I absolutely loved this drama! I loved the slower pace, the blossoming love, the past traumas that needed to be dealt with, the fraught family relationships. So much relationship development and some humor, it was all so completely satisfying. The weird notion that blood makes us who we are just drives me crazy and and thankfully they dealt with it and people were saved by love. I'm always interested in character growth and this did NOT disappoint. P S. I hope his uncle fell off the boat and drowned. Begone, Toxic One!
I wound up being surprised by how good this was. I never like a push-pull romance, but there was so much other great stuff going on, I really got involved before I gave it up. I thought Bae Ta Mi was going to make me crazy the 1st few episodes, but there are a lot of great things going on with the plot. The 2nd ML and FL, were my favorites, but the Sunbae and her arranged husband became another favorite couple. Political intrigue, both governmental and corporate, complicated, but significant relationships and shared history, family dynamics, great kissing scenes, laughing and crying, choices and consequences, all woven together to make a great drama. The last scene was a bit of a surprise in the most delightful way! 9 out of 10 stars because of the constant back and forth from the FL regarding her romance.
I liked it. Simple. Not as scary as it could have been, badest bad guy, some redeemable bad guys, lots of angsty-ness from the FL. sometimes you choose your road and sometimes it chooses you, but you always have choices along the way and, hopefully, self-awareness and growth. The nature of the show allowed for different cases and people to be introduced and wrapped up in one episode. I like that formula and these actors are top notch.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I don't diss people who disagree, but I loved it all the way thru. I wanted it to end a certain way, but I'm ok with how it ended. More like real life and people damaged by their past traumas and still working on resolving them. The twists and turns keep coming until the credits roll. It can be finished just how it is and I'll imagine what comes next or they can do a second season. I want all the same characters back and want them to be as well written, well acted, and go on more crime and psychological adventures. it was really different than most anything I've seen and when Park Bo Gum goes dead behind the eyes, I get scared! the 2 MLs could have just used their faces to convey the story line without ever speaking a word. Kind of freaked dme out. not just a couple of gorgeous men. and Jung So Min was a strong FL. her character was so validating and fun to watch. Wow! Just Wow!
Not a comedy or a romance, but the dancing was amazing! D. O. is one of my favorite performers and learning to tap dance, along with another actor I love, is so impressive. A POW camp for North Korean prisoners run by American soldiers, who are never portrayed well, and maybe that's justified. Jackson was a star and this little troupe of dancers he puts together is precious. Tragic ending, so I cried, but I love the way it ended with dancing from their past experiences and how the emphasis is on ideologies being the enemies, not people. People can always find. common ground if they just try. Power mongers will always try to prevent that from happening. I loved it, but it alsoade me sad.
this was a little. more intense and perpetually tragic than I usually like, but I was hooked from the beginning About 3/4 of the way thru I was going to give it only 8 or 9 stars just because it seemed like these people were never going to be okay, no matter how much they loved each other. But it's a solid 10 stars for me. I was keeping track of the mysteries wrapped within mystery and every single one was resolved. My biggest worry was that they wouldn't resolve the real issues all the victims had, but the writers came through with flying colors. Good, intelligent story telling and heartstring tugging, with beautiful results and a lot of character growth. Well done! 👏👏👏
I just discovered this gem and loved it! Delightful scenes, great acting, sweet moments, really bad bad guys, and beautiful knitwear! You can always lure me in with knitwear. It's older so the powerless female trope drove me crazy but mostly it's actually a very beautiful story and beautiful cinematography. I agree with the person who said they'd like a part 2. this is going to be a re-wat h for me!
Naysayers be gone! lI loved this drama, not once but twice. Consistent storyline, great character growth, and clever plot devices. I recommend this to everyone, but the surgeries might be a bit much if you're like me. 😍
I've seen this twice and it was even better than I remembered. I loved everything about it. And even the surgeries didn't bother me so much this time. Rain and Kimbum are top tier, as you'd expect. as are all the other actors. ❤️
I loved this little treasure! The Untamed is so unforgetable that I'd watch anything related to it and was so pleased they didn't spoil the original. Also, Wen Ning is a favorite character of mine and he rocks this role!
I had to buy the DVD set to watch this. You can tell it's a bit older because of the tropes and overly dominant males, but some. of my favorite actors/Korean singers are in it and I loved all of them. The Prince Brothers are a mess, the palace is a dangerous place, and there's fun time travel. What's not to love?
It's all Rowoon for me and this is a Rowoon fest! The first couple of episodes made me doubt I was going to like this because his character is too pushy and creates a lot of unnecessary drama for the FL. However, the rest was good and I enjoyed watching his facial expressions and healthier devotion. Strangely my favorite scene is at the crosswalk 3 episodes before the end when he turns and walks away. A lot of power in being a generous, living person who has had enough and chooses not to be 2nd choice. When a person is told to choose the thing they will regret the least and that thing is your person, that means you don't deserve your person. I had a hard time tolerating her after that, no matter how many regrets she had, but understanding human beings who are generous in their love, I could understand his choices. I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance. So a 9 for me.
So good! Kept me guessing clear to the end and the romance was wonderful! I was surprised by the twists and turns and really enjoyed the characters. Top Notch!
I loved Seo Huin Jin in Why Her and Lee Min Ki in Because This is My First Life so I had to watch this one, even tho it's a 2018 drama. I was so unprepared for the clever story line and thought it was a delight from beginning to end. There were a few a crying scenes and I cried appropriately. Overall, the drama has an intriguing story, fabulous characters, and a lot of character growth. The love and friendships are so well done that this is a rewatch for me!
Trigger warning: If you have past trauma or can't deal with death and loss, don't watch this show. If you need to cry, or want a show about healing and how love can change people, do watch it. I watched this right after Heartbeat and the live streamed 2PM concert, so kind of a 2 PM indulgence. I was a little worried they set it up to be the same as Heartbeat, so I was prepared for a lot of grief. The whole show is a gut wrencher, but I'm in the throes of grief myself, so I need the tears. Also some great laugh out loud one-liners. "Are we in a war?" still cracks me up! Very interesting cast of characters played by superb actors, so very character driven, as well as trauma and trauma healing driven. My one complaint: the last bit of misunderstanding was unnecessary. after all they'd been thru and learned together I found it hard to believe they couldn't have resolved that sooner. It was never resolved and that irritated me. It shouldn't require someone having a terminal illness for you to get over yourself. It is a 2017-18 drama, so I think that has changed for the better in recent Kdramas. Overall I loved it. Lee Junho forever.
