Round 2

Edit: April 19, 2023

Rewatching Dr. Romantic Kim 2 again just after hearing the release of season 3 makes me so happy.

Anyhow, this show is still my favourite medical drama of all time!!!

May 4, 2020

I LOVE DOCTOR ROMANTIC KIM 2, I love the slow burn development of Eun Jae and Woo Jin. It literally took them 16 episodes to be official again. As much, I love them I also love Nurse Park and Dr Yun. These two are such a good second lead couple. Dr. Yun has such a sweet sunshine character and Nurse Park, I want to know more about his past since I didn’t watch season 1. So this makes me want to watch season 1 now. As for Master Kim, I hope that he finds his love and Dr. Bae too. Moreover, I really love this series. I wish Dr. Shim had more screen time since her character development is great.

FURTHERMORE, I FEEL LIKE THERE WILL A SEASON 3 SINCE THERES THE ODD BALL PROJECT THAT MASTER KIM IS PLANNING. I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT HELLO!!! PLEASE GIVE US A SEASON 3. I AM MORE THAN WILLING TO WATCH IT. GIVR IT TO US PLEASE!!!

Also, CAN PEOPLE STOP COMPARING SEASON 1 TO SEASON 2. THEY BOTH ARE GREAT AND THAT THEY SHOULD NOT COMPARED SINCE THEY HAVE THEIR OW STORYLINE WITH GREAT CHARACTERS!

Lastly, I LOVE THIS SERIES, one of my favourite kdrama for this year!!

Still such an S-Tier show

April 10, 2023

18 again is such a timeless show, I originally watched it when it was first released on Netflix and it jumped right into my favourite comfort dramas. Rewatching 18 again definitely solidify its position in my ever-growing lists of Kdramas. After feeling burn-out from school and the uninteresting shows that I was forcing myself into watching. Rewatching this show was definitely such a smart move on my behalf. To think that I was reminiscing my first year uni self when I watching this show during the peak of pandemic and its lockdown for the very first time. This show brought me joy, and made experience all those emotions time and time again. Made me cry to realize all the hardship that the parents have to go through for the sake of raising their children. It helped gain a better understanding of my own self and with how I perceived my own parents.

18 again serves a life-long educational story. I love how the writers were able to deliver and mesh comedy, romance, slice-of-life, and insight of what people go through. I wasn't even going to write this review. But I realized, my 2020 self and 2019 self, didn't know that mydramalist existed yet. SO I guess, it is time to rewatch all those kdramas that I love again and write them a review that they all deserved.

Back to 18 again, YES PLEASE WATCH THIS. All of the casts executed their roles quite well and give 18 again the love and fame that it deserves!

Until my next rewatching session again.

Love ❤️

So damn good

April 6, 2023

Koi Desu is that JDRAMA. It is so under appreciated, it is actually insane. I would love to thank the tiktok edits that came up on my fyp that recommended this drama.

This drama is so good, not perfect, but so fucking good.

Also I just wanna say that Morio is the biggest green flag and such a sweet wholesome boy. Like I need him in my life, in terms of the JDRAMA WORLD leads, he is up there on the greenest flag ever along with IDA from Kieta Hatsukoi.

I do want to talk about the 2 major turn off that this drama has that made me pull my hair out of my scalp:

MAJOR SPOILERS

First of all, that break up was unnecessary and it was so off guarded. No proper explanation and the last episode did not give proper justice. It was so rushed and clearly not well put together. I was not even fumed by the breakup. I AM MAD cause of how the writers just gave that messy ending. The first 3/4 of the last episode is wack. Like I watched it without skipping and I wish I skipped some scenes. Like wha is with the push and pull and the hiding of Morio....

Aside from that minor issues I have, I love this series.

Definitely rewatching this again when I can.

Until then,
Bah BYEEEEE

Putting this on my S-tier kdrama BL

March 30, 2023

U heard it folks, this drama just boosted its way into my higher level of Kdrama BLs.

Our Dating Sim, ate, devoured, served, and slayed for 2023.

I love the cast and our two lovely leads, Mr. Ed and Mr. Ian

I will be going by their English name for the purpose of this review.

Ed ate, he is the standard. I want him, I need him. He needs to be in life.

Ian, he slayed, I love their communication with each other. NO STUPIDS MISCOMMUNICATION in the present moment. I will be excusing what happened 7 years ago...ahahahha

This is such an informal review but I am so sad this show ended. I am still not ready to let this one go.

See yalls back when I rewatch!

PLEASE WATCH IT, gives so much dopamine and serotonin.

Fluffy and cute

March 29, 2023

A shoulder to cry on is definitely a great improvement from the last few failed kbls that has been released.

Before watching the endings, I have been seeing comments about it. To be honest, I prepared myself for the worst but the ending was pretty decent in my opinion. I feel like people tend to equate Thai BLs with Korean BLs, but they aren't the same thing...

Anyhow, A Shoulder To Cry On does have some plot issues that could have been better though I must say, given the lack of budget and such. This drama is pretty substantial in the terms of how they were able to deliver the dialogue, scenery, and etc.

I found the romance to be cute which is still good. It's not steamy like other people have commented but I do want to remind people that you are watching a tv series that is rom-com type and not an erotica.

Still a solid show imo and I will definitely be back on rewatching it!

Cliché troupe with murder mystery ROMCOM

Mar. 13, 2023

WHOA.

Another KDRAMA I have finished this year, Crash Course In Romance is such a cute and sweet Kdrama to watch. The plot is very normative but the casts that play their roles are just too good at their delivery. To be honest, the only weak point that this show had or my very huge critique were that:

First of all, the murder mystery troupe just did not give any flavour or a sense of interest for me. I think it was very stale and bleak in terms of the writing process and just the overall progression. I feel like instead of doing this route, they could have focused more on the youngsters. Since they really made the show more interesting than the murder sub plot.

Second, I feel like that the problematic Moms weren't given proper character development. It was too fast and that there wasn’t really any sense of logic behind it. I definitely have huge irk with the last 4 episodes of the series. Like, especially with the biological Mom being added last minute. WTF was that - my literal reaction.

Aside from these two major things. Nothing else really bothered me. The couples were lovely both in the older generation and the younger generation. I really wish the youngsters had more screen time than the annoying murder arc!!

That's all.

Rom-Com to start your 2023

Feb 14, 2023

Waw, a show I binged during Valentine’s Day. It was good, sweet, and concise. Love to Hate You is definitely a show I will rewatch to replenish my dopamine. It's just to cute, fluffy, and also really hot. I guess since the casts are aged up more, I love the dynamics that they have. Especially between our leads, I feel like they are very healthy in terms of their relationships. Sure there are some misunderstandings here and there. But it is not to great extent where it makes me despise the show.

Overall, I like how the 10 episode format. Because of this there are stupid plot being thrown in the middle to make up for the running time.

I'll miss the cast so much and thank you binge studios for bringing this show into light. LOVED BINGING IT!!

cute fluffy rom-com to end the year 2022

Dec. 24, 2022

Gaus Electronics is a cute heartwarming fluffy rom-com to end the year. I feel like the Kdramas released lately for the past year or so has been very heavy and dark. So it is nice to have some rom-com to replenish and have like a break from these angsty melodramas.

Overall, Gaus Electronics follows the cliché troupe but I eat it up. Though I must say, I was more interested with the second lead couple plot more. I think it was just personal preference, I feel like the main lead just didn’t give me that suspense or interest to keep myself hook-up with their plot.

Highschool bullies type troupe

Dec. 18, 2022

Revenge of Others had a strong start but after the halfway troupe it regresses in terms of plot and writing. Likewise, I do have strong praise for the casts as they acted and put justice for their characters.

I feel like it is due to the fact that I watched more action-infused dramas and movies in the last few months more than usual that’s why I am a little harsher on my critique. Nevertheless, I do think that 12 episodes were sufficient though the ending seems rushed and concluded with many plot holes. Episode 12 was definitely the hardest episode to finish from the series.

Overall, I definitely have strong mixed opinions with the drama.

TLDR: Above average but not the best (in terms of plot progression and writing wise) highschool bullies x revenge troupe kdrama

Mafia shi

Sep 20, 2022

Kinnporsche is quite a different ride, this drama was recommended to me by a friend. So I had some hopes up with it and then I realize that we don't have the same taste in dramas...

Although mafia theme shows are something I am a huge sucker for, I can say that Kinnporsche kept me hooked to continue watching until the next episodes. Although, I did skip some scenes that didn't feel relevant to the main plot. There are some sub plots that kinda just was there to fill up some spaces, some loved it but personally for me I did not. I guess the only subplot I really liked was VegasPete. It's toxic, I know that, and typically speaking I wouldn't want that relationship either as that will drive me insane (not in a good/kinky way yk).

Personally for me, I think it was the casts that made up for the underwhelming plot of the series. I think the way the actors portray their characters make you turn off your brain and just take in whatever is happening without any complaints.

As for anything else, I just wanna emphasize on the ending? It's a little serrated... I feel like it wasn't a full closure...? or maybe they kept it open for season 2...? I feel like there was just some questions that should have been answered. But it is what it is...

fluffy but taboo romance

Sep 18, 2022

Minato Coin Laundry is one of those controversial dramas I have finished. I think the age gap between the leads can be concerning. Like I understand what the writers have done by providing past contexts between the leads but it just won't do it for me.

I guess if you can turn a blind eye into this then you should be fine with watching this show. The drama itself is fluffy but we do have a very persistent lead, Shin, and another lead who can be going around in circles, Minato. During the whole time I felt some frustration towards the progress of the story due to some dragging of the plot. However, I guess the casts' acting really made everything bearable to the point where the plot holes became unnoticeable.

So this drama is for those who just want a quick fluff with a persuasive male lead and I guess a contrasting flustered-always-yet-clumsy male lead

Extraordinary literally

August 26, 2022

Extraordinary Woo Young Woo is that drama, it is so good. The plot is uncommon and really plays with the strings of your heart. Contrary to the popularity opinions, the reason I couldn’t give a solid 10/10 rating was because I feel like the romance really did not upheld and live the expectations tied to the plot. I know that Young Woo deserves a good love life but I feel like the romance became disproportionate to the given context of the whole series. I feel like the Male Lead babies here to point where it feels like he is her babysitter and not partner. Obviously, this is something that irks me the whole time as to why I just decided to fast forward their scenes as I feel like it became like a plot filler instead.

Overall, I love all the cases they encountered and how the morally grey area in laws plays part. I think it is a good eye opening to many people to realize how some people who "win" court battles are not always morally right and that they simply have the privilege to manipulate and bend the rules to have it in their favour.

As for my hopes for season 2, I want Young Woo to have a good relationship with her estranged half-brother. I loved and lived for their short interactions in episode 16. Honestly Young Woo is the best sister ever, the fact that she put her brother first and plead to their mom about how she should be a better to the brother because Young Woo never experienced a mother figure in her up bringing really made me tear up.

I usually rewatch my Kdramas so maybe I'll like the romance portion of this show if I watch it in the near future. But until then, I can’t say that the romance is well-fitting between Young Woo and the male lead.

Easy to digest with some very little angst

July 3, 2022

Waw another Kdrama that I finished. As an avid badminton enthusiast and a player, this drama really hits close to home. Sure, I may not have pursued badminton as a career, but it really made me wonder if I followed this route instead of going to college. I really miss badminton and sure maybe I was on the high school team but those years spent were really memorable for me.

Back to the review, the main characters were not perfect and I love how they showed their flaws. It makes them more human if you know what I mean, as for the second lead couple. HOLY FAWK. I love and live for their scenes. There are points in the series where they were the ones I was looking forward to. The dynamic of both couples was just adequate. As for Taejun's mom, literally was the biggest eye sore. I still can't believe her actions or the way she thinks. It literally boils my blood.

Anyway, I think this drama is perfect for those who want the easy to digest with some very almost none existent angst to spice it up. If you are an avid fan of potato boy (if u get the reference then ur my bestie now), make sure to watch this 😉

Tears, tears, and endless tears !!!MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!

Feb. 12, 2022

!!!!MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!

I bravely watched this drama as I already have an idea of what the ending will be like. But it still hurts, it took me a while to finish the drama especially after episode 11, as it became gloomy and man I was going through some shits too. So I took a couple of weeks off before finally finishing this. Snowdrop is that drama, not perfect and flawless, but it has such a huge impact on me.

The actors really did well especially to my girl, Jisoo, I am really proud of her acting here. Now I can see why she got in at YG through her acting audition. She is excellent, I hope that she pursues more acting endeavours in the future. I do hope its not as gloomy as this one. As for Haein, man, he rocks, I love his acting as well. I feel like their chemistry is really off the charts. Every time I see their scenes together I wanna scream cause I can't deal with it. I feel butterflies hehehe 🦋

DO I RECOMMEND SNOWDROP? Of course, I do, though prepare yourselves some tissues. yea tissues. Lots of them.
I wanna say I hope you have fun, but fun is far from this series. 😉

Awesome youth cdrama

Jan. 7, 2022

A River Runs Through It is definitely a strong youth drama. The plot is very realistic and the leads have interesting stories, perspectives, and emotions to tell. What I love about this drama is how it made certain parts or characters in the end have an unpredictable ending. I know maybe certain viewers might not like it, but it makes it more realistic as our lives are not predominantly predictable in any shape or form.

I really love our male lead here, Shi Yi really sets the bar so high for all the other male leads in the CDRAMA world. Also can we talk about his character development? Like he really stepped up his game. I love this man so much, I don't think I can ever forget him especially on how he treats Xiaoju. From how he accepted everything and how he did that to build on himself. His character is such a chef's kiss in my opinion. He deserves everything, and to be honest, there are certain points where I got frustrated with the female lead since she is taking her god damn time. LIke sis hello.

As for other characters, there are some twists and turns that made my heart ache but I won't mention it too much since that will ruin the fun. But I feel like each character was wrapped nicely along with their own subplot. As much as I hate the writers for how they did some characters dirty. I am happy with their endings.

THO I MUST SAY, this the slowest burn youth Chinese drama I have watched as of this date. A very roller coaster ride but I definitely loved it. I really felt like that I grew up with the characters starting from their high school journeys to their University life then to their early adulthood.
