Who pushed yixiao from the cliff novel readers or anyone who knows please give me spoilers . Looking at the blurry…
The novel may not really help us here as the cliff scene appears to be set up quite differently in terms of motivation than in the novel.
I'm not sure the same plot points make sense for the drama (based on what we've seen so far).
Because yes, in the novel, the SML DID shoot FL with an arrow but he wasn't fully to blame for her fall off the cliff... that was pretty much a suicide attempt on her end due to her unrequited love for SML (she even told his men that she never intended to leave alive that day).
Novel shows: 1. FL was crazy in love with SML 2. FL was pissed he agreed to a marriage alliance. She even offered to be his concubine and pleaded with him not to marry the Princess (he rejected her). 3. SML ordered her to be lashed 50xs because of her refusal to back down against his marriage alliance. 4. FL resigned her position and disappeared.
4 months later, he and his men were on his way to marry the Princess.
5. FL shot his men/group (she hit one of his commanders). 6. She was prepping a second arrow when SML purposely shot her in the shoulder. 7. SML ordered his men to go capture her (she was in the distance). 8. FL dramatically yanked the arrow out of her shoulder, threw it at his men and told them to go back and tell SML he would never forget her and she would haunt him for the rest of his days.
SHE JUMPED OFF THE CLIFF!
I don't see how the later half of the above scenes makes sense with the drama so I have a feeling the reason for her being shot and falling off the cliff will be quite different from novel even if SML was involved. Cause the SML wasn't really to blame in the novel...
(And yes, SML was also secretly in love with FL too, but he still wanted to go through with the marriage. He loved his country/title/power more than he loved FL at that point in time.)
my bet is that ML is reborn also. and did some kinda spell to make FL beforn
Yep, my guess is he's reborn too.
There's a tiktok teaser I saw where he's struggling with himself and says he doesn't want to hurt the FL "again"... So I'm guessing that means he has some recollection of their first life too but is trying to not lean into his psycho mode on her this lifetime around. Although it looks like his crazed self may resurface once they return to the palace later on, cause he looks to be back in full blown obsession mode with her and seems to have trouble telling real life from hallucinations so something is definitely happening to him.
Another commenter posted spoilers earlier that the Empress might have something to do with him being pyschotic, so we'll see...?
Can someone provide me with the name or link of soundtracks?
It looks like the opening and ending osts are older songs (released almost a year already) so they were easy to find. And that seems somewhat typical for mini dramas-- they recycle osts or use existing songs (although I've never heard either song before). But here's the songs and generic YT links:
The YouTube YK app is behind the standalone YOUKU app so if you want advance episodes the soonest subscribe to…
That's what I suspected (that their vip yt schedule is slower than the app). I don't love the screen mirroring but I can try to get through it if that's the faster option. The app's the way to go then! Thanks so much for your help! ❤️
Question... for those watching this from the US -is youku's YT channel or youku's app the better option to purchase/subscribe? Does anyone know if youku releases WDBTD episodes the same time on both platforms or is one more delayed and by how long? And are they similar video quality?
I specifically want the ability to cast (phone to bigger TV) and I know youku's "casting" function is bleh as I've been a past subscriber so I'm well aware youku directs you to screen mirror (it works but I don't love it like actual casting since you can't also use your phone/multitask at the same time it's mirroring 🙄) so YT wins on that end. But I have a feeling YT uploads slower than on youku.
Can anyone point me in which option is faster in terms of upload?
Note: Again, I've had subscriptions in the past to the youku app and their yt vip channel but at seperate times so I've never been able to really compare the timing of vip uploads for the same drama between the 2 platforms, lol
in the book, the mom and cousin gave him an aphrodisiac so that she could do the deed with him and be made a concubine.…
Theres 2 translations currently - the one linked below is done, and one is still in translation I think. For the one below, see Chapter 32 if you need to further your research 😂.
Hi, can someone kindly explain to me why Hongye had to marry Huaizu as a concubine and not a wife?
Because the wedding for a concubine can be prepped and completed ASAP and they can take her away. A wedding for wife would require more prep and time (i.e. Picking an auspicious day, betrothal gifts/announcement/wedding day, ...etc) so they likely would have had to leave her behind to prepare and come back for an official wedding later, but they couldn't risk that. Their main goal was to save her and get her away from Jin Ren Feng as soon as possible, and without engaging in a war/fight given both Dongfang Huai Zhu and Wangquan Hong Ye were already greatly injured/in weakened state vs Jin Ren Feng who now had the literal fire power.
for me sad thing is that baby remains in the belly.. 🙄
She had the babies cause it was year later when they reunited. They had twins! But drama just didn't bother to show us the kids/birth. 😢 She mentioned their twins by their names at the end.
The ending was yet another quick wrap up. It seemed that they had reunited one year later which would be a ludicrous…
I totally agree. Even though the drama ending stays true to the novel (splitting the twins), I didn't love it. I think better options would have been for: 1. Luo Qi and Jun Jiang Juan's future children to inherit her family's titles as we know those two are sticking around in Yannan anyways. And they'd also give the same Yannan/Beixuan ties to each country for their kids.
2. Or, Shao Qi Min understands the high stakes/thin line of peace holding their countries together. Drama should have made Qi Luo's Dad adopt Qi Min, kept him alive, improved the Princess's storyline so she's a better partner for him by the end, and allowed him and the Princess's future children to inherit the Jun titles. Their kids would have those same Beixuan/Yannan ties as well.
3. Or, if they don't wanna give up their kids' titles, they should have raised their kids in Beixuan (I figure Wolf Lord has to rule in person😂) to work together as the Wolf Lord and Baigong heir (teach remotely from one country, split their homes to live half the year in each country or live in the middle but with BOTH kids) and allowed their sons to choose their own paths or split into their respective roles as adults. Splitting up babies is kinda ick.
ML went to save his king and jump to the scene where his twins were born.
Correct, we didn't get the birth storyline from novel. When they meet again, it was after a year and she already had his kids. We can only tell they had kids/twins cause she asks him about splitting up "Xuan Chu and Jun Shuo," which we can assume are their twins and each twin was given their Father's (Xuan) or Mother (Jun)'s last name 😂.
i thought there was something fishy with Beixuan king when he wanted to take the 5 seals, like some hiden plot…
The insertion of the kids was not super clear in the drama, but they had twin boys (in the novel). That's why there's 2 😂.
I agree it's sad they seperated their twins too, but the novel was very clear on a couple more things: 1) Qi Luo decided and got Xuan Lie to agree that the first twin would inherit his Dad's legacy (Xuan clan leader), and the younger twin inherit his Mom's legacy (heir to her family as her children were always expected to inherit). In doing so, she felt their sons would both be strong leaders with an equally strong purpose/destiny of their own (she felt raising them as an heir and younger son would make her younger twin resent his brother for being the leader and him not having a bigger purpose in life), as well as 2) ensuring their blood ties means they'd keep their countries at peace with each other. The drama did focus on that second reason only. 3) And yes, they left the younger twin to her sisters and Dad (and Luo Qi who stayed behind to be with her sister) to raise but the plan is they would always come visit him annually!
Omygahhh, I can't wait for wedding day cliff diving. It's one of my fav tropes and they don't jump off cliffs as much as part of a wedding like they used to, lol (yes, they fall off cliffs randomly now and then, but I mean like when the ML or FL actually chooses to jump off a cliff when 1 or both of them are getting married to other people). I remember more of it from like 80/90s dramas 😂. I hate the weddings where 1 of the main couple has to marry someone else and actually goes through with the wedding (ie Princess Wei Young, Cry Me A River of Stars). Interrupted weddings where someone throws themselves off a cliff or where ML bridenaps FL away from the other person is way more my style!
It sucks for ML, but I love the angst it will add to the drama (him thinking she's dead, ughh the heartbreak, the pain, the regrets 😂)
Plus, I think it kind of really makes sense here. He wasn't going to let her go any other way so she had no other choice but to let him think she's dead. And the reunions are always *squeal* magical too.
Plus, it's c-dramaland cliffs. Nobody ever dies jumping off cliffs in dramaland so Qi Luo will be just fine, lol
I love Tian Huo. Every demon lord should have a subordinate like her. A strong and sensible woman.
She's so different here from her character in The Legends where she was Bai Lu/Zhao Yao's clingy follower/one of her mountain lords/fellow besties!
I can still remember that scene where all of Zhao Yao's side lords were holding her back from ruining ML's proposal and she sent her shoe flying at them, lol. #iykyk 😂
This is just my theory----Do u think those scenes where ML and FL are dressed very regal-( example- the scene…
Yes, those scenes should be of Xing Yue. Obviously, we haven't been introduced to those characters yet, but Bai Lu tends to be a bit spoilery sometimes and in their first cast/team live stream a while back, she mentioned she was in her "Xing Yue" costume that day and they asked her to demonstrate her weapon so she was playing around with her bow and said that's Xing Yue's bow/weapon or something like that. So based on that interview, yes, we can definitely say the black/white/purple-ish outfits or when she has her bow are from her Xing Yue era 😂
Sorry, I can't find the full live stream on Yt to link (only see it on iqiyi's app, and the above that I'm referring to happens around the 8 minute mark. NOTE: the live stream is actually about 2 hours long). This isn't that specific moment but here's another short clip from that same live stream and I'm referring to her in this outfit: https://youtu.be/eIy2LDX28_s?si=TBOvEBMExj_XQng0
I'm still enjoying the drama, but I just wanna say that all the main plot points have been pretty anti-climatic so far. (ie all the secret identities, the reveal of the killers you could see from a mile away, the final villian... etc.) It's pretty weak on the detective story telling end, and not that great at building suspense/payoff when it comes to revealing things 😢
Like I was at least hoping for a bigger reaction from Lan Che in finding out her identity as Leng Qingyao and what that means for her, but she kinda just skimmed over the emotions there, and barely made an effort to find her past even earlier on when she claimed she wanted to. Slightly disappointed, but maybe we'll get more when her actual memory comes back? We shall see!
Though I m liking this drama a lot but I must say this drama is lacking crowd and more characters. Like it's by…
I'm on the other side of the fence, I don't need unnecessary focus on side characters if that's going to detract from the main story/main characters' story. I like that it's been quite focused on the ML/FL as that's the main story I'm tuning in for anyways and the pacing has been good because of that. Especially for dramas that are less than 40 episodes at this time, we don't have that much time to throw at side characters anymore, compared to past 50-60 episodes dramas or those that were split up into part 1 or 2s.
Even in LBFAD for example, I really wish they cut out the side character, Dan Yin's whole back story with Jie Li and just gave us a better and longer wrap up with the ending (ie DFQC came back sooner, family life (they had kids together in the novel) or gave us scenes from the actual novel extras. The drama "extras" felt like a cop-out, they should have just wrapped up the ending better instead of his barely there "I'm back" moment! I personally didn't feel Dan Yin/Jie Li's side story did much for that drama overall (even if that actress didn't have her scandal and her supposed original storyline was kept in, I'd still be uninterested...). Her being forever in love with Chang Heng, their mortal arc, and his very reasonable rejection of her already wrapped up her character arc for me, I didn't need her additional back story later on and it just felt weird to get a whole story on a side character I didn't ask for in the first place. I always FF Dan Yin/Jie Li' s parts during rewatches.
Or Fox Spirit Matchmaker was also made by Steller too and that was way overrun with side characters to it's detriment.
For LGIEF, I think there's plenty material to focus on with 2 pairs of lovers (ML/FL and SFL/SML, and so far SML/SFL's (Mu Yao/Liu Fuyi) story hasn't even really been explained that much yet other than they've hung out forever like friends, yet he's definitely got ulterior motives so he'll have to confront his heart someday. Plus, we'll probably get a whole backstory on Relentless Woman/Mu clan later on so I'm glad we don't have unnecessary side characters at this time. Looks like there plenty of other side characters we haven't even met yet either (going by the cast list).
The page is allowing people to review and rate the drama even though it's only aired about a third of the way through? And it makes no sense that 30+ people/fans have already gone in and given the drama almost perfect scores! That just seems really disingenuous at this point and very unhelpful in my opinion for actual future viewers who rely on reviews to be helpful/useful for overall plot, summary and drama recommendations! (And this is coming from someone who is fully enjoying this drama up to Epi 8, and I've been rating episode by episode in high 9 or 10s). But in no way would I feel comfortable giving it a full actual drama rating or review yet at this point in time, given how finicky cdramas either make it or break it in their second half & finale.
I'm just gonna chuck it up to mdl acting up today I guess. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Spoiler - ML told FL he has a secret. She asked him what it was but he didn't say.
"FL: You haven't told me your secret.
ML: I'll show you right now.
... Kissing + more happened in the night (*wink wink*) 💋💋💋
FL: Pei Shen Zhi...
You... Why aren't you?!..."
