On a side note: MDL really needs to fix the rating system bugs! The main reason people come to this site is to look at the ratings and reviews, and we keep seeing major bugs in its processing. Even TKEM had problems with the ratings being stuck, BR had its ratings stuck at 1.0 and 5.0.... It needs to be fixed.
Since you start a discussion, you should be prepared to hear the other side of the argument. I don't think anyone…
Alright, i guess i spoke for others I'm sorry. But thy really can't make you stop having your thoughts or stop you from expressing them.... also you will hear rebuttals from the other side no matter which debate it is.
Lets agree to keep posting our views when we feel like. I do find substance in all the criticism that has been raised, maybe we'll just keep debating this whole thing throughout.
Can people stop trying to muzzle the thoughts of people? People have the right to express positive and negative…
Since you start a discussion, you should be prepared to hear the other side of the argument. I don't think anyone has said that you are not allowed to leave negative comments. We are expressing our views on this debate. Since you are allowed to comment about the problems, other people are allowed to say why they don't think the controversy is undeserved. No one can or will "muzzle your voice".
Anyways I'm not a fan of the drama yet, I found it chaotic and still need time to see if I like it. Its not a big deal. Its a drama. Calm down.
Some morale for this comment section: Something I have learnt in drama /movie /tv watching is getting to know…
Lolita is a truly beautiful piece of literature and shows the twisted mind of a pedophile. Everyone who reads that book understands that this is a sick person and not to be agreed with. It doesn't mean we are condoning pedophilia by reading the book.
Should we not watch The Wolf of Wall Street because the man in question is morally abhorrent? Its not supposed to be agreed with!
Before I continue, I want to mention that there is technically no pedophilia involved (they were adults). Anyways,…
Thank you so much for your hard work listing this out. This is where I stand with Kdramas, I take it for granted that I'll find things that I don't agree with including sexism, racism etc that apparently is differently talked about in Korea. That doesn't mean I'm going to rate the show a 1, cause if i did that there would be nothing left to watch.
I understand the critics and they make a valid point, I really don't like Dalshik either. Those who are really bothered by it should drop the drama, its not like someone is forcing them to watch. But the political statements over it make no sense considering there's enough instances of major flaws that you already listed above.
Anyways let us hope this show gets a fair rating some time soon. I'm still questioning the quality of the drama but the needless controversy from before it even began airing has been annoying.
The problem is that it got really politically inclined and brought on very social justice warrior thing usually…
I think we might get into the same debate as everyone else, which was not my intention. I respect your views and don't want to speak for other people.... I just wanted to say that we could be more light hearted about the drama and not take it too seriously.
Anyways, hope you find something better that you enjoy.
The problem is that it got really politically inclined and brought on very social justice warrior thing usually…
This was my first comment here after witnessing a whole lot of drama in the comment section and dismal ratings.... I really have no problems with criticism, I'm just saying some people may not want to have socio political conversations when they're just watching a drama for fun... Of course everyone is free to say what they like.... : )
What an absolutely beautiful show... I am just thinking about how many creative people and ideas this must have taken to put together, every frame is so well thought out. Lovely start, I'm on board!
i don't understand how having a negative opinion on this drama is considered "toxic" as so many comments below…
The problem is that it got really politically inclined and brought on very social justice warrior thing usually seen on Twitter. Watching a drama does not mean condoning everything portrayed in it. The ratings for the show is at 5.0 which makes no sense!
Yes you are allowed to have opinions, but so are other who will think this is just not the place to have such deep socio-political conversations. We could just watch the drama, or not watch it if its not good or we don't like certain things about it.
I don't understand the ratings, even if this show is not everybody's cup of tea, how can it be a 5.0?? I still have to ponder over whether I like it or not, the first two episodes left me with some doubts but I'm giving it a go next week...
I understand the concerns over racism and age gap, as an experienced drama watcher, I'm not bugged by these things as much as some of you might be because I've learnt to enjoy the drama without condoning everything portrayed in it.
My doubts are about how the colour palette, camera angles and whether it would be an enjoyable watch... first two episodes were chaotic as hell and it got tiring. I'll think about it some more after watching a few more episodes.
Anyways, disappointed with how the ratings on MDL are are right now.... 5.0 makes no sense!
I've watched up to episode 5, it seems fun but it could have been a lot better if the editing was proper. The editing is really amateurish and distracting, the transitions from one scene to another seem to be done for a student project.
A lot of fighting scenes and a lot of silly moments too. Fun watch!
Hi I just want to say thank you for all your reviews and comments across the Chinese dramas on MDL! I really value your opinion and have found some gems because of your reviews.
I'm new to cdramas, probably this is gonna be my second after Fifteen years of migratory birds, so can you guys…
This is a true rom-com! So funny and and romantic at the same time. It seems like comedy in rom coms have become a little predictable lately, but this show really stood out with its original humour. Watch if you're into that theme.
