A few people mentioned they thought there was unnecessary drama in the last couple episodes, but I didn’t mind it. At least the logic was there. An emperor doesn’t want to set himself up to be overpowered. Chu Zhao I felt actually wished he stayed in his position. At the end he truly learned his lesson and it would be hard to find another official who would understand the slippery slope of using personal desire to make decisions. If he was able to stay in his position he could have paid back for his mistakes in the future. This was one of the better dramas for clear logic and character motivations. I can even forgive Xiao Jun giving up He Yan to the emperors demands because he is hugely responsible to his family. Plus he fixes it quick, lol. The only thing that was a bit of a critique would be He Yan stopping in the middle of the battle to find Xiao Jun, but someone said that was an editing mistake. It was originally intended to happen after the fight. Also who wears white to war and comes back with only a bit of blood here and there. If they are going to have her in white make use of the contrast between before and after battle. A little bit of repetitiveness with her getting drunk. Her behavior as a new recruit was a bit more unreserved than what is realistic for a former general, but it’s fiction and made things fun so I can let myself stretch believability for it.
It mentions amnesia in the synopsis- how long does that go on for? Is it cringy and annoying?
Thanks everyone- I can handle it as long as it adds to the story and makes sense. I can't stand it when they drag it out or go over the top with it. I'll add to my watch list.
Somebody pls spoil if there is a happy ending. Hoping for not another tragic ending like in One and Only...
I believe One and Only is the prequel for forever and ever (not 💯 on the title) the sequel is them reincarnated in modern day and has a happy ending. I read the novel but skipped one and only because I don’t like sad endings
Good and sometimes so bad that it is still good. I kept wanting to shout Si Feng for weeks. (Also does this hold a record for the most time a ML coughed up blood 😉)
Xanxia fans I am looking for recommendations for similar something similar. I have not watched too many of this genre but I enjoyed this one because they did a good job of making the characters logical in their behavior and overall misunderstandings are kept to a minimum with the FL/ML. For the most part they had very clear stances where they stood and believed in each other. Others I liked were Love and Destiny- the one with god of war and the fairy that had the demon king spirit in her Love of dream pillow book- just the 3rd story arch is really what I liked- the mortal world was painful to watch Love and redemption- good in places and sometimes so bad that it’s good in others (story concept was good) Eternal love- dropped because way over the top for me.
