Randomly deciding? Everything that happened was a direct result of Lu Feng’s explosive and abusive behavior, so yes, Yi Chen is going to choose his family over that. What’s WRONG is seeing your partner be so emotionally exhausted and still asking him to choose you. Lu Feng is a toddler and to my understanding you’re one too.
The sooner you can think critically the better. Yi Chen choosing to fill his mother’s dying wish is not some…
“I never victimized Lu Feng, who was also abused btw”
Just proves my point, no one cares if you choose to inflict the same abuse onto people you allegedly care about. That only explains it, not excuses it.
The sooner you can think critically the better. Yi Chen choosing to fill his mother’s dying wish is not some…
Yeah, because you’re victimizing an abuser and a grown ass man. Xiao Chen “knows” this and separated himself which clearly proves that Lu Feng is NOT making decisions he agrees with.
It’s not pointless to uphold family tradition, especially in Asian households where that standard is generational. Xiao Chen can take a step back from himself and realize that because that’s still his mother.
If Lu Feng was an actual adult and could think about the bigger picture and not just what was given at face value, he’d understand that their relationship was complex. That it was deeper than her not approving of him and was her morals, likely passed down through their families lineage, that she wanted to keep.
If he were patient enough and did not just take what he believed was his, this wouldn’t have gotten worse. They probably could’ve reconciled sooner.
I agree with you the part where Lu Feng also outed the side couple was so unfair. I think that Xiao Chen and Lu…
It’s not impressive, it’s abusive. Lu Feng wants Xiao Chen to give up the only stability he has left in the name of love. That is a textbook abuser because what happens when they break up? He’ll have no one, which leaves opportunity for him to be sucked back into the toxic mess again.
Lu Feng could’ve avoided all of that if he could emotionally regulate, the main reason we got to this point…
No one is perfect, is true, but Lu Fengs actions were deliberate, they were conscious, whether he was high on emotions or not.
I just can’t feel sympathy for someone who grapes and abuses his partner in the name of love. Why WOULDN’T they call the police on someone who has hurt TWO people in the span of a few hours? Lu Feng is not some love-sick man, he’s an abuser.
The people in here babying Lu Feng for active choices he keeps making around the person he’s supposedly “loves” is ridiculous. Imagine being so emotionally distraught by already having your mother, homophobic or not, dying and asking you to still uphold the tradition. Someone as selfless as Xiao Chen will not put his emotions or relationships before that, which is admirable but also a bit sad.
Mind you, Lu Feng outed him in front of his mom BEFORE putting her into shock, then pushed his brother down the stairs, after yet AGAIN forcing himself onto Xiao Chen. He’s so violent and seems allergic to compromise, which in any ADULT relationship is needed. Xiao Chen didn’t initially want to end things, just to take a break so he could focus on what was important. However, Lu Feng, like the toddler brat he is, selfishly becomes angry when he already sees how distraught Xiao Chen is? Of course he isn’t thinking about his rELatiOnsHiP, like the fuck?
Now, episode eight, we see Xiao Chen completely give up after Lu Feng aggravates his mother YET AGAIN and stands there like the victim.
Xiao Chen isn’t the villain. He isn’t selfish. He isn’t weak. He’s a person who’s had to give up everything to uphold his family’s tradition, and unfortunately (which was very realistically done) Lu Feng was collateral damage. Anybody looking at the story from all sides and not just victimizing Lu Feng can see that.
The satisfaction I felt with ep 8 ending was divine. yi chen makes Lu feng feels like someone just obsessed with…
Lu Feng could’ve avoided all of that if he could emotionally regulate, the main reason we got to this point is because of his violent outbursts. I don’t care how bad he “loves” him, if you’re hurting the people around the person you love, how bad do you really care about them?
Episode 8 pissed me off. Fuck everyone except Lu Feng. The wedding was pointless and stupid. He kept dreaming…
The sooner you can think critically the better. Yi Chen choosing to fill his mother’s dying wish is not some act of betrayal especially after the one who PUT her into shock was Lu Feng. Then he pushed his brother down the stairs, Yi Chen doesn’t have the mentality capacity to think about a romantic relationship when the only two family members he has left were hurt?
Imagine your boyfriend doing that to you and then asking to fight for a relationship HE put into jeopardy.
People's take on Yichen's decisions really don't take real human emotions into consideration. I'm constantly hearing…
EXACTLY! Imagine being so emotionally exhausted, your mother is dying and the one who caused it is asking you to fight for the relationship? At what point do his emotions feel validated?
As a person who hates violence i don't agree with you here. Lu feng despite being the person who has always seen…
You people have no brains. Explaining Lu Feng’s actions isn’t the same as excusing them. Being frustrated, provoked, or deeply in love doesn’t change the fact that he repeatedly uses force when emotions run high. The brother’s behavior may explain why he reacted, but it doesn’t prove that criticism of his violent tendencies is wrong.
