Their chemistry is top-notch but there is no actual storyline... Loved the starting and ending of the series 🥰
I agree with you. The actors displayed top-notch chemistry and the relationships did not seem forced. My suggestion, it's better to comment saying it's a "slice of life" drama, rather than saying there is no storyline. I guess it sort-of means the same thing, but you usually say no storyline when you don't recommend it, you say slice of life when you recommend it. This is definitely a slice of life drama.
I generally do not find Filipino bls enjoyable but this one was really really so good. I found the storyline intriguing…
I 100% agree with everything you said. I just love Nikko's positive attitude. I am going to think for a few days about how I feel about this drama, and I may have to add it to my list of favorites.
I am curious as to why you won't watch such a great film a second time. Especially since if you're like me and…
I agree. I have been watching Asian dramas for about 8 years. Since the pandemic, I have been almost exclusively watching Asian dramas. And it's for the very reasons you mention; they do an excellent job of telling real life stories and accurately portraying human emotion. Within the last year, I have had an affinity for Japanese dramas. They always give me a nostalgic feel. I also agree with you about movie/drama endings. I am okay with happy, sad, tragic, etc. endings. I like to feel all emotions. You see a lot of reviews on different pages where people are talking about how they loved a drama until the ending (usually because someone died). I am okay with the death of a character. Every ending does not have to be happy. I may seek out a drama just because I am in the mood to cry. We actually seem to have some similar tastes regarding films and dramas.

It's solely because of the subject matter (sexual abuse). And this movie portrays the worst kind for me. Abusing a person in a jail or a person with an intellectual disability is the worst because they can't get away. They either have nowhere to go or don't know what to do. They just have to accept it until it stops. I really want to watch Silenced because the ratings are so high on every list of top Korean movies. Every time I start the movie though, I get anxious and stop it before I even see anything. I can see why you will watch this film over though. I have not thought about it again until now, and in retrospect, this was an excellent film. I cannot think of anything that could be done to make it better.
No, it's not just you. I just finished episode 3 and wanted to review the comments before probably dropping it.…
Thanks a lot. I will not finish it. Lol. As you said, mediocre story. I like the production quality, the actors, and their acting, but that's a dumb story to tell for this quality of production. Haha. I know that was a lot to write, so thanks for taking the time.
Is it just me or does everyone feel like where are these characters are coming from? I am in like episode 3. So,…
No, it's not just you. I just finished episode 3 and wanted to review the comments before probably dropping it. I am not following the point of anything, and I am like 3 hours into it. Why did they get attacked in the first place? Everyone has to know because they are chasing after Ken to finish him off. It wasn't a random act of violence. It's too many random people and random things happening. I understand the fun in seeing a bunch of random situations and then they all eventually come together but this show is all over the place and doing too much. Have you watched more and is it worth it to continue watching?
That really did bug me. That boy was a unique character; a victim that wasn't scared of his bully and fought him…
Lol. Exactly. I didn't even see that comment. It was obvious to me he wasn't going to die. I actually thought he would end up saving his bully and they would be best friends. But when he was being taken by the thing, I 100% thought the bully would run-up and save him. Boy was I off. Lol. But I 100% agree with you. He had the potential to be the greatest character.
They literally killed the potential main character. Oh god... whereas the bully and a few useless characters are…
That really did bug me. That boy was a unique character; a victim that wasn't scared of his bully and fought him back. He had character development before any of them. He was bullied. He also ignored all his classmates. Then he began to fight his bully back and interact socially with others. Then they kill him off. Are they saying if the victim fights back, he dies? As you can tell I am still annoyed.
I don't understand why the rating is so low! Is this drama perfect?! No! Were there elements in this dramas I…
I don't think it was good, but I don't think it was bad. My low rating is because I feel like too many scenes were missing that could have made it better (and cut-out unnecessary scenes). Ha Yeon Woo talked about how his mom slapped them and yelled at them (normal parent child discipling) but showed no flashbacks of them with his mom. That would have added to the emotional connection since she passed, and they went to her grave on the anniversary. They showed how Seong Woo Jae gifted Ha Yeon Woo with the hoodie, and he left it under his desk, etc. but there was no discussion of what happened to the hoodie (I think I know what happened though). That too was a big reason of their misunderstanding each other and again would have added to the emotional connection. There were other scenes, but those two scenes were big too me because when something is brought-up in the drama multiple times, it would seem important to show and/or have a conclusion. My rating would have been a 7 but I changed it to a 6.5 solely because of the hoodie not being brought back up. Seong Woo Jae even wore his gray hoodie in the last episodes (he still had it) and Ha Yeon Woo splashed wine on it, so the hoodie was a bigger part of the storyline and I wanted to know what happened to it.
not to be rude but if you paid attention, it wasn't a sudden redemption, he was changing as he got older, hints…
You're right. Japanese drama is slow burn. You will miss a lot waiting for everything important to be said or spelled-out for you. I am looking forward to seeing the Thai adaption of Cherry Magic. I can imagine the differences already, but I am hoping I love it because Cherry Magic is another one of my favorite Japanese BLs. More than Words was probably my favorite BL of 2022. It took me back to high school. Japanese BLs are always nostalgic for me.
