Oh, thanks - that's great background. Instead of Sotus S, it would have been nice to go back and tell the story from Arthit's POV - that would have made it an entirely different experience. I totally agree about Our Skyy, that was awesome - I really like that director. Sometimes a shorter and more concise story is better than a long hot mess.

To be fair, the actors are much better in Theory of Love than the usual, and you're right, Thai BL is getting better - I should give the newer ones a chance. I found Kiss and Kiss Me Again really irritating, but I'll watch Dark Blue Kiss for the director, who did two of the best (IMHO) works, Our Skyy and He's Coming to Me. Plus, it has New :)

That's surprising since it looks like they spent about $5 on it. That's why I've gone on to Taiwanese dramas - they get real actors and crews. I'm over the endlessly repeated formula in Thai BL. I like He's Coming to Me because it was different, and at least there was a good reason why the mains weren't doin' it. And both actors are a step above the usual Thai BL level (which is a low, low bar).

The only problem for me (and I guess it's a big one) is that I don't feel any chemistry between Phana & Wayo, and I'm not sure I understand why anyone thinks Phana is attractive (either physically or personality) - why would anyone pick Phana over Forth? On the other hand, the actor playing Wayo is so beautiful it's painful to look at him. The other series was reversed - hot Phana & meh Wayo, at least for me.

Anyway, I'm glad there are two very appealing side romances.

I think Sotus was the best of the Thai BL dramas, but I still don't think it was all that good. It had great actors and a coherent plot, but the total lack of affection between the main pair made it hard to believe there was anything but a medium-strength friendship. I don't need there to be sex scenes, although adults in relationships do tend to have sex from time to time - nor did there even need to be tons of making out scenes, but maybe just one in 40 hours of drama would have been OK? Arthit seemed to have revulsion for being touched by Kongpob - it just didn't feel like love.

Sorry for the mis-post. My real opinion is that you were much too generous with your rating. It should have been at least -3. I hate Knock so much I was really hoping he would be brutally murdered. Korn would have to really hate himself to take Knock back at the end, because he'll just have another gay panic and find the next sleazy scheming ho that walks by and become her devoted boyfriend even AFTER HE CATCHES HER CHEATING ON HIM.
