Another historical drama that I liked was A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College. It's hilarious and solid acting by ML too.

I dove into "The Tale of Rose" last night, and the second Peng Guan Ying showed up, my binge-watching alter ego took over. Sleep? Overrated. I'm already knee-deep in episode 8. Honestly, I was on the fence too since I’ve never seen any of his dramas, but man, I like his acting style. He's got this way of pulling you right into the story and making his character feel so real. His chemistry with the FL was hot. You can definitely tell he's got experience under his belt. If Deng Ke's as good as everyone says, I would trust in his directing skills, pray for good storyline/script and hope for wicked production because the talent of Lu Si and PGY are glaringly obvious. I’m ready to approach Almost Lover with an open mind, like I did with Dating in the Kitchen—which, by the way, was a surprisingly fun watch. Lu Si and Lin Yu Shen had solid chemistry, but if Peng Guan Ying’s bringing even more intensity and depth to his character here, we might be in for a wild ride!

All that yearning and deep, heart-wrenching connections Almost Lover is bound to dish out will be raw and honest. Dude’s got the acting chops to deliver all the feels and make it unforgettable. And with Lu Si at the helm, leading as the powerhouse FL with her character growth rollercoaster—Boom. Chemistry explosion. 🔥 Yeah, we’re all bracing ourselves. Mature character growth, morally gray dilemmas with a dash of sweet redemption arc? Yes, please! More relatable than all those ‘perfect from birth’ types. It's messy, it's real, and it's about to make me feel all the things that makes us human. Bring on the drama! 👏

Gu Jin totally lives up to the whole "like father, like son" vibe—he loves with the same intensity, which means he also messes up in spectacularly similar ways and ends up making similar epic sacrifices. Honestly, he’s just as cool as Bai Jue—if not cooler. But that's probably because The Last Immortal hit me in all the right places with its storyline, acting, and production— Ancient Love Poetry was just a tiny step behind.
