I still can't get over the ending. They seriously needed a lot of trigger warnings.
Tatarn gets 'rewarded' a happily ever after with Nut after choosing not to go back to Nut for years, because Tofu 'saves' both of them? Nope.
I did not need that crematorium scene.
No one ends up happy, it's not a bittersweet ending, its a tragedy and Nut will have to live the rest of his life with the fact that the man he loved was murdered and he had to watch it happen.
This show will now always be the show that had a Teddy Bear commit suicide 'because it was the right thing to do' in my mind.
So is he advocating that we all commit suicide to donate our organs to those who are unjustly suffering from terminal…
You said exactly what I've been saying.
Having a character basically committing suicide to fit the narrative of reconnecting two other characters is not okay. Keeping in mind that one of the characters, knowingly ignored the fact that his 'first love' had to live with his mentally ill mother, and did nothing but travel the world as carefree as can be.
I shook me head in disbelief when Tarn told Nut that he did not come back to him because he wanted him to be happy, while he knew he wasn't.
That is what makes me wish I never watched this. I do not understand why high production value LGBT+ dramas constantly have to sacrifice gay characters. It's not romantic.
I'm just going to post my unfiltered though process here.
Tofu used to be a teddy bear, used.
He was a human being when he died, he was written as a person that developed feelings. He was written as the love interest of Nut. He was shown as a person that knew right from wrong. The anguish he went through in the last episodes shows that he developed the knowledge to realise that he had to right the wrongs, although it was not his responsibility.
I cannot accept that a series that had me invested in the two main characters for fifteen episodes, sacrificed one, to get the other back to his 'first love' in the last episode.
It is not bitter sweet, it is masochistic having a character sacrifice himself, and then having him come back to that.
Let Tofu go then, that ending was just unnecessary cruel.
While the author may state that that was why 'you should' love Tofu, having a character basically commit suicide to fit the narrative of the purpose of a Teddy Bear is just something that I cannot get behind.
Am I the only one here who thinks that the end of this series was terribly sad .... I hate this ending..I really…
Nut ending up with the guy that knew he was living with a mentally ill parent and did nothing? The character that sacrificed himself turns back into a teddy bear, and has to watch the reunion? Although I still would not have been happy with Tofu dying, I would have preferred anyone else than Tarn. He could have come back to Nut at any time, but he didn't.
Exactly I also can't accept nut getting back together with tarn so disappointing
I agree, 'Rich guy' Tarn knew Nut lived with a mentally ill parent, while also knowing what really happened, and he did nothing? I'm supposed to be happy he ended up with this guy? I would have preferred Nut ending up with anyone else.
I’m trying to put things in respective for me. I guess I can speak for almost everyone when I say... I did not…
The absolute rage I feel about the ending is unparalleled to any other show I've watched. It was unnecessary. I was watching the Tofu and Nut story, not the Nut and Tarn show.
Nut ending up with the rich guy that knew he was living with a mentally ill parent and did nothing, whilst also knowing what really happened v.s. the guy that gave up his life for Nut to be happy? No.
Taking Nut's choice away with who he wanted, and the to add insult to injury adding the line that he was always married to Tarn in his heart? No. They could have severed the connection between Tofu and Tarn when both where having cardiac arrests at the same time.
For a series that was about justice and doing the right thing, to have the main character become a martyr while not bringing justice to all the perpetrators overshadowed the message of the show.
I knew that it was the likely outcome but I could not believe the show runners went with this outdated the 'bad guys' win anyway ending. Had Tofu lived everyone involved would have been bought to justice.
This was a show about a Teddy Bear coming to life. They had a lot of choices, but this 'real' ending was not not needed.
Truly couldn't have said it better ^^(and yes, I was honestly hoping Akk would ditch Theo and hang out with Saifa…
Something else that irritated me was the inconsistencies in the script. (And there were a few). In one episode, while driving, Theo tells Akk that the song playing is the one Saifa wrote. In the next episode, Akk does not know Saifa wrote a song? This was such a glaring mistake that I could not take anything seriously after that.
Even more ranting... The Enchantè reveal had me confused for a second. Does Theo have D.I.D.? (That would have made this series much more interesting!) The other problem was Theo testing Akk's feelings. Why? Is Akk supposed to be psychic? Theo never gave Akk any indication that he has feelings for him, but expects Akk to know?
I don't think I've ever disliked a main character as much as Theo. As a romantic lead, he's the kind of narcissist you should run far away from. He's a selfish spoiled brat that has the nerve to judge others. I would've rather have Akk end up with Saifa.
It's been done. Gregg Araki has explored this theme already. And in numerous films. The 'erotic' scenes where as empty as most Todd Verow's films. The only couple that held my interest was Renzo and Chris, but they get the most judgmental ending of all. They are the 'bad guys', therefore they must be punished. Really? How original.
George is by far the worst and most problematic character, but he get a redemption arc?
And don't even get me started on that blatant Sense8 scene rip off.
I am amazed that people rate this show so high, calling it a light romcom, while TharnType gets hate for the so called non consent scenes. - There is a literal rape scene played of for laughs! - Why cast a actor that looks like a child to play Tar? - TinCan's kissing scenes. The actors looked like they where being forced. There is one particular scene where the blocking was off and it was clear that they where not actually kissing. Overall this show just left a bad taste in my mouth.
When you have sex with someone without their consent, that is called rape. It was disturbing to see rape being…
100% I am amazed that people rate this show so high, calling it a light romcom, while TharnType gets hate for the so called non consent scenes. I left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will not watch the second season, especially because of TinCan's 'eeuw I'm kissing a man' vibe between the two actors.

I was watching the last episode dumbfounded, thinking that it must be a dream, and Nut/Tofu would wake up.
It does not fit with the shows overall message.
At the end Tofu's entire existence is a big cosmic joke played on him. I do no see his ending as anything but a tragedy.
Nobody wins here, not Nut, Tarn or Tofu.

Enough already with this sh*t.
