eh, i don't like watching multiple shows that are airing. apart from thai dramas, i cant handle the wait lol. another reason is i tend to stop watching dramas for random periods of time. like i just randomly stop when a drama im watching is airing and i magically come back when it's finished. yet, i only end up binging it months after lol.

anyways yes, you will find in most chinese historical dramas the girls are very hard core. and bitchy. especially if they're fighitng over a man, jesus if you're in the palace, its a fight for your fucking life in those dramas.
i haven't actually seen this yet but there's a fantasy tag and talk of fighting so i assume it's xianxia/wuxia. so if it has cultivation then it's not really that surprising. someone with a high cultivation can endure a lot. (the untamed is a great example of how much a cultivator can handle but i see you didn't like it lmao personally i thought it was a bit long but worth it in the end).
the bathing thing...idk but i think modesty? even in straight dramas it's with clothes on unless it's an actual bath scene (rare for any chinese drama a person is shirtless in a lake/river i've only seen it in the untamed and in a few other chinese dramas i watched when i was a kid). in any scene where people are in water its so foggy and misty in chinese dramas but i think it looks cool lol.
