I havent watched any K dramas so i dont know how bad their endings can get. 😅 Must really try one of these days! Im not getting a knot in my chest from yesterday's scenes because i think im seeing XQS as a separate character now. He no longer reminds me of XL like earlier reuters which upset me. Either that or im getting numbed by all these BE scenes.

For mainland china popularity, a lot depends on the actors' and production's 国民度Guo Min Du, which is how well liked they are by the general public. Those top ranking dramas usually have older cast, stronger acting, and of course a good script.

Yep ive come across many such comments that they wont watch after knowing it is a BE, especially on mdl's BE drama pages. I used to be on the TTEOTM page. (That one was 99% bloodspits and angst with an open ending. 🤣 ) Many people just walk off after getting their answer. I think this mentality more prevalent in the international c drama community.

I wasnt referring to PangYu or him personally killing anyone. At his level, he didnt have to. When he was first mentioned to NanYi, the book said she couldnt imagine how many lives of his own people he sacrificed to be able to stand so high amongst the Qi. His betrayal gave the Qi army victory and caused plenty of deaths along the way. So yes he made his own people die to gain the Qi's trust and most likely he did a lot more afterwards. By reputation, he was cruel and ruthless and was commanding the Qi soldiers who were going around killing. We know he did it for the greater good (motive) but he was still responsible for those deaths (result) because they were all under his orders to attack. I will be disappointed if the drama removed this initial character setting and made it a coincidence how he came to be.
