and his father was all “no money. GO sell yourself.. you’re an Omega at least thats good for something.”
He sees Omega as bad bc of his childhood trauma that specially surrounded that and now his love hating omegas (probably has his own trauma or reason around that) just adds to it. So he takes suppressants to hide his pheromones. B/c he has a better chance and doesnt want to be hated if he pretends to be a Beta with someone who hatesssss Omegas
The first ep was a little bit of a struggle just b/c of all of the company and character names.. a lot of backstory... but after watching all 3. Yepppp I'm excited! I'm enjoying watching that alpha getting playing by the Enigma a lot. But honestly I really need more of the other guys soon. I know it's a pretty common trope of “omega pretending to be a beta b/c his alpha love interest hates omegas.. but does he really hate omegas?? (Dun dun we shall see!)”.. but I crave it. I’m really looking forward to a little more of that.

Question.. why would an Omega pretend to be a Beta?
First b/c his mother was trying to protect him and then later in life he continued b/c I'm guessing he fell in love with his boss when they met in university (I think they said that's when they met) and the boss is supposed to hate omegas. So he's hiding that he's the very thing his boss/loveeee hates. I want more of their story!
I'm reading the book now (almost done) and I have to say it's pretty faithful to it! It's so silly and ridiculous... I just keep cackling to myself (while reading AND watching). I just find this show fun. I like to think of it as a steamy slice of life romance haha.
Starting as Sorn teaching his friend's younger brother's inexperienced bestie about sexual intimacy until the inevitable feelings creep in and how they deal with that. It's a straight up romance novel so the plot is gonna be their relationship developing and changing.. pretty much the sole and only focus is gonna be that.
I hope the leads get another series b/c I really enjoyed them. They had lovely chemistry and I think a lot of potential. Overall the series was very hit or miss for me. It got to a point where I started to skip most of the side stories b/c I just didn't care about them anymore. Really enjoyed the main story minus a few things storywise.
The last episode I watched was ep 6 (wanted them to pile up a bit and then dragon age was released.. ek lol so waiting became easier). Now I get to binge! Excited.. and scared. Does it end on a positive note??
