Wait, there are "fake background laughs"?? I didn't notice at first, but if they indeed put them in the show and it's not a trailer thing, that is a dealbreaker for me. I hate them with all my soul D:

I'm not gonna lie, I'm curious and I want to watch it, but i'm also a little wary and the trailer didn't really convince me. Feels too much like shows (sitcoms) we already have in the west. I may be wrong and end up loving this tho.

You hit the spot. I also don't like most of western TV shows and movies romances. There's some good ones, but... nah.
However I found myself swooning with most of k-drama love stories, so I agree with you :)
(I don't watch makjangs so I can't opine on that particular matter)

Kudos to this article. Romance has a tendency to be considered inferior to other genres, and that's something that always irked me to no end. (Mostly because it's something associated with "girls")

As for me, I enjoy it a lot. Specially in TV shows, books and manga. In videogames I can live without it.

I love when they add a romance sub-plot to a story, whether it's crime, thriller, horror, action, etc... :) It's almost a need, without it the adventure always seems a little lacking in my personal opinion and preference, and it never reaches my favorites, doesn't matter how much I like it.

I also enjoy a lot of media where the love story takes the spotlight, but I personally prefer when it's ingrained in a bigger plot and complements it. (Ej: Vincenzo, Flower of Evil)

I don't personally like Yeo Jin Goo tho, I can't see him as Hak. I would prefer a male lead with a sharper gaze, like Seo Kang Joon. But this is just my personal taste :)

As for the rest of your cast, there are some I like and some I don't but... Jang Hyuk as Lee Geun Tae is 100% lit. <3

Well, it can be a matter of taste in some cases but a lot is just people not used to FLs that really break the mold and are truly outspoken, loud and full of antics. As for me, I loved her with fierceness. She is unique.

I picked this up as a pass-time-post-vincenzo-depression drama, but it's actually pretty good? I'm only in chapter 3 and really enjoying it.

Oh my god yes please!!! Just accept!! I don't want to wait another two years for a new drama with him <3 Plus, I love revenge dramas. They are so satisfying.

This may come out as mean, but even if this is one of my favorite k-dramas, I don't know how is it going to fare on a future re-watch after being witness of Vincenzo's unbeatable powerful electric chemistry :(
