Rex wasn't on beat or in tune with the instrumental so his flow was quite off causing him to stumble over his…
yes i get that his performance was not flawless and being in tune is a basic that every performer/singer/ rapper should have. But since the judges vote occasionally for stage presence, stability and lifting up the groups spirit, i would have given him at least 1-2 stars for his shown potential. :(
I haven't started watching yet. Does it really have that much comedy??
yeah at this point it needs a comedy tag. :D after that epic trailer i was really looking forward to a monsterous, dark toned drama. Of course i like good comedy too if its fits the storyline. But here it would be better if it came in moderate portions and would highlight rather then define the group dynamic. :) nevertheless i am still really curious how its going to unfold. all other variables are on point like cinematography, effects, acting, cast, visuals and traditional chinese mythology setting. i am hopeful.
Well i am watching since i have a soft spot for survival shows. Who can say no to discovering new talent, taking back memory lane to all the good and old kpop/cpop songs, expieriencing growth, overcoming hardships, teambilding and friendship.
But since when is "youth with you" korean and feels like a sequel of the produce francise? The filming is in korea, korean judges, coaches and mcs, korean songs, spoken korean and only the broadcasting chanel/ production is chinese. It feels like the produce 101 team wrote the plot for this format and its foreign against korean trainees again. :(
I am not familiar with alll the trainees yet but i dont get it why Rex did not get at least 2 stars. He created atmosphere, he was stable and could rap. I had fun watching him. Yes i get that some trainees get the story line: from zero to hero. Maybe he will. And i also get that the keyeast model got screentime to advertise the label. We all know how it works.
After all these years, 100 survival shows later i am still waiting for a wholesome show (ok there was peaktime, or super band) that is not humiliating, obviously scripted to an extend that it is picture book like and u can predict all comments made by the "guides". Sry this turned into a little rant since the trailer for next episode left me speachless at first. It seems that they forcefully overwork them while they train and participate in the seasons group song challlenge, some collapse, some hyperventilate, on top they let them challenge all at once that increases angst. Some of the trainees finally stood up for them all, because they had to dance until every trainee is evaluated. Thats crazy to me. i know its scripted and lee seung gi had to say "do you not want to become an idol" but thats really harsh since i have not seen any trainee documentary or show where trainees werent evaluated one after another (in small groups maybe). Yes there is footage of excessive training camps and idols have to have physical strenght to go on tour and mangage packed scedules in debut years. But i dont see the need to make every new trainee survival show more angsty, humiliating, increase evil editing (especially of the foreign trainees) and come up with inhuman, intransparent elimanation rules/challenges.
Sry i need to let it out. I dont want to drop it since bae173 boys are there and i want to see them shine again. But please just let them all shine. I want beautyful performances, growth and friendship and no fights between nationalitys and coaches who play good and bad cop. But i have to admit Hui did a great job, i liked his comments and his presence was good vibes only to me. See you all next week. ;)
The story is inspired by the Classics of Mountains and Seas, which is a historical book written in the Han Dynasty…
Same here :) i want to study chinese at university from next year on. So chinese art, history. mythology and politics books are piling up here :D its something that fascinated me since childhood. :) Hope i find a english translation since my mandarin is not that good yet.
Yes i think everybody has this one drama which makes you join the MDL party. Welcome here. ;)
I haven't started watching yet. Does it really have that much comedy??
It was surprising for me too. First episode is not that comedic. But after all the characters got to know eachother and the team forming process started they added a lot of running gags. Cant decide yet if its too much for my taste or if i like it exactly because of the heavily implemented comedy elements. Definitely i expected something different. Hope the overall atmosphere swifts into angsty, dark and gloomy as the story progresses.

yes for me it makes it more meaningful. :) I personally like to discover other cultures. Thats the fun part. i think the characters are interesting, chinematography is well made and since the cgi in the trailer was outstanding for a cdrama i am anticipating it. Hope next episodes can hold up the good quality.
did u join MDL especially for Fang of fortunes? :)
cant help but the dancing ending credits make me happy. so random but who cares ;) I still dont know where it is going after watching all 3 episodes. They made me curious. I will keep watching for sure. In addition the humor is a plus too. Demon hunting crew is telling Zhao Yuan Zhou non stop that any animal could do better despite him being a demon lord. Could be a little darker for my taste but maybe it it will turn later on. Love the acting of Lin Zi Ye. Is my first drama watching him. Himself being in puberty vocal change also adds to the character. Realistic teenager vibes. Hou Ming Hao is growing on me :) Have not seen many of his works, but i love his expressions. Maybe i am becoming a fan. Memorable scene when he left the "demon" prison in ep. 1 and put everbody to sleep: "Mèng" "Bǎohù" "Mèng" "Do you like this meeting gift" ;) I felt it ;)
its still shelved in my watch list. So i dont know if the director prefers open endings. But u should put of ur answers in spoilers for people who want to check the drama out later ;)
u are not alone. :) i am looking forward to a dark, sad story line. If the trailer is actually a realistic portrayal…
yeah hopefully. :) i need a good portion of drama drama, suspence and betrayal. :) if there is dark comedy or good dialogs in between that would be a bonus ;)
Its my 1st GJM drama so i dont know what to expect. Would u recommend MJTY and Yin Yang Master?
I am on the hype train. I hope the story is coherent and not draggy. :) I am really looking forward to this cast and their synergy. :) Sad ending or good ending dosent matter to me. Hope the journey is beautyful. The cinematography of the trailer impressed me. Did not read the original work. Is there one? So i really have no expectations. But i hope its dark dark over all. Happy watching you all <3
Even if it doesn’t have a happy ending and many characters are lost, if the story have good plot and clear explanations…
u are not alone. :) i am looking forward to a dark, sad story line. If the trailer is actually a realistic portrayal of the actual dramas atmosphare and story. whoop whoop.
