This is by far the best Cdrama I have ever watched!!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but for the first time ever, I made an account just to give this drama a proper 10. Yes, this C-drama is that good. I started watching when it only had 19 episodes because the synopsis intrigued me, and lo and behold, it ended up becoming one of—if not the—best C-dramas I’ve watched since I started a year ago. I can now confidently say that C-dramas can deliver when they truly try. They can reach greatness—on the same level as some of the best K-dramas I’ve ever seen. The execution of this drama had my jaw dropping almost every episode. The writing is far above most C-dramas I’ve watched. The cinematography and direction are simply chef’s kiss. The character dynamics are insane—I’ve never been this entertained by a battle for succession. The soundtrack is amazing, and every arc had me completely hooked. My eyes were literally glued to the screen whenever I watched. Every actor and actress played their role perfectly, and honestly, I don’t remember being bored at any point. It’s just that entertaining.
And if you’re looking for romance, you’re absolutely on the right track. Even the second and third leads have incredibly captivating love stories. One of this drama’s strongest points is the push-and-pull between the couples—if you know, you know. And if you don’t, just watch it.
Watching each episode felt like watching a movie because of how well it was made. And the aspect ratio—don’t even get me started. It was such a genius creative choice and added so much to the overall experience. Pair that with strong writing, a compelling story, and interesting characters, and you get a truly cinematic experience.
If I had to point out a flaw—and I can’t believe I’m saying this—it’s that the drama is too short. I wanted more. Usually, my complaint with C-dramas is unnecessary dragging, but this time, I actually wished there were more episodes. I wanted more development and buildup in the final arcs after the Rong family conflict was resolved because I was genuinely curious about what came next. Aside from that, any other flaws are insignificant compared to how brilliantly this drama was crafted.
Overall: 10/10. One of the very few C-dramas I consider on par with some of the best K-dramas I’ve ever watched.

Good premise, but overrated.
I'm gonna be honest. I don't really know how this got such a high rating. I think this one is overrated imo.First things first, I think episode 1 was good, not until they introduced Jiangli and her maid. There's just no way that they are introducing two characters that just mogs the main character and make her look like the side character instead. I think it was bad casting tbh, original Jiangli and Tong er is just way too pretty.
But the main thing that I really don't like about this drama is the writing/script. This drama had such bad and unnatural dialogues, it was making me cringe by what I'm reading the whole time. The premise of this show was so good as well but the writing just ruined it.
I think the best part of this drama is definitely the Princess Wanning and Jiang Ruo Yao's arcs. I can't really comment on the other parts as the bad writing puts me off every time. The production was good tho.
I honestly think people only gave this a high rating because the main actress played the main character in Story of Yanxi palace which was a really good show and a very popular one.
Overall, a 6.5 and that's me being tempered.

Really fun rom-com drama! Rushed ending.
Allow me to say what I've been wanting to tell everyone first. Because this was such a good drama and I really liked the osts, I decided one day to watch the ending credit scene ( you know the one that plays after every episode ). I don't usually watch the opening and ending credit scenes but since I really liked this and wanted more, I started to watch it and OMG ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME. THERE ARE SPOILERS AT THE ENDING CREDIT SCENES OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SCENES OF THIS DRAMA, LIKE IM TALKING ABOUT WHO WILL DIE IN THE FUTURE. I don't know why they did it this way but it was really maddening that I just got spoiled like that.Aside from that, I really enjoyed this one, just from the trailer alone I already knew it was gonna be a banger. When I started the drama I got even more hooked and really liked the plot and the rom com aspect of it. Honestly this was such a fun watch that I can recommend it to mostly everyone. The Osts, the script, the characters, a lot of it are really good. Although I would say the Young King and Crown prince really threw me off coz I don't know if its a back story or simply just happening now. It took me a while to get the hang of it.
The only other problem I had with this drama is that after the mausoleum arc, it kinda started to go down. I think it was a little rush near the end and the drama could have done better had it gotten more episodes to it to expand more on the story. But overall a really good and fun cdrama to watch. But the spoiler containing ending credit scenes and the rushed ending and badly executed ending really threw me off this. Overall 9.0. I would've given this a 10 as well only if not for the things i mentioned.

A breath of fresh air
Honestly a breath of fresh air! I don't usually watch these type of dramas but I stumbled a scene of the main female actress on tiktok and decided to give it a try, ONLY TO LEARN LATER THAT ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DRAMA. Bruh.I don't regret watching it tho since this one has a really good premise about a drawing club of different people of different ages with the same likings. This is kind of like Blue period which is an anime about drawing as well. This was such a unique drama and I really loved it. Although I'd say that I kinda expected more drama to come about on the FMC's family and the ending was kind of rushed a little bit as well. It looked like their family issue was deeper but then at the end they just kinda reconciled? and everything worked out. Probably my only gripe on this drama although ig its kinda natural since its kind of more a slice of life drama with romance in it.
But overall still a really good watch! Definitely recommend! 9/10.

Different version, same heart break
I've finally came around to watchin this one. Scarlet Heart Ryeo is one of my most favorite kdramas ever and when I learned it was a remake from a chinese drama, I wanted to watch it immediately. However, like Thanos said, "Reality is often disappointing". I didn't really like it when I tried to watch the first episode of it but maybe it was just me not being used to how Cdramas are made, the bald heads also didn't help lol and at that time I haven't really watched any Cdramas. Fast forward to 2025, I started watching Cdramas and now 2026, decided to give Scarlet heart another try again and boy It did not disappoint.I've really enjoyed this drama, I think the acting was great, the writing was awesome, and the overall execution is pretty good enough considering this was an old drama and that most cdramas can be usually disappointing. The Main Female Actress really did a great job. She's so good and with visuals to pair as well. The others really did great as well but I think she stands out the most for me.
Although, I have many praises for this, I can't help but compare it with the Kdrama version. I'm gonna be honest, I think korean version is still the best one for me. Not because its the first I watched but rather its just ahead of mostly everything whether it be the music, cinematography, writing, direction, acting etc. (I'll be honest tho, actress for Rouxi did way better than compared to Haesoo). I think one of the things that I didn't really like on this chinese original is that a lot of the characters didn't really have much of a motivation driving behind them than just competing for the throne. The 4th prince for example, idk why he's unfavored by their mother, there really wasn't a reason for it but in the kdrama version, there is a reason for it. Also I liked the 8th prince in the kdrama version more as well because when they introduced the 8th in the chinese version, he only looked like a creep, idk if its just me. In the kdrama version, Ig the way they did 8th and the fmc's love story was just more natural.
There are more things that I think could be better but overall a really good cdrama, 9/10.
PS: WHERE IS MY SCARLET HEART RYEO SEASON 2!!! SBS PLEASE, I NEED THIS!!!

What a beautiful historical drama.
I didn't know that this was based on true historical events and characters I'm not gonna lie, not until the very last episode where they showed on screen the text of what happened after. Probably the only cdrama that made me look up the characters and check their wikis, and even looked at the life back during the Qing Dynasty. I was so invested lol. So invested in reading wiki, I made it to Wu Zetianm Four beauties of China, etc. like bruh I don't how I even got there lmao.My favorite character is definitely Chenbi or the Noble lady Shun. I think her introduction into the very later episodes, just when we all thought no new character is gonna be introduced anymore, is brilliant imo. Her perfect character was just *chef's kiss*. Probably the only character in a Cdrama that have fooled me twice. Like I really fell for it when she said she wants to help Yinglou and the 2nd male lead because she was previously saved by him. I really wanted to cry at that time coz wdym you're not a part of the good gang T_T. Anyways, she quickly rosed as one of my most favorite characters in watching cdramas.
I think the part that I didnt really like is the emperor, like they tried to make him as someone competent but it doesnt really show. He's the most annoying emperor/king I've probably encountered.

Captivating, intense, and Beautiful.
I have watched this last year but only giving a rating and review right now only because I only made an account a few days ago coz a cdrama I've watched really compelled me to make an acc lol. (Its "Glory" for anyone wondering)I don't remember the entirety of the story only the gist of it but remember how much I enjoyed this drama. The execution, the direction, cinematography, osts, and acting are very well done. Although I did find some (like one or two of the casts) acting a bit unsatisfactory, most of cast still did well.
If you want a family drama, this is definitely one of the best ones out there so feel free to give it a watch. Overall, a 9.5/10. Very well made and beautiful drama.

Beautiful story with a little bit of blandness to it.
So this is a Cdrama that was recommended to me because it was apparently similar to Glory so I gave it a try. After watching I can definitely say that I like it however I wouldn't say that Its better at least to my taste. As someone who likes watching family dramas, I really like the story on this one however I'm gonna be honest, its a little bland and but without faults.. Not the story specifically but rather the execution of it.First off, the reason why I say its a little bland is because there seems to be a lack of osts and background music. They will really only play an ost whenever its the most very very very important part. I mean its not bad tho, ig it helps you in a way to focus on the story more? but there were a lot of scenes where I thought to myself would be better had it had a music in the background playing to intensify the scene.
Secondly, the story really liked to dance between serious and comical scenes. Whenever a scene is supposed to be serious they try to make it as something funny which I didn't really like especially during the first few eps of watching it.
Thirdly, I don't know if its just me but the time skip was the most confusing sht ever. Not the story but trying to know who is who was just a headache. Especially when they added more characters and some of them looked alike and some of them also had the same titles like "Second brother", "Zecheng", "Zesheng". I literally had to go check the character list and research who is who. Well, I did manage to get past it even though at some point I was mistaking Gu Tingye for Sheng Changbai lol and kid Changbai as the other illegitimate kid who lost to kid Tingye. Ig I was face blind since this is the first time I'm seeing this actors/actresses? like one point I also mistook the father of Ming lan as father of Gu Tingye and was wondering why he was punishing Changbai, turns out its Gu Tingye he's punishing and the scene is at the house of Gu. I was at a mess trying to find out who is who, it all clicked after few eps tho lmao.
Well, those are some faults that really got to me. There is also the ending with the 4th sister Mo Lan which I didnt like but I'm not gonna spoil it. Overall, really enjoyed this drama. I'd give a 9/10.

Don't listen to others, just watch it.
This is one my most favorite Cdramas out there. One of the few that made me think, "Wow, so China can do it as well if they tried". I watched this on a whim and just got hooked instantly on episode 1! It's been a while since I've watched this but I'm only giving a review now because I didnt have an account back then. Still, this cdrama left a very positive impression on me that I won't forget.Let me start with the female lead, Tian Xiwei, normally I wouldn't care to remember anyone's real name in a drama but she just perfectly executed her character and left me in a jaw drop. I then looked on the internet and found out that she's literally called the Sweetheart of china. She just nails the playful WuZhen at day and the cold cat lord Wu Zhen at night. Super impressed by her and this is the first time I've watched her in a drama.
The production of this drama and execution is so good too. I love every part of it as well as the writing and the osts. Literally I have nothing but praises for this drama, so if you're wondering if you wanna try it, just go for it. Overall, 9.5/10.

Second couple story is so good.
I love the second couple on this drama. That's what im just gonna say since its been a while since i've watched this and cant really remember much but I remember the second couple being the best on this, 8/10 imo.I think the drama is great overall but I don't think its the best there is, also as much as I loved Kim Sejeong, I dont think she was the right fit here, she fits the fmc that has amnesia but for the Queen, not so much since the Queen is kinda the opposite of fmc's character.
