Taste in men is personal. For me he is very close. But you're welcome to prefer someone else.
But this drama is very "typical", and very cliché. We have watched so many of that kind!

Ji Chang Wook is a very good actor. He's also probably the most good-looking man in the world. I love him. But is he stupid? How can he, for the last decade (basically after Suspicious Partner), year after year, choose the lamest projects to participate in? (With the esception of If You Wish Upon Me maybe the decent but not memorable Welcome to Samdal-ri).

These things DID make artists lose their jobs. For instance the ones who painstakingly designed animation frames.
(Although I read yesterday that Disney is considering to incorporate 2D handmade designs in its new feature).
Same as with the industrial revolution. It polluted the planet undoubtingly, and many things done by hands, like weaving, were now done by machines.
"Can't stop it" isn't an argument. It's just a statement based on history. And, again, I'm not saying I necessarily like it.
All this doesn't mean it's appropriate for you to have this snarky tone towards me. Can't you have a civil conversation with someone you disagree with?

Bridgerton was crap.

At Walt Disney's time, people were drawing and colouring frame by frame, and the drawings based on films of real actors playing the roles. And in the first Planet of the Apes there were real humans under the ape costume. Even we 'who are not of the industry' know that. And then there were remotely controlled dolls. And then CGI. And then... With every advance of technology, so many jobs were lost. I suppose those people who became reduntant were vocally against the change every single time.
There's no need to be angry. If you ask me, I personally love those old Disney creations done by hand, those I grew up with; today's seem a bit cold compared to them, they lack personality, sometimes they feel cookie-cutter. But what I'm saying is that you can't stop it. You cannot stop a producer from adopting the easiest, quickest and cheapest for him method, if the public likes it.
Do you see the public boycotting those films or series or games?

So you wanted them to train a real bird to do all these moves and expressions?

I tried to excuse the ghastly combination by giving a possible reason for only one particular character, but immediately after I wrote that this doesn't explain all the rest of the costumes.

Stage plays also have to pay attention to sets and costumes, and lighting, and everything else. Of course if they are cheap ones, often those made for children they tend to be more messy because they assume that children won't judge, they just want to see the bright colours, the gold and other bling-bling.

Where did you see a lack of manners? I am curious to know what made you say that.

Where is "every little thing" in what I wrote? I focused on only one department, because I have only watched two episodes and am still waiting to see how I like the drama generally. And now, in a drama of this genre, the costuming department is not a "little thing" but a great part of its appeal (it's surely not the screenplay).

These must be the worst costumes in drama history. A mish-mash of various Western periods mixed without rhyme or reason, in clashing colours.
When I think of the green dress of the villain lady paired with the blue necklace (in ep.1) I cringe! I mean come on, my daughter when she was 10 knew better while choosing matching bangles and earrings for her outfits! Of course in that particular case they may have wanted to portray a tasteless woman. But what about all the other palace ladies, who were total eyesores?
The Empress is dressed quite lavishly, her outfits are pretty, but also without any regard for appropriateness, as she's dressed in evening wear even when in her quarters during the morning. It's obvious that whoever made this doesn't even know how rich and noble people live and dress except from cheap fairy tale book illustrations.
Do they think that because it's a fantasy outside of any particular time or place, one can just go to a wardrobe and pick with eyes closed whatever is on the rack? The costumer never heard of things like the overall aesthetic vision of a story in a movie? Other shows of the same style, like Eternal Monarch, the Last Empress and Perfect Crown were a lot better in that department.

To give you an example.
Our dear Cha Eun Woo was absolutely terrible in his first dramas as a male lead. From "A Good Day to be a Dog" onwards he has shown he has matured as an actor, and now he's pretty good I would say, maybe not among the top actors but absolutely decent. However, his first dramas will still be there to embarass him.
Same for Jung Yonghwa. He has become good too - although sadly we don't see him a lot - but in "You're beautiful" and "Heartstrings" he was very wooden.
Whereas others are naturals, like Junho or Eric others gained experience from minor roles before their breakthrough, like Choi Siwon and Lee Jong Suk.

It's also "elsewhere".

They should go to a drama school before starting to take on acting roles, especially leading ones. Or, if they don't have the time for full 3 years of drama school, then some private acting lessons, and start with small roles for a few years, and gradually given more and more important ones before getting the responsability of a leading part.
Why would we have to watch them learn at our expense and at the drama's expense?

Please enlighten me. From reading the synopsis and comments it seems as if it's one of those old-fashioned dramas like Itazura na Kiss where the plain-looking but bubbly, innocent, clingy child-like female with a 5-year-old's voice relentlessly pursues the introverted, outwardly cold but inwardly nice handsome guy, making a total fool of herself and an embarrassment for all women until she wins him over, as a proof that guys still like those brainless clutzes - the drama encouraging female viewers to think that if they behave like that they can also snag their dream man. In the meanwhile, we see the characters from high school to their adult days.
So, like dozens of other dramas from China, Korea and Japan we have already watched in the past 15 years or so.
Right? Because I was about to start, but reading those things I think it may not be my cup of tea. (In case you didn't notice, I hate the Itazura na Kiss style female leads with a passion and I hoped that trope was abandoned).

What about all those Korean actors going to a drama school and learning their craft BEFORE getting leading roles? Or starting with small roles until they get more confident, as was the case in the past? Now they immediately give them ML's friend, then 2nd lead (or even directly 2nd lead as their very first project), and their next role is first lead. Before they have honed their skills. So they have to learn under our eyes, partly ruining the drama. Doesn't make any sense. Maybe the fault is not with the actors themselves but in the agencies and production companies, but it's counterproductive in my opinion.
