Title Story of Yanxi Palace Spoiler
The finest drama I have seen in a long time. What I really liked about it was how characters evolved. There are multiple villains in the show, but they do all not start out that way. A character who starts out as an opponent of our heroine becomes her closest ally.
To me the main themes of the show were power and survival IE the struggle to get it, and the struggle to hold on to it, If you have power then you have a better chance of surviving.
The lead character is intelligent and resourceful. But by the end of the show i had come to the conclusion that she in her own way was no better than her opponents.
Did she sacrifice love in order to gain power.

Well made, Well acted revenge drama.
Some great action scene scenes.
I guessed the protoganists father had been working undercover, and who his real killer was. So in that sense it was pretty predictible. But that doesn't take away of from the quality of the show.
There is a beautiful love scene between the heroine and the cop who befiends her. How he ended up was a surprise to me. I was also expecting a more tragic ending.

This might be the best acted drama from a young ensemble cast I have seen. I couldn't pick a standout. I remember when I first started watching Korean dramas. some of the acting from the younger members of the cast left a lot to be desired. It was obvious they were there for their prettiness, and not because of any acting ability. But here everyone pulls their weight.
I enjoyed the drama overall. I won't say I was disappointed in the ending, but I guess it would have been nice, if it had been a little less conventional

Once again Kim Sun Ah, demonstrates why she is one of the, if not the most gifted actress working anywhere in this challenging and compelling drama. I say challenging, because it asks the viewer to decide who is right and who is wrong. The performances from the rest of the cast range from excellent (Na young Hee) to adequate (Yeon Je Hyung). As for Cha Hak Yeon, his performance could be seen as either one note or very good, or maybe both. It would be interesting to see him in something else. There are two main stories here, Who is the Vigilante Red Cry, who deals out justice to abusers, or in most cases encourages others to do it, and why does Kim sun ah keep seeing an apparation of a little girl in a green dress. Of course there is a connection of sorts between both. The second mystery regarding the little girl is the more intriguing, even if at one stage the answer is rather obvious.

Terrific fantasy drama. Lots of bloody action, romance, tragedy, some comedy too. There are no great acting performances. But they are serviceable, and the two leads are good together. It's the story or stories that is the main attraction.I took breaks from it at certain points. So maybe I found it overlong, or not always compulsively watch as Korean dramas tend to be. Well I suppose that's because episodes didn't always end in a cliffhanger. I found it was a series I could leave and come back to again. I'm sure there are faults I found in it. Some of the acting might not be up to scratch. Maybe some conversations/speeches went on too long. But whatever the faults were, they were minor, and did not take away from the immense enjoyment of this wonderful series. 10/10

Kingdom Season 1 and 2. 10/10.I am a little bit sorry I started watching this, because it looks like there are going to even more seasons. I just prefer to watch something when it's finished .
Anyway at 10/10. I obviously thought this was excellent. It for me gets little overly melodramatic in the last episode of season 2, but recovers.
This is a hybrid of a korean historical drama, and the zombie genre. It does both well.
How people become zombies is as far as I am aware pretty original.
Acting Wise, the cast are fine.
Ju Ji-hoon and Ryu Seung-ryong were the two standouts for me. I am not sure about
Kim Hye-jun. She probably has the best role in the series so far, but I found it hard to judge how good an actress she is.
Violence wise, If you are a gorehound, you will  be pleased with some moments of the show, but overall I believe you will be disappointed. There are many scenes of zombies converging on one victim, but you generall don't see anything. Sequences of zombies being killed, and blood spurting is rather cartoonish. That's not a complaint just an observation. The show has the familiar korean drama comedic character in the form of Cho Beom-pal played by
Jeon Seok-ho. I would be surpised to find a similar character in The Walking dead.

SPOILERS.
Overall I’m not happy with how this drama ended up.
I thought it was creepy the way he pursued her. If He had any decency, he would have let her go. But I guess it’s not supposed to be realistic.
But that doesn;t mean I have to like it
When I saw the ending, I liked it, because she gets her back on him. But for me, it was the wrong ending.
So I guess what I’m saying, the ending made me smile when watching it.
But I don’t think it should have the kind of ending that made me smile.
does that make sense?

Like others here, I avoided this drama, because of the many bad reviews I had read. But as someone I am close to watched it, I decided to give it a go. Well it isn't going to go in my top ten dramas or even my top 100. But i found it to be a pleasant enough way to spend an hour or two a day. What makes it is the cast, who are all good to on degree or anther . The main storyline isn't that compelling . The storyline I found most interesting was the relationship between the two brothers. Although I did wonder if Choi jin hyuk could play anything but gloomy and pissed off. Music wise Love is the moment did nothing for me, and I found it's constant repetion during a number of episodes somewhat annoying. But I did like the song at over the credits on the website where I watched a number of episodes. It's a fast upbeat number, and it has the line "Come on baby" at or around the beginning. But it's not the same number as played on viki or on the official sbs world channell on youtube.

How come this drama is the first result in the "smart male lead" tag? The male lead was dumb, he and second male…

Finally, after Backflow and The Return of Hwang Geum-bok unfortunately not being subbed, I get to see my favourite actress Shin Da Eun, play the central lead role in this mixture of mystery, drama, and comedy. So the first thing I
will talk about are the performances. Is hers the best?. No, the best performance comes from Son Woo Hyeok. It's a very subtle, but strong performance. But it was really only after his relationship with the title character soured that his acting had any impact on me. Maybe before that, i was more concerned with his dress sense.
I believe Shin Da Eun gave the next best performance. She is particularly good when she is on her own. There is a really nice scene where she starts coughing. I just liked the way she got into bed, and covered herself up. It wasn't very dramatic, and she didn't play it that way. it's a very quit scene. But she plays it beautifully.I also found her crying scenes very well done. She never overdoes it. But early in the drama, I would say her performance was good, but there were only a few times where she got the chance to show how talented she is. The fault I found with her, was that she tends to use her eyes too much at times. Her head also moves too much at times too. But I also wonder if because she is my favourite actress, I was judging her too harshly.
But the first performance that really caught my eye was a delightful comedic one by Han So Hyun. Well at least it was delightful in her attempts to seduce Kim Jung Hyun's character. But that was short lived, and maybe if it went on too long, it might have gotten irritating. well Let's just say, she had her moment in the sun, and grabbed it with both hands. Now the music helped a lot too.
As for the other performances, well nothing really grabbed me. I would say the worst performance to begin with were by Hwang Myung Hwan, and Su Bin. Although maybe they got better as the drama went on.

Maybe i just haven't watched enough of this type of korean drama recently. But I thought this one had enough concidences for a dozen more. But at the same time it was done in such a way as to make it easy to suspend your disbelief. Sometimes a drama can me go "oh, come on, or "Really" But this didn't.
The best part of this drama was the investigation of The Black Rose. I like the way stuff kept being added.
Unless I missed it, two things were never resolved.
(1)The murder of Man soo's father. My initial idea was that The Black Rose was involved, and he insinuated himself into her good books, to start an elaborate plan of vengence.
(2) Man soo said he would explain, why he took so long to reveal the truth. But as far as I'm aware,he never did.
Oh, i liked the kid, as she wsn't overly cute, and her change at the end was a nice touch.
