Completed watching 6 eps and previews of tomorrow's eps.. It's fast paced, interesting. We got comedy, bit of romance, confused feelings of ML, a neck strangling and some powerful flashbacks of angst and blood spittings and that big white snake in the 6 eps only.
Have just completed watching 4 eps and it's funny. Seems like the first eps are for compensation of angst. The dubbing felt weird for like 2 eps but now it's not bothering me. Bye bye! Off to watching the left eps.

I think any person who doesn't like acting of a certain actor won't give more than 3 chance to that actor's dramas. Let alone watching most of the dramas.
If someone watches most of the dramas of an actor, then logically there is just one reason they are a huge fan who enjoys watching that actor's acting. But as you have claimed to have watched most of her dramas even her older ones, "only to criticise her acting here", you know the reason for this better.
Saying all her characters feel the same after claiming to have watched her most diverse roles like AMA, OAO, OG, NW, Legends, Tteom etc makes it pretty clear the issue isn't her acting range, it's selective perception. And you have even rated AMA well, it can be for xu kai though if not for her. Anyways she's shown versatility across genres and character types. If someone still insists on downplaying that, it starts sounding less like critique and more like an old fandom grudge dressed up as an opinion.
Saying you have never disregarded her as an actor and then stating she has lacking range is purely contradictory.
It's fair to have personal preferences, but saying she plays similar roles feels a bit dismissive when she's delivered such varied performances whether it's historical, Republican, slice of life, romcom or fantasy(including 2 non idol dramas where such roles cannot be portrayed by any actor who lacks range ) She isn't any one dimensional actor which you are portraying her to be. It's okay not to be a fan but let's not pretend range isn't there just because it doesn't align with your bias.

I'd suggest to watch One and Only, Forever and Ever, Northward, Arsenal Military Academy, The Legends, Ordinary Greatness, Song of Youth etc before forming opinion about ALL her characters. Because her way of acting in these is quite different from her recent dramas. Especially OAO and NW. I personally think these are her career best performances which shows her versatility and range as an actor better. If someone questions why she is so regarded as an actor, these dramas are a must watch to know.

It has a follow up drama as well to heal. I know it's hard to watch knowing it's a tragic ending. Even I watched it after months of putting it on hold. But yeah it made me go through all those emotions and felt worth crying and now watching it's sister drama (modern) which is of their reincarnation.

Tbh putting down these two actresses in the comments and again by calling one as granny and other as cringe in the review of THAT same drama which has nothing to do with them is not normal behaviour but the one driven by toxic fan culture. Seems like these two outdid your fav. But still cope better.
Started it and currently on ep 6 It's Good Imo not that fantastic type..Most of the time I am mesmerized by ARP's…
I just watched her in One and Only. Her character is too kind of soft and full of innocence. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend to check that out. As for this drama, as the story unfolds, her character does become better.
