So they waited until the absolute last moment to burn the witch, huh? All because they didn’t believe she was the witch. Even though they had no problem killing random people and burning them right away. I disliked the Beach arc in the manga, and I still dislike its adaptation. The games outside the Beach were fine, though, and the cinematography was really good.
I knew Jackson Yee was an incredible actor after watching Better Days, but this movie really showcased just how talented he is - his performance was on another level.
There were some weird, random moments and a few bizarre deaths, and I still have no idea what the deal was with the news anchor and the crazy fangirl. That said, I really like the idea of interactive movies. Even if the choices don’t matter in the end, I enjoy being able to check out different routes and see additional scenes. Having to choose between two endings is also great - I actually liked both of them. The plot is pretty interesting; nothing extraordinary, but still enjoyable. The production and acting were great as well (not your usual over-the-top Japanese acting, though the characters were a little bland).
I really wish there were more full-length interactive movies like this from East Asia - the choices kept me engaged the whole time.
The first 5-6 episodes dragged on forever, and I almost dropped it a few times, but then it got more interesting. The ending was awesome.
I think it would've been better without Jeong-hwa and her investigation, as she had almost no impact on the plot (although the ankle monitor scene in the last episode was brilliant). The other officers were also useless; they refused to listen to anything she tried to tell them.
Mun-jo was an interesting character, and I really enjoyed watching Jong-u slowly lose his mind. But honestly, I didn't really like any of the characters.
The atmosphere and visuals were great, especially in the last episode (the slow-motion scenes were amazing). There were a few minor plot holes, but overall, it's a good and enjoyable watch.
It wasn't bad, but it was a bit... lacking? compared to the first season. It didn't have that "something" that made me like the first season so much. This season was mostly "I'll kill you, you're dead, die, kill, kill, kill" and just fights in practically every episode. I still enjoyed and liked it though. But I'll probably forget about it in a few days.
Great drama for the most part, I liked the suspense, Ko Mu Chi was my favorite character. I had a hunch pretty early on who the real killer might be, but all the twists and turns left me questioning myself a lot. I really enjoyed that. I'm glad Mu Chi and Bong Yi didn't forgive him in the end. I felt really bad for Yo Han.
On the other hand, the whole OZ thing wore me out - their influence, reach, speed of action, being everywhere at the right time, cleaning everything up and getting rid of bodies in a flash was way over the top. They were fighting crime while covering up for a serial killer and even killing a few people themselves. They said that preventing the birth of psychopaths would solve the crime problem worldwide. But well, not all serial killers (or just criminals in general) are psychopaths... It didn't sound believable to me at all. It would have been better without the OZ. That, and everyone was connected on so many levels that the reveal of another connection seemed ridiculous, not surprising.
Ironically, the scene I remembered the best was Mu Chi's boss (Bok Ho Nam) retching after smelling him xD
Overall I liked it, I liked the ending, the acting was great but the last few episodes felt like they dragged on forever.
It's my most favourite arc out of the whole thing (both in manga and anime, I especially loved the Trust and Betrayal OVA) but I honestly found the movie version to be rather boring. It's like they moved in slow motion outside of fights. I get that it was supposed to add to the immersion and help to "feel" the scenes but come on... it's fine once in a while during more important scenes but not when the whole movie is like that. Anyway, I still liked this movie and the whole series, it's the only live-action adaptation of a manga that I actually finished and liked.
Gyuri ruined the whole drama for me. Just when I thought she's becoming more likeable, she would do or say something stupid again. Jisoo was also... not a memorable character, kida wishy-washy. I liked Mr. Lee and Mr. Cho, everyone else wavered between being tolerable and irritating. Not my kind of show.
The first half was rather average and slow, I couldn't get myself to like Moo Yeong and I didn't understand why Jin Kang would even like him. However, the second half was way better and honestly, the ending was the best part of this show.
The whole season is a solid 10/10 for me but they should've ended it there. There were no loose ends, so it feels like they would be just riding the hype wave with the third season, it would be kinda... dunno, forced? Anyway, I'll gladly watch it if it's not going to be something of the likes of "chasing the big bad zombie-controlling villain".
You sure can, I'm also from Europe and I was able to join it. Since it's pretty much impossible for us to make an account on Weibo, just create an account on WeChat and login to Weibo through it (click on WeChat logo on the login page). I think it also works with QQ app but I've never tried it so I'm not sure.
