Anyone else feel SMZ is still somehow alive? I don’t know why but I have that feeling. Will add feedback once…
SMZ is destined to die. For the sake of the plot, his character cannot survive. Presumably, the dying man hides in the place where he met his beloved and dies in her arms. His body will never be found so that the legend circulates around the world that he is alive and gives people hope and bards a theme for their songs. At least I, being a bard, would write such a song :)
If I were asked that question by an actor, not a character, I would answer: "If you died, my heart would break…
If they keep SY's character steadfastness, loyalty and patriotism, I will definitely enjoy the drama. I had a huge dissatisfaction in JoL. I need more YBY. I hope we won't have to wait long to see what kind of character SY will be :)

Thank you for this information. It gave me hope. SY reminds me a bit of YBY from JoL and I love that type of character. I love men who can sacrifice private happiness for higher goals.
The trailer was very biased. It absolutely did not go to my heart or my mind. However, I understand that most of this drama's target audience is young girls dreaming of love. Of course, we don't know how the drama will be led. We don't know how far it deviated from the book. I hope SY stays true to his ideals and his vows, because if he gave them up for love in the drama, I wouldn't be able to respect such an ML.
Anyway, you gave me some hope that maybe ML will be my type after all, despite that unpleasant trailer for me. Thank you :)
Im 28, I always knew I was a child deep in my heart because I'm really enjoying this one >.
Unfortunately, the passing years and the experiences we gain make us look at the world differently. In addition, the more a person experiences, the more they come into contact with reality, the harder it is for them to believe in fairy tales. It is no longer enough for him in a movie that they love each other so beautifully. He really needs something more in the plot. This doesn't mean that all these anime or teen series are bad. They just don't meet our needs anymore. It's... sad because we are losing something that really gave us fun. But on the other hand, we are starting to understand dramas that we used to find boring and too complicated. When I watched Douluo Continent (a fantasy c-drama) I didn't identify with the main characters, but with their masters and had a great time. When I watch drama now, I more often identify with the parent, guardian, teacher, old king instead of the young and naive main character. And you know what, you can find a lot of pleasure in that too. Of course, if that character is portrayed well :) So I prefer not to think that I lost something, but that I gained a new perspective.
No the rating is not why the people think like you lol, but enlighten me what your 14 year old likes? IE?
Yes, and sometimes it only takes a few minutes to love a drama or hate it. Sometimes all it takes is one character's smile for you to not be able to tear yourself away from the screen, sometimes one sentence will put you off forever when others rave about it being a masterpiece. It's completely an individual taste.
If I were asked that question by an actor, not a character, I would answer: "If you died, my heart would break…
To me, the whole trailer was creepy. I really hate plots where a teenage girl seduces a priest who has vowed celibacy. I can put up with her seducing a teacher, although I find it totally unethical, but never a priest who vows chastity. I grew up with the idea that vows should be kept. Depending on the circumstances, one can be released from the vow, or release oneself from the vow, but the justification for giving up the vow may be that it was forced, not that one has found great love. I may not be a romantic, but I have never in my life thought it permissible to sacrifice honor, country, beliefs, or someone's life for love. So if ML has even a little bit of honor and sense of duty in his heart, this drama will be an endless torture for viewers. I wish you to enjoy the show.
Now a side note. Totally lack of romance and I belong to the people who think that love is a chemical disorder in the brain. A chemical imbalance in the brain can have symptoms of mental illness, which is why some people "love to madness". If ML has been forced at a very young age to take this path in life rather than another, if he has convinced himself that he must live this way, and suddenly there is someone who gives him something he has never known - love, he can really begin to descend into insanity. A person with strong ideals colliding with unfamiliar emotions experiences a strong emotional conflict. If there is no one to ease the tension, if both sides pull in their own direction (the superior in one direction and the lover in the other), an emotional breakdown is almost certain to occur. A person cannot live in such a state. There is a very high risk of destructive or self-destructive behavior. The person in the process may be released from the vow, because forcing the person to keep the vow may lead to irreversible mental changes (insanity) and even death. This is the only case where love can justify a departure from the oath.

I for one am watching AoS for ML. He's funny Sometimes it's hard for us to pinpoint why we keep watching a drama. Maybe there's an element of it that works on our subconscious, or maybe it's just something we need at that moment. Or maybe there is nothing better at that moment. Liking the characters is certainly an argument to watch something despite other shortcomings :)
Wow, the last part of the trailer killed me. His expression... I really wanted to hug him and tell him, that "yes,…
If I were asked that question by an actor, not a character, I would answer: "If you died, my heart would break and I would follow you." How lucky I am to be older than him :)
Im 28, I always knew I was a child deep in my heart because I'm really enjoying this one >.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for that :) I've been enthralled by c-drama, wuxia, Heroes lately. Of the k-dramas, I was entertained by From Now on it's Showtime. So there are still dramas that make me excited. I don't know if this is the place to say, but the c-drama The Untamed has captured the hearts of a lot of women in every age group. Even a famous 50+ singer admitted that she was thrilled. Likewise two famous actresses 40+..Don't read the comments because the drama has a lot of crazy fans, but I was brought to my knees by this drama at about the seventh minute. ML knows how to stir up emotions like few others. The drama itself is a 5/10 for me, but I've seen it a minimum of 10 times and always with pleasure. This guy just evokes a special kind of emotion in women,
I mean... It is a drama written by Hong sisters - they dont do overly complicated dramas 🤷♀️. Its like…
But actually, there is no need to change the style if there is a demand for the existing style in the market. The audience likes it, has fun, spends money, and that's fine. It's only sad when these viewers can't accept that someone may not like the style and go to extreme reactions. I haven't beaten anyone yet for saying something bad about Kill Me, Heal Me, which I consider to be a masterpiece. I really appreciate your objectivity about the Hong sisters' work :)
I don't see how this copies xianxia. To me, this is western fantasy. Very typical western fantasy in a Korean…
I also hope that fantasy in Korea will develop in a good way. I'm glad that you visited my country and that you liked it :) To anyone who likes historical books with elements of adventure and beautiful romance I recommend it: With Fire and Sword, The Deluge, Fire in the Steppe by Henryk Sienkiewicz. War, heroism, sacrifice, love and heroes you can't forget, if you manage to read their names :) And for fans of historical-fantasy novels, the work of the author of The Witcher, Hussite Trilogy, where the author draws extensively on medieval Europe and praise for it :) No country, no culture is an isolated island (well, unless it is literally so) so we will always find in it the influence of other cultures and we don't even know it. The very term magic and magicians came from Persia, just like the game of chess so popular in Chinese dramas and even poker.

Ah, and the matter was cleared up. I don't do buckground research on dramas. Something that looks interesting comes up, I start watching. I like it, I praise it, I don't like it, I say why. There is no drama that everyone likes and I'm clearly not a fan of the Hong sisters' style. I'm glad you cleared that up for me. Out of curiosity, I'll check out their other works and see if they hit my taste :)
ratings are low bc these batshit cdrama stans keep on lowering it thinking this drama is copying their dramas…
Yes, I've already been made aware of this problem, but using strong language only inflames the conflict and I'm sure not all c-dram fans underrate raitings, so generalizing is quite hurtful. I've always been against punishing the general public for the misdeeds of individuals.
Im 28, I always knew I was a child deep in my heart because I'm really enjoying this one >.
Yes, my taste has changed but I still can't get over it, so I still watch dramas like I used to but I don't find the same pleasant experience anymore :(. Although recently I've been watching an old drama from 1995, Due South, and I'm just as enamored as I used to be, so maybe it's not just my taste but also the style of drama making that has changed. But yeah, every year I like less and less productions from China, Korea, Japan and the States. It really makes me feel old when young people get excited about something I've already seen in dozens of other dramas :( I feel like Obi-Wan Kenobi watching the new generation fight their battles and wondering if there's still a place for him in this world or if he should just retreat to the desert of Tatooine.
Korea adapted/remake from China:* Scarlet Heart Ryeo * A Korean Odyssey* A Love So Beautiful* Mr. QueenChina adapted/remake…
Do you happen to know what the title of the Chinese version of Kill Me, Heal Me is? I love the Korean version and would love to see the Chinese version. Of course nothing beats the original, but I'd like to see it nonetheless.
I don't see how this copies xianxia. To me, this is western fantasy. Very typical western fantasy in a Korean…
Yes, I am from Poland, a country that has no accomplishments in the film/drama market, but can write great fantasy. Why? Because along with a rich culture of our own, where West and East have always clashed, we boldly tap into our own imagination and other cultures. And there's nothing wrong with that. The Zerrikan in the original Witcher (book) were modeled after African countries. Skelige are a Northern European tradition. This book is dripping with Celtic, Norse, Slavic, Anglo-Saxon and God knows what else influences and no one has a problem with that. Why? Because it's fantasy, it's magic, it's a world that doesn't really exist but is woven from the author's imagination and if the author uses other cultures it's done out of sympathy and respect for that culture. So if this k-drama uses some elements from c-ent (although I didn't see them) c-ent fans should be happy about it.
I understand perfectly what you mean about the repetitiveness of xianxia and wuxia. There is definitely too much of the same. But I'm not a fan of Korean fantasy either because they don't have their own style yet. They're searching, learning and the results they present just don't appeal to me. Maybe one day that will change.
Im 28, I always knew I was a child deep in my heart because I'm really enjoying this one >.
When I was 28 I also had a child inside me and I also liked such dramas. Ah, Gu Family Book! Now I'm almost 40 and an old lady who can tell such tales to her grandchildren :( You see, us old people prefer more content and less flash. Or at least this old woman likes it that way.
No the rating is not why the people think like you lol, but enlighten me what your 14 year old likes? IE?
I believe it was 13 years old :) An uncomplicated story where you know who's with who from the beginning. FL, who explains everything in her thoughts, in case the viewer didn't guess something on his own, although he had it given on a platter anyway. Banal dialogues, banal jokes and a lot of CGI. Hey, I'm not saying this drama is a nightmare. It's like Xena: Warrior Princess. Merlin or Hercules. Just harmless entertainment.
I hope we won't have to wait long to see what kind of character SY will be :)

Again, have fun watching TLP :)
