I've seen some comments wondering about YPJ and whether their dislike of her is due to the acting, or not, so I wanted to add my few cents lol
I've noticed in earlier episodes that Pingjun didn't seem to have scenes that did not in some capacity include Xueting or Changxuan. The writer seemingly doesn't know what to do with her outside of being a love interest. Even the few scenes that we got of her working at the opera house were usually intertwined with the MLs. I liked the first few episodes because she had something to do - she was investigating, meeting people, trying to figure out what happened. It was interesting, but now? Pingjun doesn't really have anything going on other than these ridiculous men. She isn't even really a female lead, she's just the love interest for all of them. I've only watched one of Ruohan's dramas before - The Best Thing - but I have watched episodes of her other works, and I personally do not think she's the issue here. At the end of the day, the actress is just following the script and the instructions given by the director. In my opinion, what's failing her here is the story, or rather lack thereof. As I said, Pingjun doesn't really have a storyline outside of her relationships. I wish we would get to see more of her working, writing plays, getting inspiration for said plays, enjoying time with her co-workers without Xueting or Changxuan appearing in the background. Just let Pingjun be Pingjun. Honestly, 22 episodes in, we don't know her as a person at all. We barely know anything about her. She exists almost as a perfect fantasy for the dudes around her. A damsel in distress (and she's constantly in distress, like let her chill for a second oh my god), someone to save. I hope the writer gives her some agency in the future episodes, but I won't be holding my breath.

Mariko and Sota were so domestic in this episode, it's adorable. Just date already!! lol

ughh i did think that was going to be the case considering that in the schedule where they announced the express package, the 10th of september was left empty sajkfhkdshdkghdgh they really want to 'force' people to buy express lol

that would be so random though 😭 all we saw of Will is that he's a good guy. I guess, we'll see. hopefully they won't ruin the Lumi/Will ship for this

maybe, but then the whole reason as to why zhitao is so mad/disappointed with luke is no longer there. so I wonder what they are going to do with that

I know that, maybe I should have phrased by initial comment better lol my point is exactly that grace is not in the show then someone has to be corrupt instead. it's not going to be luke for obvious reasons and it's not going to be will for obvious reasons too. so that only leaves Tracy which goes against her whole character. but I guess the screenwriter doesn't care 🤪

see, that's what happens when a screenwriter picks and chooses what they want and do not want to include from the source material. in the novel, most of their 'relationship' is literally fwb, so it makes sense that zhitao would sleep in the guest room to maintain that distance. here, where they are supposed to be dating, it doesn't make sense.also, in the novel, zhitao is a kicker lol so luan nian would get kicked a lot by her when they slept together lmao

the way he behaves now in the drama feels more similar to how he acted in the novel when they reunited and he already went through his character development lmao

i knew that they would make luke nicer but they made him too nice, too quickly lmao how are they going to make the misunderstandings believable when he's like this already lol

in the novel, he's only 6 years older than her. at the beginning she's 22, he's 28. don't know where you got 16 years from lol

yes, he even hired a private investigator to find her, but after contacting her friends (sun yu, i think), he came to a conclusion that she doesn't want him to find her, so he respected her decision and cancelled the investigator.

tbh a lot of things in their relationship were wrong at the time, but the thing that was her "last straw" was when she believed that he gave her a low score when evaluating her application for becoming a higher ranking employee (i don't remember what they called it exactly lol), resulting in her losing that competition. she assumed he was one of the two people that she knew gave her a low score, and when they talked about it, he didn't correct her (even though we later find out that he gave her a perfect score). and no, he didn't know where she was until years later because she changed her number and her parents number too, so he had no way of contacting her.

it's a happy ending in the novel

good to know that we're moving on from one group of very annoying ladies to another group of very annoying ladies........
