I have watched 4 episodes. So far so good, nicely done visually. Actors are trying, although the main three are not acting masters. Only from the very beginning I got the impression that if you've seen two wuxia, you've seen them all. I think it's a characteristic of the genre. It's the same with xianxia. The first two or three you watch are great, and then you get the impression that you're watching the same thing again. That's why it's so important, despite some shortcomings imposed by the genre, to show something that makes the title stand out. So far I like the aesthetics of exposing the red, but I'm afraid it may soon tire me out.
I have lost interest. I watched a few more episodes out of momentum and a bit waiting for those explosive scenes that are shown in the credits, but I got so tired and bored that I quit. FL is terribly boring and bland. ML was fun, but it got boring. It's a waste of my time.
Dialogue heavy dramas are common, it's basically what every modern drama is. While watching I did two or three…
I will probably go back to this drama because it's brilliantly shot. There's a K-drama that I approached 2-3 times and quit on the first episode, now it's one of my favorites. I just had to wait for me to get in the right mood. All ahead of me :)
40 episodes is the rumor for now, which additionally claims that the number of episodes will decrease further.Mitu…
This looks more like a trend. Tencent can now expect some dramas to be bought by TV. Or maybe viewers really don't want water-filled, long-winded dramas anymore? Anyway, last time I checked, the 40 limitation was imposed on TV dramas. Actually when I saw that someone reported that TLP is supposed to have 50 episodes, I was surprised. You just don't see dramas that long anymore :)
There is no information on whether XZ is lending his own voice for the series, but judging by the rules that just went into effect and Xiao Zhan's character I think it is almost certain that we will hear his original voice. We know that other voice actors don't use voice actors, so he almost certainly won't either. Almost, because there is a slight possibility that it might not be possible due to the outbreak. That eventuality is very small.
Is it true that the drama has only 40 eps? I saw it somewhere that the drama now has only 40 eps?
40 episodes is the rumor for now, which additionally claims that the number of episodes will decrease further. Mitu is somewhat correct, but not entirely. The episode limitation is for dramas shown on television, not for dramas shown on the internet. If this drama is aimed at television, it won't have more than 40 episodes but I saw an interesting workaround in the case of Douluo Dalu. The material was exactly the same but the TV episodes were 50 minutes long and there were less of them, whereas the ones on WeTv were 40 minutes long and of course there were more of them. Even The Oath of Love had a different number of episodes on TV and on the platform, although the content was the same. So fewer episodes doesn't necessarily mean that there will be less material, they may just be longer, adapted to the needs of certain TV stations :)
I'm on episode 7 and so far there have been some comical scenes and some idiotically boring ones. I guess every drama has to have certain tropes to fill time or to "capture the hearts of the viewer". My heart is not captured by such tropes, rather discouraged. But ML and 2ML and their aides are cool. 2FL is pretty good, too. What I don't understand is why in most of the dramas I watch, FL is hopeless? It's like it's unfashionable to show a really fragile woman and dangerous to show a really strong one, so something bland comes out. But hey, I'm only on episode 7 and the heroine can still show some character.
Main male lead is an interesting character in drama for sure but in real life shouldn't people like him is the…
You are the son of a king, raised from childhood in an atmosphere of deceit and dirty fighting for the throne. You are sent on a mission to wage war and destroy the enemy who murdered your brother. You use every means possible because you don't know that there could be another way. After all, you are only 18 years old and you know what the scheming adults have taught you. You meet a girl - a tool - and you learn something you've never known which is love. Things get out of your control (the attack happened not when you planned it and not the way he planned it). So you hurt the girl for the sake of a greater cause. Your heart breaks because you hurt the one person you loved. When she throws herself into the abyss, you throw yourself after her. You lose your memory. You meet a girl and fall in love with her but you know that if you show your love for her, she will become the target of attacks by jealous and powerful people. You hurt her, but you believe you are saving her from death. Meanwhile, she treats you like a dog. Deservedly so, at first. But she suddenly becomes hysterical at the sight of you and screams that she hates you, that she loves only XiaoWu. She loves another. You try to talk, but she still only hates and you don't understand why. You want to explain all the misunderstandings and she stabs you with a knife. You get mad because you don't understand. You love and you don't understand why she hates so much. Finally, you start to hate XiaoWu and you kill him. Then, on the battlefield, you are able to withdraw your army just because she asks you to, and she... Sorry, to me ML's character is more tragic. Maybe I just sympathize more with the heart of a man and understand the mind of a man more than the hysterical heart of a teenage girl. For me, his every behavior, every action was logical and understandable and his tragedy, where family is not family, where you don't know who to trust, where you have to lie to survive moves me more than a girl who doesn't understand that there really are bigger issues than her right to love. After all, before she married him she knew that he had massacred her grandfather's tribe and she could live with that. She couldn't live with the idea that she had been lied to and taken advantage of by the man she loved. That was her tragedy.
I understand the viewers' positive evaluations, but I do not share them. Yes, the drama has some good elements, but it's far from a masterpiece. The plot may appeal to some, but not to everyone. Not everyone likes to watch a spoiled teenage princess who is boring, typical and thinks she can do everything. Not everyone likes naive kids who destroy the lives of themselves and others just because they can't understand reality. Some just yawn at the overly tragic scenes. I watched the drama solely for the ML, which was interesting. But FL is kind of a nightmare. If I knew a girl like that in real life, I'd either send her to a psychiatrist or put her over my knee and beat the hell out of her romantic flings.
https://twitter.com/todaysmelons/status/1526382309175308289Another rumour, but what got me excited is possibility…
Suppose they want all four of them to star in this drama (I mean the fans, not the producers, since this is clearly a fan-made rumor). Anyone who has been dealing with c-dramas a little longer not on tw and the like, but more through Chinese media knows that Chinese fans will never allow such an arrangement of actors. In China, the position of an actor on the list is extremely important. Here we have three giant names and one big name. I'm not talking about acting skills, just popularity. Let's assume that XZ as a gentleman will give way to ladies, but actress fans will have a regular blood war and whose name will appear first. Besides, the position of these actresses makes it impossible for any of them to play 2FL. As for the gents, if Immortality ever sees the light of day, LYX will gain a lot of new fans, but even more toxic fans. With XZ anti-fans, the internet will be torn to shreds. This combination of actors may be a dream for the fans, but for the producers, it's a nightmare that will eat up too much money and risk putting the project on ice forever due to bad fan behavior. This is why I say that such a project is unrealistic. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable.

Someone who comes up with such rumors must not only have an unbridled imagination, but also not a clue about C-ent. Two goddesses, a god and a prince in one production? ABSOLUTELY UNREALISTIC.
The style of filming, the aesthetics and even the acting reminds me of The Wolf. They were filmed around the same time. GMP, however, premiered earlier and avoided being butchered by the censors. I suspect that if they had reviewed a little later, GMP would have had to sacrifice a few scenes too. I mention this because The Wolf was the first drama of this style for me, so I'm rating it slightly higher so far. Both have that idiotic tragicism, but The Wolf had some comedic elements that I don't see in this drama so far. I'm watching GMP for now because it has more pluses than minuses, but like The Wolf it has brilliant and hopeless elements. It's watchable, but I'm on episode six and there hasn't been anything that's made my heart beat faster yet. Putting the protagonist in a situation of certain death and making it a cliffhanger every other episode is kind of boring when you know he's going to live for at least 40 more episodes. After all, ML can't die at the beginning of a drama unless he's supposed to reincarnate :)
From what I've heard, just old rumors, which you can check out a few posts below. Recently, it's been a trending rumor that he will be appearing in a drama with Song ZiEr, where he will play the CEO. The rumor is cool enough that many fans would like to see him as the domineering CEO, especially after the commercials from earlier this year and it would be a whole new incarnation of Xiao Zhan. Plus, shooting for a drama like this usually takes a short time and the role doesn't require much preparation. But of course, these are just rumors and fantasies of longing fans :)
Xiao Zhan should go home and visit his parents in Chongqing. Beijing could be the next city for the Covid 19 lock…
He is not of those who flee from danger. Besides, if he has a job in Beijing, there is no way he can leave. During the previous lockdown he was also in Beijing doing dubbing for Douluo Dalu and recording two or three songs, so even during the lockdown he can work and besides, maybe this will be an opportunity for him to read some new scripts or catch up as a reader and as a viewer? A lot of fans are definitely worried about him but he can take care of himself plus the people working at XZ Studio really care about him. I'm sure they love him no less than we do and will keep him safe :)
I ❤ him, can't wait for The Longest Promise. The sweetest guy but also with the most unhinged fans 😅
I don't know how horrible of an experience you've had that you're so negative about his fans, but you're talking about a group that is considered the most responsible and understanding fan group in China that has been shown as a role model many times. Of course every actor has unbalanced fans, but as a group compared to others Xfx have earned the respect of passersby. And they have a basis for that. I'm sick of people reading some lie from a few years ago and blaming his fans for everything. It has been proven and explained thousands of times that the fans were innocent and that all the action was caused by paid marketing. For over two years now someone keeps telling the world what bad and crazy people Xfx are, but no one gives evidence. Will there ever come a day when fans of other actors stop dumping all the dirt on Xfx? They do ten times worse things themselves, but only Xiao Zhan fans are publicly lynched. It's been like this all through 2020, everything bad in this world is Xfx. Fans of other actors tear each other to shreds and no one notices, and when Xfx says even one word that can be used against them, it is immediately used. I'm not saying this in your context because I don't know you. It's just that there's been a wave of people spitting on Xfx again and I don't know what for. Your comment just gave me a place to express my powerlessness. Because if Xfx start defending themselves, they will be considered unhinged fans. But honestly, if for years someone constantly blames you for something you didn't do and considers you the worst evil, you might lose patience. Xfx are at the end of the day just people too, not walking saints.
I don't know why there are so many negative comments , I have seen this drama for 4 times already and about to…
Because the drama was watched by a lot of kids who were enthralled with the anime and the drama is definitely different from the anime in almost everything. The anime was (or is) very popular and if someone is a die-hard fan of the anime, there's no way they'll like the drama. It bothers them that the actresses have too long skirts and too small breasts and such. Additionally, those who have read the book also have their own ideas about the characters and there are always plenty of voices against how the adaptation was done. I treat this drama as a completely separate creation and I have also watched it several times and had a great time doing so. Especially on episode two.
this is not even a totally serious serial... Hell!?dropped @ eps 6
Later it gets very serious when the boys go through a baptism of fire. The drama was shot by two directors - one specializes in military style romantic idol dramas (boring and poor quality) the other director does decent military scenes, gives serious psychological elements. I don't like the first one, the second one is excellent. It's a bit of a shame that this discrepancy is clearly seen in this drama. Episode 18 is decent serious work, episode 19 is excellent and after that it is often quite serious. I'm not urging you to watch it. I just know that the beginning irritated me too, but the second half of episode 18 totally surprised and impressed me. This is exactly how the baptism of fire should be shown in my opinion. The aftermath of that baptism is also shown very well. There are some memorable scenes there.
