One of the best top tier Korean BL at the moment
August 31, 2021I have been on a slump lately so I have been watching Asian dramas and constantly dropping them after a few episodes. But Light On Me saved me and served right. Everything was done well, there were not unnecessary troupes that are commonly found in other BLs. The relationship of the two are so healthy and non-toxic. It's so realistic that it makes me so jealous of the characters. There was a love triangle but I am happy how it is not dragged on. Everything pretty much went by smoothly. Although, it is noticeable how this drama has a lower budget given the circumstances. But all in all, I am very happy with how everything went through. I suck at remembering names but Shinwoo, my mans 😍. I love him so much.
Holy crap, where can I find a man like him. I need him, he is so respectful and very sincere. I know in the beginning, he was a bit cold and rude but he's one of the best tsundere ever. Like dayum, all I can think about is him. He really stand out among the cast from acting to character development. I know how things are especially given how people are still very narrow minded and that coming out can be a pain. Especially with how some friendship will turn hostile in the end and how often bullying occurs. Given his middle school backstory, I literally cried for him. Because it hits so close to home. I know how it feels and that I am so happy for him to finally have courage and be himself. Also thank god, he was the endgame. I was so close to booking it to Korea cause I thought TGK will choose Da On.
Damn, what a review, I pretty much talked about Shinwoo only. But can you even blame me... Anyway, I hope y'all give this series a chance!!!

Emotionally touching
Aug 6, 2021Whoa that was quite a ride. At a Distance, Spring is Green is definitely that drama that gives a touch of reality and showcases the cliché statement of "don't judge a book by its cover". Every character has its own flaws but they were able to redeem themselves later on. I guess the sense of maturity that this drama gave is just exceptionally well written.
Although I much as I love the series, I think I was just not in the right season to watch this series that is why I can't give this series a perfect score. But I do feel that the two male leads have so much chemistry. Since this is not a BL, their bromance factor is off the chart. Like damn, I actually feel so much chemistry that it definitely overshadowed the chemistry of certain BL dramas 🍵.
Also OUR TRIO IS JUST THE BEST. OUR THREE MUSKETEERS REALLY DID THAT. One of the few friendships in the kdrama world where I saw a huge character development of the whole crew.
Though, I am a bit mad on how Soo Hyun's love life have concluded. Like WRITERS WTF, WHY IS MY SHIP NOT SAILED. LIKE THAT'S actually SO frustrating I wanna bash my head into the wall. So I definitely will pretend that it did not happen. Cause the writers were mad petty for giving him that condescending ending. 😡

Whoa my tears were just flowing endlessly
July 18, 2021Oh waw, what a week! I spent this whole watching Word of Honour and every night I just cried. Make sure to have some tissues because my emotions were unstable as heck. HOLY, how can someone think of such a plot. Also, damn... how did this even pass the censorship?? LIke the flirtatious moments from Wen Ke Xing was just phenomenal. Though I must say I love this series from its casts to some parts of the story. I will explain why I gave the plot a significantly lower rating than the other 3 components.
👇 SPOILERS DOWN BELOW and a rant 😅 👇
First of all, I love how they tried to lay out the story. But I must say the bits near the ending and the finale itself could have been significantly better. Like I understand that in Wuxian dramas' side characters are usually killed off. BUT THE WORD OF HONOUR just did not give me a good convincing on why Cao Wei Ning and Ah Xiang have to die. Like how is that bastard the "father" of scorpion king and scorpion king still alive. LIke that just pissed me off. Sure maybe the writers wanted us to experience pain and I just hate them for that. I feel like the author just got lazy with the writing of the end. Like I will happily accept Cao Wei Ning and Ah Xiang's death if the writers just gave us a good reason. Like WTF, when I saw that part, I just flipped out cause what is this honey??? Like the way, they killed these two was just poorly done. Maybe I am too harsh, but that's my opinion.
And WTF is the ending. Like e it's just so condescending... How can you start such a well off plot just for it to fall into that ... mess ? .... I don't even think an appropriate word can express my disappointment in the ending.
So in summary
Pilot till maybe ep 30 ish solid, 10/10
30 ish till finale solid 6/10
Would I still recommend this??
Duh of course, I really wanted to give this series a solid 10/10
But with that part, I will settle for a 9.5 instead 😅

So cute and fluffy
Feb. 15, 2026I finished this in like two days and this show is cute and fluffy.
It is very much binge worthy and really hits the spot.
I love the main leads so much, the way they act and the chemistry they give is just amazing.
I feel like the drama was just right paced and really embodies the succinct pacing that Jdramas in general give-off. No major issues, nor love triangles. Just a good capture of what queerlove is kinda about.

LUKAL LUKAL
Dec. 13, 2025Luna and Kalix are the first couple of the University Series and for this adaptation, I purposely watched this last just because I know the budget would be on the lower end. However, the casts and the team really did justice to the book adaptation, there are moments where I felt like I did not need notice the low budget of the series. And the fact that the scenes were not as rough as I expected.
I think my only critique is how they kept doing present and past scenes in an episode, I feel like having the book timeline would have been better instead of this experimental approach that they used.

A hiro
Dec. 12, 2025WHOA I am on a whim with binge watching the University series for sure.
Yanna's and Hiro's love story definitely is the spiciest among the university couples, for sure, they emphasized on that for this adaptation. I feel like there is something with their story and with how everything unfolded. I know that the budget seems tighter on this one and I know when I watched the first series, the budget would be nonexistent due to it being the first of the adaptation.
Regardless, I did not mind the shots and overall cinematography, after all vivaone is not a big budget television series company.

Watched it on air but put on hold after episode 13
Nov. 28, 2024Whoa, I finally finished Dr Romantic Kim 3 after almost 1.5 years of putting it on hold.
The season 3 started with a blast and it was amazing. The hospital genre definitely has its limit as it can make or break the plot progression. Given how the past 2 seasons unfolded. I must say that the latter half of season 3 put me unease as I slowly fell out of hook with the plot hence why I put it on hold.
Maybe its due to the fact that the first two season were a solid 10 for me. But this one, I just could not say the same. I think that they juggled way too many things at times per episode like the trauma centre, the doldam hospital, all of the political / corporate functions and power trip. I think that maybe the 16 episodes were too short of a time frame for them to execute all the stories.
Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to the season 4 of Dr Romantic Kim. I sure hope for that one they are able to execute it more precisely and smoothly like how they did in the first two seasons.

Another solid BL from Japan
Sep 11, 2024Another solid BL released from Japan has been made in the year of 2024. It is amazing how, the story line progressed and many have said how accurate it is from the manga. So now, it seems like I will be finding my ways into reading this manga too.
The plot is simple yet the way it was portrayed really kept me interested. Though, I really hated the Maya arc, that girl annoyed me so much that I simply had no choice but to skip some scenes.
I love the chemistry of our leads to say the least. Given how pg and very fluffy, the chemistry is chef's kiss! I need more to be honest but yea.

Cute fluffy typical
Aug. 5, 2024WHOA, finally a Cdrama that I finished without dropping after a long mf time.
The Best Day of My Life is a cute fluffy and typical Cdrama. A cliche that is enjoyable to watch especially in this summer and hot days. Can't believe I finished it within 2 days.
First of all, there are misunderstandings in this drama but it is not as bad as other Cdramas. I mean its annoying but it is not frustrating that you would want to rip your hair off its follicles. The plot prognosis is very predictable but again with rom-com Cdramas, it is up to how you feel with it. I feel like turning off your brain and not thinking too much about the plot will give you a more understanding and appreciation of this drama. It does feel a bit abrupt at times since it has a longer time slot and only is 14 episodes.
The chemistry of the main couple and the second couple are amazing to say the least. I definitely watched it for the both of them. I would say, that there were certain points were the second couple were stealing the show and shining more than the main couple.
As for the second lead male and female, they honestly did not bring anything to the table. They were skip sesh for all their appearance.
Needless to say, I had so much fun watching this show.

Definitely not typical
June 9, 2024Watching this Kdrama was something I did not expect to continue. To be honest I did not really have a huge expectations for this drama as when it first started the airing, it was kind of the slower end. But I did slowly get hooked to plot as it goes by. Though one thing for sure is that, the chemistry is oozing from the leads. The plot twists are amazing, and it is so uniquely written. There are some parts that I feel like could have been better with plot progression, like the ending feels like its missing something. Maybe instead of 12 episodes, it could have been 14 episodes. Like the details were lacking for the latter half of the series.
But regardless, it was still a fun ride for me. I have mixed feelings regarding this drama but it more on the positive side, thats for sure!

Cute
March 31, 2024This jdrama BL is cute and fluffy to say the least. For a 3 episode drama, I did feel a bit underwhelmed with the plot but thats okay cause they really put all the possible things they needed to deliver.
The casts are pretty good as well in terms of delivering the acting needed. Definitely a cute ride to watch and easy to take in. Moreover, it can be finished in just one sitting.

A slow paced show from friends to lovers
Mar. 1, 2024Perfect Propose is a smooth sailing Jdrama BL to start your year off!
It has a simple plot yet the way it is told is just so good that you will want to know more.
The 6 episodes makes it sweet and concise and honestly, it is just a perfect spring show to watch.
It tackes your cliché childhood friends to lovers, so for those who love this troupe. This is definitely a show that you must see !

Home cooked meal
Jan. 29, 2023Our Dining Table is a very cute and fluffy Japanese BL. The story is simple but the way the story unfolds is so pleasing. There are obviously some critiques that I personally found with this show.
To start off, I think they could have chilled down and tone down the amount of flashbacks. I understand that flashbacks are essential in delivering the plot and moving the storyline. However, I feel like some of the flashbacks itself are repetitive. It could have been less, it bothered me a bit so I had to fast forward those scenes.
However, in terms of everything else, I am at ease and amaze with the series. I think that the leads are very green flag coded couple, they know how to handle things. There are times where they might be slow with each other, but I love how they really emphasize on promoting positivity with each other. Definitely a breather given how toxicity is romanticized in many dramas. I am glad with how the writer took the wholesome approach. It definitely made me love the series more.
Also, the kid really puts flavour in the series. He is so cute and amazing. I love how his character added more dynamic to the couple. The family vibe was oozing. It was done so well. When I first saw the poster of this show, without reading the synopsis, I really thought he was the son.
Please, give this show lots of love that it deserves.

The epitome of there is a light at the end of a long dark tunnel
Dec. 3, 2023Another Kdrama I have to say my good bye too.
Castaway diva has been my go to kdrama that I look forward to every saturday and sunday. I must say that I have never been disappointed by this drama. It is so good. I wish that it was a bit longer maybe like 13 or 14 episodes so that they could have had expanded certain plot points. But I guess 12 episodes will suffice.
The music of the show is chef's kiss. I love how well-produced the OSTs are. I wanna listen to them again and again.
I am just so happy at how things have concluded. That happy-ever after typa ending was just something all the characters needed amongst all the challenges and trauma they had to face.

It's okay
Sep 26, 2023Lovely Liar was an on going show that I kept up with since it's pilot episode. However, as the story progresses, I slowly fell out of interest for it. That is why I only finished it now.
The chemistry is amazing between Minhyun and SooHyun, as much I love their chemistry. I felt really bummed with the plot. I do not know how to explain. But the plot was appealing at first, then it slowly became doo doo water later on.
I mean the drama is pretty decent in my opinion. FInishing it definitely felt like a chore
