Yes he never said he was poor. Everytime he said he was wealthy or showed his wealth, he was shot down by QF for pretending to be rich.

It may be a translation problem. In chinese, he said when young, his family situation was really difficult. It can also mean they had health or relationship problems. He didnt say he was poor.

Yes he pushes his luck sometimes but she knows when to stand her ground like making him wash up.
She also does similar stuff like refusing to let him dry clean his clothes and puts them in the machine despite his protests.
I think they get along fine.

Haha yes there are limited number of chinese pronunciations but tens of thousands of unique characters. One of the reasons why chinese shows have chinese subtitles.

He starts telling her how he and his dad depended on each other while growing up, until a woman came into their lives and wrecked their father-son relationship. Somehow that made him not know how to wash his clothes properly til this day. He gets so upset talking about this and attempts to take his life. 🤣
QF relents and tells him to just remove his clothes from the machine. She goes to cook him food.
