Strong start and a descent ending
Nov 6, 2021Hometown Cha Cha Cha is one of those comfort dramas to watch on a cold day covered in a thick blanket. The plot was fantastic from the beginning but I did feel like the last two episodes could have been a bit better. I feel like the pacing got really finicky during episodes 15 and 16. Maybe the director should have made it into like 18 episodes just so that the ending would not feel as rushed and that it would have concluded well.
I really like all the characters in the drama but the police officer and the dental hygienist love story really appealed to me more than our main lead. Also, I am living for the representations of LGBTQ+ people in this drama. I did not expect a Kdrama that takes place in a small coastal town to have a lesbian underplot. Though I lowkey wished that I should have brought more tissues since I just kept bawling my eyes out. I know people say that this was like a 'healing' type drama but man I cried so much. And I think that you might too!

Short and a comedic relief
July 6, 2021Phew, that went by quick. I literally watched this series in one settings. And here’s my take, very funny. Like I was laughing for the majority of the part, I really love how they make fun of the BL cliche troupes. That was something to look forward to!
My only concern was that there was not really any love story for the main character. He’s literally like us except he is facing these BL romances in real life.
But I guess for a short drama like this, it was surely a funny and interesting ride. Probably won’t rewatch it unless I need some laughs and giggles but yea.

Interesting but lacks depth
April 26, 2021I know this has three couples and that a lot of people are very excited about them. But I honestly felt lacking in terms of the progress of the story. Of course, I know it is a short drama after all. But it just did not give the satisfaction like other short BLs out there. Sure there is fluff but the romanticization of your kidnapper is just I am over it personally.
Maybe if my older self watched this series, then I would rate it higher but since I watched so many shows. I think I just have a knack for levelling up my standard.
Enough with the negatives and more on the pros. It is sweet and fluffy. I literally finished it in a day. If you the type of person who won't pick on the plot unlike me. It is very easy to watch. Sure there are so misunderstanding at times but it's bearable if don't care too much about the details.
I doubt I'll rewatch it but if I do its prolly because I am looking for some short sweet fluff!!!
Am I still gonna watch season 2? Of course, since this story has potential along with the actors. I have a feeling that it will be better. (I really hope so!!)

Hometown healing
Jan. 21, 2024Welcome to Sam-dal ri is definitely that kdrama for healing. Not revenge.
For starters, I know a lot of other people have mentioned how they love how this show gets better as it goes on. And that is so true. I never really expected to love this drama if you asked me around the first few episodes. It is a slower pace slice of life show. It alleviates that fast-life city feeling, as it is set in a small town. You know, as a person who grew up in the city, I kind of feel jealous and I really do want to experience that slower pace type of living.
The plot of the show is amazing, it is pretty good in terms of the story telling and how it was delivered throughout the episodes. I did wish though that the so called "antagonists" got much harsher ending for all the things they have committed. I do know that this is not a revenge drama but regardless, it fell flat in that area.
The cast is amazing and I feel like this drama is very underrated or underrepresented in terms of all the kdramas that on the smae air-time as this one. So please give Welcome to Sam-dal ri the love and recognition it deserves!

The only kdrama in 2021 where I did not skip or hit the pass forward button
May 6, 2021Holy shit, it has come to an end for bingeing this series and I am fking dead. Hands down Vincenzo deserves the hype that it has! It is literally the only kdrama released this year where I never found boring. Each 20 episodes were fulfilling and I can tell that the writers put effort into producing such a brilliant series.
First and foremost the CGI, HOLY CRAP. The graphic is just majestic you can clearly tell that the producers and directors put everything they can to fking deliver. I don't care what anyone else says, but many kdramas from late 2020 to early 2021 are full of mediocre plots. A lot of them were very disappointing. I have drop a lot of them or skip until the finale just so I can it was good. I feel like Vincenzo and Penthouse were the well-written ones out here.
As for Vincenzo Cassano himself, I can say that he is majestic. Obviously, we know that he has a past and that he is not really a hero, but he isn't a villain either. He pretty much just trying to live his life. He is so funny and ironic. And his chemistry with Cha Young is off the charts. Well obviously the romance aspect was not really the main focus but it is still pretty well delivered.
Cha young on the other hand is strong female lead who is a badass bitch and intelligent asf. She may have her Damsel in distress moment but overall I love her acting and her character. She is very charismatic and not a nuisance.
HAN SEO, AH MY BELOVED HAN SEO. I am so happy that he was able to find true brotherhood with Vincenzo. I am so sad that things had to end that way with him. I literally fking bawled the fuck out of my eyeballs. Holy crap, how can the writers be so fking cruel. Like goddamn it! TVN U BITCH U ALWAYS WRITE OFF MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS!!!!!!!

It is not as bad as what they say
Dec. 14, 2023Just a psa, YES, I almost dropped this series. It definitely have its slow parts and that definitely pissed me off. The cast is so amazing and if they just stick to the plot of the webtoon. Then I feel like this would have been better and not have those dull and confusing parts.
The ending is not sad, if that’s what you are looking for. I think they did a pretty decent job at concluding this series. I am not sure if I would rewatch it again to be honest. Maybe just watch the highlights and video edits of it.
Someone people said the acting fell flat in certain scenes and I guess I did feel it too. But it wasn't like that bothersome for me as with the plot.
I wish I can say more better things about this show. But the only good thing is that I finished it even though it felt like a chore.
Definitely watch this if you have nothing else to watch.

L&P - Loyalty and Persistence
May 2, 2023Lighter and Princess was Cdrama that I was bit hesitant to watch at first. Although the plot seemed intriguing, I didn’t think that I would be that hooked into watching this show.
I just want to say the the plot is pretty damn solid and strong. I will start off with the cons first. The reason I gave the plot section a 9.5/10 was that, I just felt like the ending of the show kind off fell flat. Especially in the revenge arc or around the climax. Aside from this issue I had, everything else from ep 1- 33 was solid. It was good.
As for the romance, I love the FL, Zhu Yun the most. She is so loyal and persistent with Xi Lun. After all the things that she went through. Zhu Yun and Xi Lun really deserves the best. Poor souls, my heart ached and broke for them.
I didn’t realize how heavy this drama will go into. I also can't believe that it only took me like 3 days to finish this whole series.
I love it. It's just good to watch so I hope yall can give it a try too! Still a solid 10/10 Cdrama for me!!!!

Lovely, refreshing, cliché but I love it
Feb. 26, 2023Time and Him are just right is one of the best youth cdrama I have watched in a hot minute. I really love the communication between the male and female lead. Like their dynamic as a duo is just so lovely.
To be fair, for a youth drama, they are actually pretty mature in regards to my standards considering I have watched a ton of youth genre dramas.
There was some minor hiccups here and there in the plot progression but it didn't bother me at all henceforth the 9.5 star rating.
In terms of the SML syndrome, yes I had it. But to be fair the ML really snatched my heart so I definitely was like switching teams like a mad man.
The group dynamic itself was fantastic and pretty realistic to me. The way they fought, made up, look at perceptions of so many things. AND honestly, just how they try to put effort into pursuing their dreams that was so important.
In terms of the facing of the show, it is good cause I wasn't bored at all. Like I was absorbing and pretty engaged, which is shocking cause the last few years of youth cdramas has been pretty meh. I had to dropped like bazzillion of them just cause of how immature, petty, and boring the series were.
But this one ate most show up.
Love it.
Recommend heavily to yalls to watch.
MUCH LOVE AND I WANT A JUN XING PLEASE LORD and a QIN KAI AS well thanks!

Cute fluffy and short
April 17, 2022Cherry Blossoms After Winter is a short K-drama BL that is easy to watch, and easy to follow. That being said, I did read and a huge fan of the manhwa so I definitely was a bit wary when this show was first announced. I think the casts fit the character, especially our two lovely main leads. Though, I wish the drama was longer because there were so many details that they missed from the manhwa. But for those who didn’t read the manhwa then you probably won't mind the shortness of this drama.
So to sum it all up, this drama is perfect for those who want a short, fluffy, easy to watch, and easy-to-understand kdrama. ALSO, HELLO THAT ONE SCENE I WAS SO SPEECHLESS 🙈 , HE IS SO HOT 🥵 I CANT-

Hey siri play "Blueming" by IU
April 11, 2022HOLY CRAP, I AM BACK WITH WATCHING KDRAMAS JUST A WEEK BEFORE THE FINAL SEASONS AGAIN. Waw, this is such an occurring experience. Blueming is definitely up there with the Korean BLs that are released for this half of 2022. I really love how they paced the series in such a consistent manner. Although, each episode are about 10-15 minutes, the writers and directors were able to team up to execute the feeling, the story, and the progression so damn good.
I really love and fell in love with Da un, I love Siwon too. But Da un just sets up the standard out here. He is so caring and lovely, you can see how he never forced anything to Siwon and has always been respectful. Even when they have issues, Da un always assures Siwon that his feelings are valid and that he will always respect him. Da un asking for forgiveness is just too cute too like WTFFF I CANT-
I'VE BEEN SINGLE FOR WAY TOO LONG HOLY CRAP. SOMEONE PASS ME A DA UN PLEASEEEEE 😭
As for other characters, they are all lovely except the parents and that one annoying jerk🤭

PERFECT TEN: Much better than season 1
April 9, 2021We Best Love Season 2 takes the crown as one of the few BLs which I prefer the season 2 better than season 1. I know other reviews here say otherwise. But I genuinely found the season 2 storyline more intriguing and well detailed than season 1. Season 2 showed the huge development between Shu Yi and Shi De's relationship.
Sure there was that 5-year gap that left many people angry but I did not mind it. The problems were not dragged unlike other series and I am happy how Shu Yi called out Shi De for his lack of trust in him and their relationship. I am happy that there is not any "villain" in this season but just a few minor setbacks. As much as I wanna punch Shu Yi's dad to the wall, I find his character hilarious. As for chemistry, I find it much stronger than the previous season as I guess the actors' bond grew more and I can tell how comfortable they are with each other.
Sidenotes:
As much as the Doctor's relationship is toxic. I want to know his story and the chief of tech, it seems that they have such a tragic back story. I am happy that they will be the main focus in season 3 so fingers crossed. Though, I can already feel that I will probably need a box of tissues when I watch S3. Cause I just know that it will be one heck of a ride.
Also, DAMN WTF WHY DID THE DIRECTORS CUT THIS SCENE!! IT SUCH AN IMPORTANT SCENE HOW DARE THEM CUT IT.... I NEED TO GO TO TAIWAN AND RE-ADD THIS SCENE BACK.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oum7pXW4OoA
Lastly, I wish we get to see more of Shu Yi and Shi De in season 3. I know they are not the main focus but still. I need their steamy scenes back. This season lacks that part. /hj
Also, damn they really went back to their university to redo the kiss at the pool. Though I must say that the underwater kiss remain superior. NEVERTHELESS, I FOUND THIS SEASON PROFOUNDLY MUCH BETTER THAN SEASON 1.
I guess it is all in our personal taste, but I REALLY CAN'T STAND THE SLANDER OF SEASON 2. People make it seem worse than it really is!!!
Hands down one of my favourite Taiwanese dramas for 2021!!

Fluffy and cute
Jan. 22, 2024Another Jmovie, I have finished.
And Yet, You Are So Sweet is a Japanese movie that you definitely do not want to miss, if you love diabetes fluffy type of rom-com. The plot is very basic, the prognosis of the plot is decent. There are misunderstanding that other viewers might find frustrating to watch. However, it wasn't that bothersome to me. I did feel like the run-time is quite long but short at the same time. The ending could have been better, but I guess that is a common theme with all movies, is the fact that they all have abrupt and weirdly knotted conclusions.
Regardless, this fluffy Japanese movie, is definitely a go to rom-com to watch on those days where you don't wanna use your brain to think and just relax.

Diabetes
Jan. 21 ,2024Our Secret Diary is an amazing movie filled with fluff and sweet moments. It might be considered a typical highschool romance movie but this movie is just done well. The execution, the movement of the plot, the pacing, the change of the perspective from the female lead to the male lead. The way the misunderstanding were dragged a bit but it was just amazing when it all came to the conclusion.
This movie has made me put more appreciation and love for Asian movies. As such, this year after finishing Monster, and now this, Our Secret Diary, I feel like I am on a roll with Jmovies.
I have nothing but praise to the directors, the casts, and the other staffs. I did wish we got more scenes after they became official but you know what I will think that the post-credit scene has given the justice that it needs to deliver.
Our Secret Diary has definitely jumped spot as one of my favourite Asian movies of all time. I can assure you that.

Breaking the top and bottom stereotypes
Sep 27, 2023WHOA, I finished this drama in like one sitting, I kid you not.
First of all, I was a bit shooked about finding the seme and the uke of this drama. It is good that they are breaking the stereotypes placed among mlm relationships. The plot of the drama is okay, it does feel a bit inconsistent but apparently this was adapted from a manhwa. SO guess who is about to read that manhwa since I want more details regarding the plot prognosis and such.
Yul and Chan's chemistry is so amazing. Chan really embodied that baby girl type of behaviour especially with the acting and the actor's delivery of lines. As for Yul, the switch up from his grumpy cold nature, to the more smily and carefree vibes later on was chef's kiss.
Love Tractor is definitely part of the generic and fluffy type content of korean BLs that are released this year. But something about it is just so interesting to watch. I feel like they really ate with the country side type of drama. I hope there are more like this to be released in the near future.
