Trigger warning: If you have past trauma or can't deal with death and loss, don't watch this show. If you need to cry, or want a show about healing and how love can change people, do watch it.
I watched this right after Heartbeat and the live streamed 2PM concert, so kind of a 2 PM indulgence. I was a little worried they set it up to be the same as Heartbeat, so I was prepared for a lot of grief. The whole show is a gut wrencher, but I'm in the throes of grief myself, so I need the tears. Also some great laugh out loud one-liners. "Are we in a war?" still cracks me up! Very interesting cast of characters played by superb actors, so very character driven, as well as trauma and trauma healing driven.
My one complaint: the last bit of misunderstanding was unnecessary. after all they'd been thru and learned together I found it hard to believe they couldn't have resolved that sooner. It was never resolved and that irritated me. It shouldn't require someone having a terminal illness for you to get over yourself. It is a 2017-18 drama, so I think that has changed for the better in recent Kdramas. Overall I loved it. Lee Junho forever.

Okay, I was prepared to be upset about the ending since I waited long enough to hear how mad everyone was. So with that in mind, don't dismiss me for saying I loved it! I was expecting the inevitable and when it came I thought it was beautiful! The humanity of beautiful Taecyeon's character was consistent all the way through, even when he had to battle his inherent nature. I loved that Joo InHae was more stunted from feeling abandoned and constantly fighting poverty, that we saw some real growth in her. I loved her. The contrast of good and evil (I'm looking at you Ms Na) and the complications of being DoSik (he lost me over some bad decisions) were really great to watch.. the whole theme of what love really is and how much you're willing to do for people you live made the ending so beautiful. Even Do Sik almost redeemed himself, but never Ms Na. you can't be that greedy and grasping and expect everyone to be okay with your machinations the whole 5 minutes you have regrets. Too little too late and I'm usually a multiple chance giver. Salve to my broken heart (I don't hate crying in Kdramas) was the appearance of the gold bars! Yay! I'm going with 9.5 stars because I do prefer a happy ending, but again I was prepared and I just enjoyed the ride and I see an opening for a season 2!

There aren't enough words to say how great this drama is. Intrigue, evil machinations, top notch acting by everyone, superb power drama that stays true to making the Female Lead the true lead all the way through. An intense thinking drama with something for everyone, I'd say. I wish I could have given it more than 10 stars! If you love Smart dramas, you'll love this. Wow!

I was also surprised at how great this was! Kim JinHyuk equals thebe perfect. I even liked the FL and I didn't so much in Descendants of the Sun. Great treatment of social issues that shouldn't be issues. Beautiful love story and beautiful art intros and outros. I never missed one! Also, beautiful art to enhance the story line in each episode. Top notch!

p. s. I don't pay attention to ratings. I'm smart enough to make up my own mind based on content. The comments are sometimes a good gauge, but even those I take with a grain of salt. We can be our own judges!

I loved everything about this drama! the love was there to stay and their relationship was healthy enough to withstand the storms of life. The best Kdrama kiss I've ever seen, maybe the best cinema kiss ever , in episode 8. I'm not getting over this one any time soon.

Just okay, not my favorite. the actors saved it from a lower rating. Hated the ending trope of "I love you but I'm leaving because I love you." Hated the trope of " someone has to be responsible", which means " who are we firing? " Very toxic corporate culture tropes abound in Kdramas. Maybe also in real life, but could we do something different, maybe show some ways to correct those? If you hate shows about deception and protecting a lie, don't watch. Not all bad, tho, so make your own judgments. Nice and refreshing FL character, difficult moral dilemmas, love, helping others find happiness, many nice things. I gave it a 7 instead of a 5.5 or 6 because of the good moments because of the cast.

WOW! I can't rave enough about this one. Not your typical zombie drama. I guess. I try to avoid zombie dramas because they are too gory and violent. This one has plenty of gore I couldn't look at, but that wasn't the point. Human nature under pressure (esp following on the heels. of a global pandemic), making choices, and digging deep for your own humanity and courage. Who am I when faced with life and death? who are any of us when we are put to the test? I love Park Hung Sik and wowzah, what a performance! I'm now a big fan of Han Heo Joo and I've never seen so much range in Bae Hye Seon. She must have had so much fun playing this character! anyway, I would have given it a 10, but it lost half a point because, you know, zombies. 😉

Title Mr. Queen
is this show any good and is it like the kings affection?
really different than the Kings Affection. I watched this one to lighten the mood a little after how emotional the Kings Affection was. it mostly did that, but don't mistake it for a 2nd rate comedy. It was very humorous and also beautifully moving as characters grew and evolved. Great cast also. Do watch it!

Review Mr. Queen
What a gem this was! I thought it was just going to be a fun comedy with an unusual story line. I did laugh out loud in nearly every episode. And then things happen and my trusty handkerchief came in handy and became very damp. I loved this drama so much!

Wow! I just finished this and I'm an emotional, yet satisfied wreck! You can't relax a minute during a lot of period dramas regarding political intrigue and this might have been the most intense one I've watched yet. Not counting Kingdom, which is intensified by zombies. I gave it 10 stars for the sheer drama, the beautiful music and scenery, the love, and the great portrayal of courage of conviction. Did I mention love? It did not disappoint and both leading actors were amazing. I love Rowoon. He's no one trick pony! I have so much respect for Park Eun Bin's acting range! She made a really challenging role look so easy. Well done, casting crew! If you've seen her as Attorney Woo, you know what I mean. I can't rave about this kdrama enough!

I read the book a few years ago and loved it. The movie did NOT disappoint me. while the book is more detailed and very grim in some parts, the movie is more sensitive, focusing on the beautiful nature of women's friendships and sisterhood. I was so impressed with the 2 female leads' ability to tackle English and other languages demands and not seem stilted. I had to give it 10 stars because the story is powerful and they portrayed it beautifully. Kudos to the actresses and the directors. I wouldn't give it a G rating tho. There is one short bedroom scene that I wouldn't want to have to explain to my 9 year old granddaughter, but as an adult I realized it was probably included to show the complications of navigating a toxic culture while being able to also love someone. Powerful and touching movie.

Wait whaaaaat ?! I had no idea there was a film made out of this amazing book ! I've read it when I was a teenager…
I also read the book and loved it, and I loved the movie adaptation, to ok. timeless story about an ancient culture and how some of those toxic things seep into later generational relationships. Breaking cycles is harder for some cultures than others. But what I love are women's stories and their friendships. That is a timeless treasure that endures in spite of all the odds!
