ok but fr i need jaewook as a cute dorky ML NOOOOOW he was such a scene stealer 😭 his theme of knowing his happiness was so nice and charming too. i also adored the little sister, she reminded me so much of my own (love for my) siblings :(
the sisters genuinely made me cry most.. from their relationship to each other & with haewon.. i find it hard to put into words how they made me feel so i will leave it at that :)
andddd i feel like i gotta state my love for the leads more because my god.. they really did something in this drama 😭 skj does the lovesick introvert so well, and pmy surprised me with how much i was rooting for her character.. individually they slayed!!! AND THEIR CHEMISTRY.. my god. they could just look at each other and i would cry (which i did.)
honestly so obsessed with how these two paralleled and orbited each other - i really believed in their love!!!! i was cheering them on!!!! and i thought the way their experiences informed how they held one another was so natural???? like they CHANGED each other but it didn’t feel preachy to me. haewon’s desperate love (and desire for reciprocation) from her family and later for boyoung vs eunseop’s love as isolation and better kept secret……… how aloof eunseop learns to show how he really feels in a way others can understand, and compromising haewon finally receiving the love that /she/ can easily understand.. omg i could talk about them forever 😭
i did also like the subplot with boyoung :( it was uncomfortable and a little Too Real.. i laughed thru tears when boyoung reached for the apple when she brought hungover!haewon home. and i cried a lil bit more when haewon texts boyoung the weather is nice nowadays…. LIKE GIRL THE WEATHER IN MY HEART? SHAMBLES. so happy to see them grow.
anyway yeah i could keep going on and on fjdkfkf i will stop my spoiler review here. to conclude this was such a startlingly nice watch.. it has me excited to see what the actors will pick next i’ve Become a Fan overnight 😭

i’d say it’s simpler than most melodramas (in terms of intertwined dynamics and twists) but it def still gets just as heavy. tw for abuse, violence, but as far as i remember you’ll know & get signs of when it’ll be shown if you want to skip them. there are also more everyday mistakes / mundane hurt in the drama, which i found kind of refreshing and grounding? (i get why there are commenters that may have hated how some of the incidents were dealt with but personally……. idk, i would have felt the same as many of the characters. it felt real because it was imperfect. and i liked how the only thing i felt the show presented as “right” was allowing yourself the space to grieve and maybe even forgive.)
what sold this for me was how sincere all the love and chemistry felt.. not just from the yearning leads (oml they were so perfect though 😭 is this the magic everyone talks about with pmy and skj roles in romance dramas? they got me in the 1st episode, from the breathless moment haewon saw eunseop pedaling towards her…. they kept me in a CHOKE HOLD fr) i’m also a sucker for all the sibling dynamics, the book club, the small town gossip mill, and even the estranged friendship made me cry :(
if you’re feeling under the weather and wanna watch a healing drama in one go.. give this a shot with an open heart! :) though i said it made me cry, a lot of the tears were cathartic.

everything about the reaction point was so fun.. still my fave part of the drama. i was definitely fooled and jumped to conclusions about both hawon & jisoo 😭 also loved the home stay dynamics as much (even more probably?) as the first watch.
i definitely got to appreciate the iconic office winter walkway scene at ep12 a lot more.. i only realized just how deeply meaningful their exchange and the aftermath was x___x (i was freaking out that the otp might be no more during my first watch, in fairness!!!)
hawon slowly learning the importance of a love that’s present, evident, a warm and beating thing…… while seowoo learned how love is also in the remembering, unseen yet still part of you like the air……. Maybe I Cried Even Harder. whoever came up with that cursed scene and had only hawon see seowoo through the one way forest? you are crazy. a visionary. i want you to make another drama just like this.

it’s a bit niche/definitely not something i’d easily recommend to anyone tbh.. but i def think the plot moves faster than people give it credit for. i was gasping at the end of every ep because something was revealed (sooner) than i thought it would. maybe it wasn’t the answer or plot twist i was expecting, but it was still really fun! and while it was also super romantic (a must for jhi & csb melo fans!!!!!!) i’d argue that this is a drama more about love itself :) which is always a plus for me.
anyway, if you were looking for such a sign - pls give apoym a shot! it’s a bit weird but if you can buy into that, then you’ll be in for an emotional ride hehe.
