I went into this drama pretty much blind to how much I was going to be aching for a while after watching it. I don't regret watching it even though to this day I'm waiting and waiting for a follow-up to this. Sadly, our eighth prince won't be back from military leave until '19, so I doubt anything will happen before then, and I can't imagine doing it without him.
Oh, but Lee Joon Gi, my lord, the second I saw you that was it, you had me hooked. You really have your own love affair with the beautiful vulnerability he has while portraying the fourth prince. He drew me in, and I was as lost as Hae Soo to those charms.
IU btw in my opinion doesn't get enough credit for this portrayal. People harshly judge her, but she's going back in time as herself not as woman from that time period, so I loved it. I thought she was adorable, funny, as lost one would be going from one time period to another, and you saw the maturity of the character as the drama progressed.
Then, we have the rest of my princes who I thought were amazing. I follow them around every time one of them has a drama now because they were just outstanding. Ji Soo, really, he always hides for a while, and when he comes out and brings that tender vulnerability, it carves a place in your heart.
I think we all know the scene with Ji Soo and Lee Joon Gi that really once you see it, you'll never forget it. I think I cried a river of tears during it, and let me say bring tissues because you will sob buckets. Still, I wouldn't trade watching it for anything because it's a beautiful experience.
There is something to said about when casts share this kind of perfect chemistry, and really, this drama had that with ease. The music is beautiful and just as haunting as the drama itself. I don't understand why there's a follow-up to the Chinese one, and we are left hanging, but maybe in 2019 we'll finally get the answer we want.
Otherwise, please let Lee Joon Gi/IU star in something else together. That chemistry was perfect, and I believe it can be just as perfect in another drama. He said he wanted to be in a suspense romance with her (why he's so afraid of a rom-com I'll never know), so make it happen someone out there in kdrama land in 2018.
I really loved this drama. It can be very heavy at times, but there's a lot of humor, and the chemistry between the three leads is amazing. You've got a bromance. You've got two romances going on, and I think for me it is one of the best tri romances as well. You will not be disappointed with this one.
And I truly think when Jung Suk starts his seduction voice, it's really hard to resist him. lol The romance at times and the way his character would talk to the female lead was really one of the best parts about this. His character will say things out of nowhere, and you'll be grinning ear to ear.
And I loved the female lead. I haven't watched her in anything else, but I hear she's the kdrama queen of romantic comedy. She did a great job of making herself likable with these male leads.
Kyung-pyo is every woman's dream in this, but you'll find out early on why he is second lead. Still, again, he's hard to resist. lol I can see why some suffered from SLS when watching, but I think in the end Jung Suk's character will win you over.
It is really cuttttte, funny and lovable. The male lead plays your typical trying to be cold Japanese boy that you think she is going to have to win over, but, ah-ha, Taishi is special. He has these make you melt emotional eyes that tell a story that is different than most of the typical cold guys in these type of dramas, and I think that's where he breaks through where most seem to miss. You see there's more to his character as well especially with his background story.
Then, the story begins, and you see a very sweet love story that is endearing IMHO. I wish he would do another drama, but he's probably making better money in the film industry, so I can't blame him. The leads had perfect chemistry the whole way through as well.
It's nothing overly heavy, but there are some heavy parts in it at times, but really, you just find yourself rooting on these two because they are very likable as far as Japanese dramas go IMHO.
Also, with the whole use of green screen/CGI, the actors do a great job helping you to believe what you are watching. I was really pleased with that part of it, and it adds to the overall cuteness/funny factor as well.
I love the lead actor so much. He just has the most expressive eyes I've seen in any younger male Japanese actor thus far. Even when he's trying to act cold, those eyes tell a different story, so I'm really looking forward to this. I will read up on it before I watch it, but I think he could sell anything, so I'm not worried. :)
this was an ok movie, but taichi really has to work on his acting, he had no emotions whatsoever, the movie kinda…
Bravo to your post! He's one of the best up and coming actors in the movie/drama industry for Japan. Why does he have to be compared to someone else? He's got the most expressive eyes, beautiful smile, can cry, and yeah, he's also handsome (insane to think otherwise).
Yeon Woo Jin surprised me in this. His range of acting is superb. I thought this was gonna be a lighter drama (from the promos) which at times it is, but this really is heavy at times as well but in a great way.
Ladies, the man can kissssssss too, and she is not shy either which is nice. I really liked him to the point I watched another drama of his, and i loved him in that one too. He is very versatile in his acting, and I am a fan of a good male crier, and he definitely delivers.
Yes, the lead female can be over the top, but it is to balance out the two personalities. She really does a great job doing that, and I do believe emotionally she was really great to watch. I felt their chemistry from the first look to the end of the drama.
There is a mystery involved almost the whole way to keep you guessing as well, so that was interesting and added another layer to it.
Omg he needs more roles. He got his role in Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me nailed. Looking forward to seeing him…
He stole the show from the first lead in the first season no doubt about it. They practically got rid of him in the second to make sure they could showcase the lead couple IMHO.
I'll add one positive since there's so much negative (dang), and that is the first lead male finally has chemistry with the first lead female. The first one the second male lead was clearly more interesting to watch, so they basically got rid of his role, and they brought in tah-dah one that wasn't as desirable. lol It's pretty obvious kind of laughable if you think about it how obvious they made it.
I think it's okay for what it is a show that isn't supposed to be taken seriously, but it was nice to see the leads finally have chemistry. I binged it in a few days. He seemed so young in the first one, but he was starting to mature more as an actor in the second one.
This was an amazing drama beginning to end. Let's hear it for FIS for not becoming a boring and tedious long drama to finish but really finding a beautiful story to tell for 52 episodes about family, love and just humanity in general.
He was fantastic in Suspicious Partner. I felt kind of guilty feeling bad for the serial killer, but that's how good he was during it. They kind of shoved the whole romance aside for the serial killer angle which bugged me NGL, but there's something very alluring about him in the drama (they even gave him a makeover).
You feel a pull towards his acting, and he kind just takes over it towards the end. I can't wait to see him star in future roles because I think he'll be one to watch.
Rainie/Joseph have amazing chemistry is the bottom line here. It's messy at times, yes, but I think overall, it's a nice drama. Also, I think you see how far Rainie has come as far as acting here as well. She's evolved nicely into an older adult actress.
Beautiful, natural chem with Mike/Rainie is the bottom line here. It was my first drama, and I still think it's one of the best coming of age ones though I would give anything for a sequel (why these two won't do something now together befuddles me).
The first season was so great with all of them together. Of course, I loved Pick/Rome, but I thought Emma/Porsche were adorable as well. If you plan on watching the second series, the only thing worth watching is Pick/Rome unfortunately.
I really don't know why Pleng is so desperate but I think she is right when she tells Korn that he is stealing…
But Knock keeps going back to Korn, so the person she should be upset with is Knock because he is in the relationship with her. Instead, she just plays games and pretends, and she acts as if Knock is some victim.
The alcohol excuse is ridiculous as well. There were feelings there, and Knock had no problem exploring them using alcohol as an excuse.
He cheated end of story. I can't stand it when they hold on like this.
I had to watch the love scene over and over. Korn is so aggressive! I keep remembering Max telling Tul "me…
That is QAF aggressive. lol I do like how they contrast it with Knock's romantic sense, but I think poor Korn has been teased by Knock that he just became a beast after he finally saw Knock make that move. That passion was dying to come out of him.
I think with Korea and Thailand they push boundaries with kpop and these shows teasing the audience, bordering on are they or aren't they in terms of sexuality, and it seems to be working quite well for them. Also, I think these shows are the first to really tackle the idea of bisexuality for characters and falling in love with the person versus labeling it straight or gay. ;)
