L&D is fluffy to me because the leads relationship pretty much throughout is straightforward with very little misunderstandings or any lies/betrayal. They trust each other regardless of outsiders. All that angst comes from outsiders. Same with pillow book. Imperial lord was very true to his fox once he figured out who she was. ( I don’t like the mortal world part- to me it’s a waste of time so I skip it lol). So I guess a strong and mature relationship with decent amount of trust what I’m looking for.

Is this fluffy or angsty? I have been avoiding this since I figured it was like Eternal Love/TMOP full of angst, misunderstandings and betrayals. Someone recently recommended it when I said I was looking for more "fluffy" Wuxia fantasy like "love and destiny" and "pillow book" where the main leads stick together and are straightforward for the most part with each other. I can only take so much melo so please let me know the fluffy to angst ratio please.

Drama was solid as a stand-alone, but it had very little to do with the novel, ML was actually the complete opposite of the novels QJF. I liked the actor and he did a good job playing the character created by the drama. Maybe someday someone will make a real adaptation.

Looking for “fluffy” fantasy style dramas. This is my favorite fantasy drama because the leads stay true to each other and most of the melodrama comes from outsiders not between the leads. I had to drop eternal love of dream because it got too over the top for me, but I really loved the pillow book (except for the time the imperial lord did his stint on earth) for the same reason as stated above. I love the humor in these two dramas as well. I just finished love and redemption ( fast forwarded through chunks in the middle) and liked it. Happy Ending for main leads please. Please let me know if anyone has recommendations.

It’s out! I just realized it.

Solid drama, nothing particularly outstanding, but enjoyable and worthy of binging. Fluffy with maturity. Found the main leads interesting and with personality’s that gently veered from the cliche. Never felt the need to fast forward. Even some of the “annoying” characters didn’t cross the line. So while it may not be an epic blockbuster it is definitely worth watching.

Thank you for the recommendations- I dropped Eternal Love, it was just a little too melodramatic for me, but I loved DHD and BFJ so I decided to watch this one and loved it. I will check out the others that you mentioned.

I liked this drama, because of the low angst between the couple themselves. They were consistent with each other for the majority of the drama. Same with Love and Destiny. Are there any other fantasy drama's that you recommend that are only similar levels with these two?

Absolutely Amazing!! A dark fairy tale with dynamic characters and amazing cast.

Its been a bit since I watched it, but I would say about midway or a bit later. It wasn't that long after they got together.

If your looking for a good happy romance try I hear you., put your head on my shoulder and LOve 020. They are light hearted and a great choice for de stressing from Covid worries. Boys over flowers is not fluffy but will suck you in. It’s more fast paced and fun, over the top type situations. These are all Netflix. If you download Viki app there are a lot more of the lighthearted ones to choose. Personal favorites are what’s wrong with secretary Kim and her private life.
