I am still reading it actually but I have finished the bigger part.... Well clearly the doc is not the murderer but also he never killed anyone mercifully either... Doc and captain got together almost from the first chapter so the main point of the novel was the captains effort to find out if his lover was the murderer or not... The murderer is the director at least that's what is assumed until the chapter I have read... I have two more to finish the novel...

Since they already had intimacy back then and after all this scandal, Ter ( in the present ) was sooo much socked that Hill actually likes him??
