I like this version too, but for some reason I like the anime movie just a tad more. Don't get me wrong, they both made me cry. But maybe because I watched the anime movie first, not knowing much what would happen, it made me cry more than this live action movie.
I really liked the actors/actresses who starred in this movie!
Ended up crying at the end when she opened the door and he was waiting for her. But, I eventually got pissed when she said "she lived her life, had kids, etc." when she left him a note to "wait for me, i'll come back". She knows that he'll follow her orders! Why would you do something so inhumane by letting him wait... forget about him... then come back 40+ years later just to leave again?!?
So wait, in the ending (after the lyrics credits), he finds a kitten and kitten runs to her... so is she's human again.... someone explain? Is she back-BACK or is that just a girl that just looks exactly like her?
Is this the finale? I was hoping there would be another sequel of her journey becoming the queen... instead of doing a scene flash-forwarding/foreshadowing it to the future.. Overall, it was great movie! Enjoyed every second of it.
Good looking, shirtless guys... That's about it. The plot was weak, dragged a bit and it got boring towards the end. I feel like they could've finished the movie within a shorter amount of time, instead of the 1 hr and 58 mins.
I was deceived. I thought it would be a happy, family movie with a hint of drama, but wasn't expecting waterworks towards the end. I was expecting the "tragedy" to be only the blindness plot, not the cancer and death.
This is incredibly unique and different... I LOVED IT! Some awkward scenes esp when Woo Jin is played by a female, but that's what makes this film great - his character is not limited to gender, race and age. Han Hyo Joo has really become one of my top Korean actress, even though I dropped Spring Walts. :P
Certainly a recommended movie! I don't think I'll forget this movie.
Since the manga is still ongoing and the movie was released in April 2017, it seems like the recent manga chapters adapted some portions of the movie . I just hope the ending of the manga is different from the movie because I wasn't feeling the ending.
The movie was okay for me. They left out some characters that were supposed to be part of their group of friends and Onoya was supposed to work with Yoake in the ReLife program. Overall, it was a good (not great, could've done better) adaptation. Those who hasn't read the manga or watched the anime will hopefully enjoy this film.
A good tearjerker! Just finished the movie and my nose is clogged. LOL! I knew it was going to be sad, yet I still ended up crying.
Just wanted to confirm, at the end, she really isn't married right? I got confused because she told one guy (after 2 years) she was married, but there was no ring and she chased after the male lead.
Even though I watched the anime, I also did enjoy this movie and the actors who played in it. People who watch or read the anime or manga will always tend to use it as a base of comparison to the film. Though I enjoyed, my only concern is, since it's a movie, I wanted to see more. I didn't want them to rush the progression of the story. If it was a movie, a 2 or 3 part sequel would be great!
I don't usually like watching movies that deal with time alteration since they, at times, dont translate well. This movie at first was straightforward, when she disclosed to the guy that her time flow is the opposite, that confused me as the story progressed. I had to imagine the story in her perspective to get a better grasp. Then, towards the ending when they showed her own time flow/perspective, I was happy and relieved to confirm that my understanding was correct. Overall, the movie was good. When you get the gist of the story, you'll appreciate the movie. When I realized they'll never get their happy ending, it made me tear up a bit.
Random, mind-boggling thought now that I think about it, since she said her time flow is the opposite, does that mean humanity in her future means extinction (going primitive, ice age, big bang, etc)? :-/
This is my third Nana movie this week, moving towards my fourth (Bakuman. next).
I found this movie quite boring. It's a typical teacher-student plot with bland acting. I wanted to know the backstory of the female character (why she's so timid), but they didn't even disclose it. I didn't feel the emotions of the characters and there were scenes where it was incredibly dragging. I wished there was more soundtrack or at least background music that could further bring out the feels of the scenes.
Just learned of the "2nd Lead Syndrome" from the previous comments, but damn, 2LS got me good in this movie!! I was totally shipping for Kosuke and Hatori to be together, but I guess you just can't beat the "childhood friends" card. Nonetheless, good movie! It had a lot of scenes that made me laugh hard.
It was alright. Not so fond of it - don't hate nor love it. It feels like 25% of the whole show was the boys fighting which could've been used for character development.
Cute, light, and refreshing movie to watch. Enjoyed but it was somewhat predictable and felt something missing. I really liked the voice of the female lead though. It's immensely better than those high squirrel-like Japanese voices I hear on OST of anime and other Japanese dramas.
I really liked the actors/actresses who starred in this movie!
Nonetheless, it was a great film!
