They are in the book, but none of them really are in the series. I like they mostly changed that.I think they kept vague references in to make the book fans happy, but it’s silly. I don’t believe any of these guys are.

Filler? All the characters spent 4 episodes trying to get them together. The entire plot revolved around them. Maybe they just aren’t your thing, and that’s cool there are 4 couples. But they are definitely not filler.
