Second episode of “Perfect Crown” finished, and there’s a lot to say. First of all, what kind of budget…
ngl i haven't watched all of the kdramas out there yet, but the level of script writing and directing for my mister and wlgyt are top 5% at least of all time. I don't think we'll get those scripts anytime soon (at least from what i've seen in 2025 and 2026) :C

this sounds so fun but it's probably going to get ruined by some stupid love triangle

I don’t really like how he tells the ghost to stay away from him in certain situations because he doesn’t like being possessed and then they ignore him and he gets possessed anyway

Slice of life can be a genuinely interesting genre and a good watch, even if sometimes they're slow without too much drama happening, but this one here is just depressing and there's no "healing" factor at all. Some characters make illogical decisions and the story just kinda floats around about how depressed and miserable they are while acting like they're human and humans are "complex" and how deep the story is. If some watchers complain, then fans act like the're superior and how you just don't "get it".

I was somewhat excited for this show before starting it: Decent MDL rating (for whatever that might be worth these days), leads who atleast weren't horrible in other roles I've seen them in, a writer with a couple of shows I liked (though not loved) and a premise that was certainly my cup o' tea.

However... Four episodes in and I'm considering to drop this already. The episodes are 90 minutes long without anything of note happening. There is no pacing. There is no content. The writing is a joke, especially the characterizations.

I don't understand the ML at all. He hates his wife to the point where he wants her to die from cancer? But it's a romance? How does that make sense?

Meanwhile the FL has no depth. I can enjoy an icequeen as much as the next guy, but there needs to be more than a hidden smile or two per 90 minutes. Why isn't she closer to her husband? Show us something. Give explanations. Or atleast ask questions. Right now there's nothing.

The villain is entirely unnecessary and truly hurts the drama. Have him be an ex who makes her heart flutter. Who gets close after she learns of her husbands divorce intentions and his desire for her to die. Why is he yet another k-drama psychopath?

The chaebol family has potential, but is currently being underused and TBH I'm not expecting much. I think this premise would've worked much better as a 50 episode weekend family drama with all the necessary adjustments (no villains, fleshed-out supporting characters, etc.).

And finally...why is the ML, a married man, behaving like a twelve year old virgin? We are to believe that he succesfully knocked up his wife in the past, but I don't see how, considering he would likely fall into a coma if he ever saw as much as a bare shoulder of hers. My "man" nearly suffered a heart attack when they had to share a bed she suggested a snuggle. I get that the rules are different in dramaworld, but c'mon!

Why do ALL Qmin scenes begin with him doing a 'cough cough' almost looks it's his cue / a bit theatrical and jarring when it happens EACH and every time he enters the scene

Did anyone else notice that ?

Pursuit of Jade is just better. Kdramas can't compete with Cdramas anymore
it’s not even the same genre???

Tae Seo: I never look back on things. Buddy, you never looked or moved forward. Everything's her. She: dumps another…
Well, I liked The Witch's first eps, it just... somehow slided to the "uninteresting" side. And I never went back to it, like that.

This one - he DOES have a great face card as they say. And I hoped he (the character) would grow a spine. But half the series in, he didn't. Watching the character specially going out to buy food for her while she doesn't even pick up after herself, like she owns the place, scratched my "she's entirely unlikable" bone. (He's 30!!! And so is she!!!! These are supposedly adults, dammit. At least she should be civil in an almost stranger's place, while he could be a bit assertive in his own house withouth being a quiet rebound rag she can walk all over - again). I can't go on with this (even in 2x speed, which did make it a bit better).

I might take a look at OUS, but... I'm one who dropped Our Beloved Summer two eps from the end because I just couldn't take it anymore LOL. If it's the same - supposedly slow and introspective but instead just... not, I also might not. Thanks for the rec!

PS Too bad about the OP song - it did give a flashback to the QoT OST. It does sound like it's the same band or at least the same songwriter but at this moment I can't be even bothered to check it out.

At first, I thought she was going to be one of those randomly quirky characters that one actually does fall for, and they're like fireflies to their smothering flame or something. But she's not a freaking firefly. HE is a moth to her, who's a dull one-watt lantern bulb.

He was a wet mop from the very beginning - I DO get it that some people have hero's syndrome and DO sacrifice everything for the family etc. But even when he's not with his family anymore, he's stuck in a moment in time, never even "looking back" (yeah, you're right, he never even left).

I really wanted to give it a chance, not in small part because I fell out with The Witch and wished to give JinYoung another chance. But it's just not for me. Maybe I'm too old now for idiotic one-and-only one-sided love stories. Or love stories between physically beautiful but un-souled people.

Oh well. Maybe he'll finally pick something that gives him an actual role to play and not just be a beautiful lachrymose statue.

it actually took me 3 years to finish this! I kept on trying to watch it, but everytime I would leave it after episode 3. Not because I wasn’t enjoying it, but because I was scared of how depressing this would be. Now I have finished it, it wasn’t as depressing as I expected, there was so much love and comfort and support, it softened the pain of the past for the viewer like the characters. I’m so happy affer 3 years I finished this!!!

Like seriously, please stop changing dramas' titles on MDL YEARS after they aired!! I just did a double take at the title since I rated it so high and I didn't even remember the name - which I obviously would not, since I watched JUST BETWEEN LOVERS, not Rain or Shine (a worse title anyway IMHO).

This is the second or third time I've seen these title changes in MDL, please leave off already. It's been almost 8 years already, why be so finicky?!
