The comrade of soo ho who died before taking poison said long live democratic people republic of korea ie North…
well theres some hints in the show in which the NSA agents are bad people. I remember one of Jisoo's friends (the short haired one) mentioned that the NSA are the ones that wrongfully accuses protestors as NK spies, there's still a possibility but who knows?
Adapted from the handwritten notes of a man who escaped from a political prison camp in North Korea.
So the text above is written on the description of this drama, so I think there's still a possibility that Im Soo-ho is not a SPY but yes he is North Korean. In episode 2, Im Soo-ho is already shown writing something on his little notebook which might be the handwritten notes the description of this drama is referring to.
Three thoughts from an outsider's perspective:1. Would censoring or cancelling creative work not be totally anti-democtratic…
Yeah, I think some forgot that this was adapted from the handwritten notes of a north korean man who escaped North Korea's political prison camp. It's shown in the 2nd episodes, that Jung Hae In's character is already writing on a notebook which might indicate that would be the handwritten notes that the show's synopsis is referring to.
In which scene do we get to know that sooho is actually a North Korean? I've not watched 2nd ep yet and I'm not…
In the scene, where I think her sister was putting a necklace on his neck. He was wearing I think the uniform of a North Korean soldier. In the bonus scene at the last minutes of the 2nd episode, one of Jung Hae In's friends mentioned that he wanted to visit Pyongyang (which is a city in North Korea). I'm also researching more about the history of SK and NK as well.
I think writer was thinking about diffirent ways to cancel his/her own drama. Jokes aside before starting drama…
If the writer didn't want to change Jung Hae In's character as a North Korean, then she could've just made him a North Korean who just escaped North Korea with his friends and just wanted to live peacefully in South Korea but the NSA tracked them down, and wanted to use them as a pawn or a reason to kill and torture innocent protestors by saying that NK spies are now roaming South Korea which makes the NSA the clear villains. That would've been less problematic but eh? I'm not the writer. I am still researching more about the democratic movement and the cruel actions that the NIS did. <3 Have a nice day

Yeah like I'm so dumbfounded at the writer. I hope this story has plot twist or something because they still have a chance to salvage this show by making the NIS THE MAIN ANTAGONISTS/VILLAINS but as of now their still in the gray area.
Wasn't Penthouse also a fictional drama ? Then why did people get offended by it? Why do people get blind when…
We should not compare these two dramas because Penthouse is not based in real historical events. Penthouse is a makjang drama dealing with unrealistic events (Yes, they had controversies but those controversies did not deal or was not relevant to History Revisionism or Distorting history). On the other hand, Snowdrop has a backdrop of a real historical event that happened in South Korea.
Yoon Se Ah as the Strict Headmistress steals every scene she's in, she's so far the most interesting character in this show. I think she was falsely accused by the NSA as a NK Spy because we see her badly beaten and a person is behind her wanting to throw her down the dam.
Yeah, I'm frustrated at the writer. Like did she even read historical books and researched about what happened in SK in the 1980s?
I will still give this drama a few more episodes, but if they will not show that the NSA are bad people in the next few episodes and they paint them as "good guys" then this drama deserves to be canceled.
They could've just went with the route in which Jung Hae In's character is not actually a North Korean and was just framed by the NSA to show that the NSA are cruel human beings but nope they still went with the storyline that Jung Hae In is actually a North Korean which made this story more problematic. What was the writer thinking? like damn.
I think the NSA would be more crueler in the future episodes. The short Haired friend mentioned that the NSA are always framing them as North Korean Spies and Communists.
Well, I'm watching Snowdrop right now. My theory is getting clearer more and more. THE NSA might be the villains which is good, and the headmistress might've have been tortured by the NSA
