I was honestly debating whether to watch this because of the rating here, but I decided to give it a chance before the year ends—and wow, I was shocked by how underrated it is. The execution was handled well, and I loved how each story had its own depth and message while still connecting in the main lead's time. The variety of stories kept it interesting, emotional, and meaningful from start to finish. Definitely deserves more recognition than it gets.

Watch it. I hope you like it.

I was trying not to spoil him with that part, but I guess it’s okay since he’s not going to watch it anyway. I watched it again for the second time this month, and I understand it better now. On the FL’s mother’s side, she believed her daughter would be happier if she married someone else instead of a man who was always away like her father. That’s why she chose to let her daughter completely forget about the guy. And although the FL eventually got married and had kids, she was not truly happy with her new family. She also gave up her dream of getting married for love, erased her memories of high school and college, and lost her first love. She had her own struggles too, so it’s unfair to judge her just because she married someone else and had a child.

Please watch it. You will understand a lot of details once you watch it. Give it a chance

Honestly, the ratings on MDL don’t do this drama justice. I’m surprised it has such a low score because the acting is truly impressive — both Zhang Linghe and Zhao Jinmai deliver heartfelt performances with amazing chemistry that feels so natural. The storyline is easy to follow if you take the time to put yourself in the shoes of either character. It beautifully portrays the contrast between the FL and ML’s personalities and the very different households they grew up in, making their interactions even more engaging. If you’re looking for a heartfelt, well-acted series with relatable character growth and a fresh take on relationships, Our Generation is definitely worth your time. Don’t let the ratings stop you from giving it a chance!
