Thank you for joining in the discussion. I appreciate your views and agree with your added distinction of malice.…
This is where we end the discussion. Emotional trauma does not follow logic, or does not always follow logic. Trauma responses are not rational, let alone logical. And to clarify, I never once stated or assumed Flora was doing things with the 'intent' to hurt himβ€”in fact, my previous comment explicitly stated she had no intention of harming Luke. We simply look at character development and narrative subtext differently. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, but I’m stepping away from this thread now.

I'm not usually fond of Miles in his shows but he is perfect for this role. he matches the character's demeanor.
Especially with his beta mode and her alpha mode.

love it. 😍

The story may deserve an 8 - but production doesn't
It is sad that they dropped the ball on this.
1. It introduces 1 story
2. It shows a different story
3. The continuity failed to deliver fluidity

Usually small production issues aren't even on my radar - but this was a real disappointment.
But it is becoming normal.

lol - you are looking at this from a logical standpoint, but that isn't how deep childhood trauma or human psychology works.

The Father Dynamics: Hating how your parent spoke to you doesn't magically erase the conditioning. Luke typing 'you don't have to be perfect to be loved' shows he is fully aware of the trauma, but habits ingrained since childhood become a person's default survival language. Knowing a behavior is flawed is entirely different from having the psychological tools to rewrite your brain overnight.

The Hotel Room: Getting drunk in a hotel room after being completely shut out and emotionally starved by the person you love isn't 'low self-control'β€”it is a human breaking point.

People telling Luke he is wrong doesn't mean his brain automatically knows how to navigate vulnerability differently and it does not mean he even accepts that he is wrong.

He seems rugged, but his core intention is never to harm Flora. Can you at least admit that?

Riiiight! And also LUKE manipulates and formulates his words in a way that makes FLORA feel like she is 100% in…
Questioning and trying to stop someone from being friends or using them as support - are not the same.

LOL - you do understand that he was an investor and Sun Yu was definitely running a scam?
If he were any other investor - they would have pulled their investment out ASAP.

An investor does not care about personal relationships - they care about their bottom line and that is losses and gains.

1 report of their fraudulent activity could destroy his entire investment.

She was not trying to be with them?
Was he trying to be with his childhood friend that she saw riding in his car - that he eventually explicitly drew the boundary.

You do not have to try to be with someone and it can still cause misunderstandings when you do not communicate.

LOL - DE88 - lol now you are really being picky but I am here for it. πŸ˜‚

First - no one blamed her for not knowing. The girl is just inept in emotional awareness - just as Luke is inept in a soft tongue - there is no blame - it just is.

The point of her living with someone for 6 years and not knowing they liked her is an example of her lack of emotional awareness. You ask why would she spend any time thinking her room mate liked her. My question is how can you spend 6 years living with anyone and not knowing they liked you?

πŸ˜‚ Flora has a severe lack of emotional awareness, both interpersonally and intrapersonally - she can't gauge other people's emotions nor can she gauge her own.

Also keep in mind that she knew Luke was jealous of her roommates interactions with her - yet she had no clue for 6 years that he like her. We can believe that or not - either way - it is an F on her. But she knew - just like she knew who kept delivering flowers to her - or why else would she keep them? On top of that her telling the male room mate who has a crush on her that she is in a relationship that is not right? πŸ˜‚ That is why he held on with hope...πŸ˜‚

LOL DE88 - he never took her on dates?
1. He wanted to take her places but she limited them budget friendly options according to her budget.
2. They can not be out too publicly since they are in a SECRET relationship
3. #1 cancels traveling out of town since that would be out of her budget.

LOL - all of that just to fill in your blanks - because this is a drama and we know they did not go on dates because the writers or production did not put them in or took them out.

LOL - also let's not forget that he did try to invite her out but she did not have a passport

AND WHY COULDN'T SHE TAKE HIM OUT πŸ˜‚
Luke did buy her flowers. Well his friend ordered them for her but someone else took them- she got jealous, did not communicate with him, had a misunderstanding, then she decided that the Friday they were supposed to spend together would be spent with her friends. There's that. πŸ˜‚

Did she buy him flowers
a birthday gift
a cake
did she cook for him
did she ever poor him a glass of water
lol - since we are looking at these things - other than their intimacy in his place what did she give him, what did she do for him?

He bought her a bag - it was too expensive
he bought her a gift from the ski resort - she declined it
he invited on a trip it was too expensive
on her birthday he took her to learn how to drive
lol she almost crashed his car
Then she gave him the only thing she ever gave him and accepted the only
thing she did not say was too expensive - his intimacy.

LOL - what else you got?
She withheld her heart, capped his spending, and treated him like a career stepping stone while he was completely lovesick. I will keep on repeating a career stepping stone or resource because the only thing she continued to ask of him was to remain at Lime and be her mentor. Never once other that the occasional compliment request did she ask anything else of him -

At this point, I don’t want the ending to decide who was β€œthe villain” and who was β€œthe victim.” I want…
There is no villain and there is no victim in this drama. These are two consenting adults who made choices. If anything, the focus should be on who made the bad choices and who decided on the corrective choices. Or on what there bad choices were collectively and their good choices collectively. For a reunion to work, both need to take accountability for their part in the breakdown, rather than putting one on a pedestal while the other does penance.

True. Oddly the words stupid and dumb don't trigger me when my kids use them. But the phrase that triggers me is SHUT UP! πŸ˜‚ - I do not know why those 2 words bother me so much. My sons can call each other idiots and I can ignore them or calmly say - stop calling your brother an idiot. But the moment one of them says shut up. My volume goes up about 5 bars. πŸ˜‚ - That goes to show that words aren't always weighed the same through relationships, households, cultures - etc.
