honestly his change is unavoidable since even if his innocence is declared and is released he won't be able to have the same life. he can't just act the same with his family after all that happened and even if he is innocent people are still prejudiced and it will be hard for him to find a job or have a social life lets not forget his face is everywhere ( i hate them for revealing his face even tho the trial didn't finish ugh)
so if he is going to be forced to lead a different and difficult path he can't just be the same he had to change so i guess this is the perfect time for that so that he can survive in this harsh world.
still i feel bad for him his life changed completely for something out of his control
