I didn't want to start it for the same reason.... I've been a avoiding dramas that makes me cry. But had binge watched it in 2 days, I'm really happy that I gave the play. To be honest, I cried a lot, but overall it's a beautiful story. There are a lot of funny lights moments that made me think "ah... That's how life is, between the pain there are always nice moments that makes life worth". You definitely should give it a chance. The love is bigger than the pain and sadness

Two kdramas doesn't represent the overall production of lasts years. If you don't like kdramas where the ML likes FL more than FL likes ML you can watch other dramas. There are many are the ones I cited.
I from those 3 episodes I stand for what I said, FL never verbally abused ML and SML. She is just setting boundaries that none of them want to respect

He is completely awful with her during most part of drama. The only thing that made him not kill FL was the bracelet that controlled his action.

There are a lot.... Especially in the old ones, you just need to look better. There are so many old kdramas that the ML treats FL awfully by FL still doing everything ML wants
That the person delivering the puzzle is not the killer makes a lot of sense! There is the case that the man killed himself to show light in how his "friends" where involved in his son's death.... Maybe the killer is not a killer, but just someone trying to show light in how all those deaths are related to the crimes that the victims did.
I think your second point touch in something really important: the only victim that the killer spent time with was Miyong. The killer was with her during all the way until the building. Maybe the killer need to talk with her to get some important information.
But I do think the killer already know everyone that is involved in it. They left Chimokang's fingerprints in Miyong's car making the police team go after him. Until now the killer is the one controlling everything and everybody's move.
About the cause of everything, I think it is about the serial killer case that Ena's uncle was investigating. Probably the case has something to do with the construction of One City, they may have used the crimes as one way to control the price of the land or to get authorization to construct the building. The report was clearly manipulating the media in favor the ones responsable for the building. And Ena's family was part of this schema (I think we are gonna to find that her family also has or had one apartment there too) .
Ah... One parallel between to two serial killers case is that the old one had one accomplice that they couldn't find and it looks like the present serial kkiller also has an accomplice

My guess is that he doesn't have a direct access to the killer, so he was trying to use the press conference to send a message to the killer. So the killer can't be someone that the Team Leader had direct contact in the present, it must be someone that was out of his reach.
