yeah don’t watch it then haha. I’d say she’s rather toxic and the whole series very mediocre.
she wants the kind of relationship where u declare your feelings out loud and talk to each other all the time and tell each other stuff like 'hey i met my ex and im working with her' meanwhile he is the slient, acts of service kinda guy who thinks its not important to tell that he is working with his ex since he does not have any leftover feelings
i don't think miscommunication is not the right word to be used between Gil-Chae and Jang Hyeon. They both have lived different lives and had different ideals. Gil-Chae had a dream wedding and her whole life planned and Jang Hyeon had his mind set on not marrying etc. Obliviously through the end both of their ideals have changed but too much is at stake for both of them. She can't just run away with him and not bother about the consequences, which would hurt her family which she tried so hard to protect. They both didn't get enough time or even the correct environment to trust each other and completely give themselves to each other.

its not toxic in that sense. both of the leads follow different dating styles/have different expectations from relationships and they are not communicating well.
the ex thing is where i think their cultural difference and the newness of their relationship hurts them. from rin's pov he omitted that he was working with his ex, he promised her they don't talk outside of work but then she sees her texting him. these all would be the signs of someone cheating/trying to fool her in korea (technically if taiga did want to two time he could just be doing that). she wants him to draw a bold line between him and his ex and he doesn't see the need to do that since he does not have any feelings for her. rin does not see that putting boundaries like that is not something ppl in japan do. both of them can't see where the other is coming from. they also haven't been together long enough to trust each other (imo)
is it just me or they do change her looks?? like she has slightly curly hair and simple styles but as we move forward her hair becomes straight and has bangs correctly falling on her forehead
the last romance drama i watched i complained abt how kdramas give fls this traumatic/scary experiences which should make them more guarded but instead the fl instantly fall for the ml and jump into relationships with him. here they have done a good job, she is very scared and she knows how someone else can get attached to her and vice versa so she quickly draws the line
i think ppl still haven't realized sarah kim is not a real person, its a persona crafted by our fl to achieve her dreams. no physical documentation of sarah is there so anyone who masters the 'art' of being sarah can be her. that why the show is named the art of sarah not who is sarah
