The ending was a little weak; some aspects felt like they were concluded suddenly. I wanted to explore the relationship between pink finger and brown finger, as well as khaki finger and black finger. We didn't see her dad throughout the drama, but then we suddenly see him near the end. He ends up undergoing a drastic character development, too... that doesn't make sense? Her mom's arc was concluded quickly, but it was tied up well; the dad's arc wasn't.
However, I must say that I really enjoyed most aspects! This is one of the more rare times a drama should have been longer, possibly the standard 16 episodes.
Hyunjun was depicted as a childish loser who hid behind his dad, and his resentment towards him grew over time.…
agreed, there was never enough motivation. i actually don't think his dad was ever actually mean to him and his criticism was warranted. his behaviour was consistent but his motive wasn't.

i wholly agree!! their reaction was super weird. the beach scene lacked timing so bad. if only it came later in the series when everything was sorted out (i can't say earlier bc it has never been smooth sailing) than it would have been understandable. but they're facing a horrible crisis!
i liked miseon's confession, i really did but it feels like the chemistry between them has become a bit awkward and clumsy. they're both clearly in love with each other, so why is taepoong the only one who's showing it? (i don't mean to be harsh, but still...) when miseon saw taepoong all dejected in the ruined office, i was surprised she didn't run after him and comfort him in some way. there were so many missed opportunities to make the dialogues just ~ooze~ with love. but, you know what? i might let it go BECAUSE SHE KILLED THAT PUNCH AT THE END!!! THAT WAS SO DAMN SATISFYING!
also the conflict is getting way out of hand, oh my god. there's just a clear villain--- forget about pyo daddy (ahem) because he has a legitimate reason--- it's hyunjun! i mean, how far could jealousy and insecurity actually go?! it's not like his dad is constantly comparing him to taepoong, it only happened once or twice. is his ego really that fragile to mess with this dude? he literally has a dad that supports him and wants what's best for him (before he found out about his rivalry with taepoong anyway). WHAT IS THE MOTIVE HERE?!?!?!??!?!?!

i guess my memory got a bit fuzzy in the excitement of watching the drama lol. i won't spoil the gloves arc for you! it's true that there weren't any big wins. however, i do think that taepoong tends to get a lot of easy and unwarranted advantage in certain situations. (thailand court scene, getting out of a contract with a gangter without much harm, etc) and that's probably because he's the titular protagonist.
Since there's more soundtracks to be released than how many weeks are left, do shows release more than 1 song…
they usually release the soundtracks that are used the most in the drama pretty early. like 'did you see the rainbow' by lee junho is the theme song and is used quite a lot (also 'updraft' by HAN) so it got released fairly instantly. but other songs that are used just once or twice over a few episodes take more time. i remember watching lovely runner while it was airing and 'spring snow' by 10cm was released in the later half of the series. it could also be random. :> also undercover high school had one song that i really loved when i first heard it but it took them a while to release it on spotify because it was played very restrictively!

happy-go-lucky, flirty and the loser boy type. i think he could've pulled it off if his hair was blonde. my hopes for this drama reduced dramatically after seeing the stills :,(

Nope, it was so disappointing. But I do see where Miseon was coming from. In her mind, it wasn't the right situation to sort out their feelings for each other. She didn't deny her feelings for him, but she told Taepoong that she wasn't comfortable being intimate when Majin was in jail. An additional spoiler, though: they kiss in the next episode, from what I could tell from the preview (fingers crossed)!
Honestly, I wish Miseon would resolve the whole problem with Majin. :,( I know Taepoong is the protagonist, but I wanted this Thailand arc to be more about Miseon, proving that she is more than capable of solving things. Throughout the episode, we could see she was more than qualified to be accompanying them to Thailand (she was the only one who even understood the language, albeit partly), but, in my opinion, she should be the one who gets the spotlight, especially at the end of ep 9. I guess we'll see more of her in ep 10, though. :>
On a side note, I can sort of understand where Majin is coming from. He is the only one supporting his wife and kids, so he's taken a huge gamble by going back to an unstable job. That guides his intentions. He wants to make sure the trip is a success, no matter what. And I guess through a misogynistic lens, he sees Miseon as a threat to the deal. It's not right, but the circumstance itself is very volatile.
