This show is a gem, well produced, friendly competition (well i wouldn't need eliminations until the second last episode) great shows, great songs, great variety, top cast and subbed on youtube. Yeah i am waiting for you all to catch up. ;)

@Neptune Exactly. :) I think at this point he is still fighting all seven of them. I also dont see him as the 2nd ML (in a lovetriangle kind of way) since at least in the mortal realm his actions and even protecting NXY are not because of love. In my opion he kind of idolizes and idealizes her as his one and only chance to get a "little affection". And his obsession is about possession against his inner knowledge that they are not ment to be. Watching him being in continual conversation with oneself, questioning his perception of the world while asking self-exposing questions his obsession driven actions feel kind of out of character. And the desire of possession as an act of aggression is the absence of love.
His inner torture will find its climax in self-flagellation. Thats what makes him so pityful.
Even so he is wise and self reflected he does not know what love is and is not able to love. He sees how lived love is translated into actions (between XXC and NXY) but he never felt it himself. He thinks only sacrificing everthing thats left of him will bring him near the expierience of it. But thats completely selfcentered and egoistic. His self declared mission to protect NXY is not to save her but rather he does it to feel somthing similar to love.
Well at least thats how it appears to me. (havent read the novel)

Cant get dark enough for me though ;) thats what i love about xianxia storytelling: love trails, life-and death trails and eternal clamity, showing their destiny, how characters are formed through past lifes and that character traits are neither all good nor all bad.
That personal hardships, trauma, abuse, dif relationships and absence of parents/ trusted beloved person can have a big impact on life decisions and character development.

NXY is saying himself that he is a bad person, not hiding it from himself, his desciple, his friend XXC or his obsession NXY. Knowing its not love he is feeling and that he can not expect it anyway. Knowing he choose the bad path and can not expect to be loved. Giving in and letting go of his good traits to live his obsession torturing himself since he knows it will not end in true love. Since his life was full of both betrayal and torture before in addition to being crippled he thinks thats what he deserves. Whats sad because he only wants to be loved once.

truth spoken ;) i find myself skipping through sideplots or recaps/ flashbacks that u dont need when u bindgewatch or watch it when it airs. But until now (ep. 21) i never skipped a single part. I am totally drawn into it. Dont remember when that happend to me the the last time? Ever? I think i also didnt skip through "Till the end of the moon" or first time "The untamed"? this director is truly good at storytelling i think. I only watched "Back from the brink " with him as a director and now i am even more sad that "immortality" will never see the light. Looking even more foreward to "Pull strings" with Sun zhen ni and Ao Rui Peng as mains. :)

wow i am not alone. :) i have been afraid that i would draw hate. But i am a true Bai lu fangirl. I am watching even so i wished it would be less colorful and the costumes less cartoonish (i dont know how to describe it better). I am not a native speaker. ;) thank u for ur response.
But i think u really should give it a try. The actors are adorable and the main couple with bai lu and ao rui peng is going to be cute. ;) its fantasy after all. i saw someone commenting something like: why is every man acting with bai lu getting even more attractive. I think its true though. :) its always a good coupleing, chemestry and the kissing makes u feel watching should be forbitten :D

Its not draggy, my eyes are glued to the screen and i hope while watching an episode it will never end (checking from time to time how many minutes are left, being sad if half of the episode has run already). Ok lets be real i am a little obsessed.

I loved Sun Zhen Ni in TTEOTM and I am all in for xianxia/ demon realm/ revenge trope/ eternal stuff. So i gave it a try even its overlapping with Moonlight Mystique and watching 2 airing cdramas at the same time being a hustle. But this gem is constantly exceeding my expectations. Its so well produced. I dont know the original webnovel and cant compare the execution of the characters or main plot. But starting from set design (i am living for the easthetic arrangement of the cool tones), over costumes, the play with shadows, fancy cultivation CGI and shots/camera movement/lighting everything is well executed. The actors are all nailing it and creating a captivating atmosphere. I am invested in all of them. The ships are sailing. Until now not one single Bin Bin drama captivated me and i never focused that much on Wang Duo. But holy moly. I think starting now i cant live without them. :D

Half of the drama aired and now it feels like its going to get dark. I dont mind a Sad ending or Happy ending. I just dont want it to end at all. The chemestry of the main and sub cast is great. And i have to admit that i enjoy it much more than Moonlight Mystique. Maybe as a Bai Lu fan i had too much expectations but i dont know the production (set design, costumes mostly) is not for me and a nuance to colorful/ too many primarys in one shot (never thought i would ever say that). My eyes are constantly overstimulated. Maybe its just me. ;)

Cant wait for tomorrows episode. I just love every character/ character development. I like that the lines are blurry, they show multiple sides, inner conflicts and both male leads disarming honesty (even though they sometimes keep quiet about the truth).

:) yes ep 1-2 has at least 2 of them. ;) they are family members. i really love to see them. since call me by fire season 1 hanyu has a special place in my heart. :D

same here only kdrama im enjoying lately. love mr park /o mal sun / o duri combination. Sad it only has 12 episodes. its a serotonin boost for me. Love the cast. Humor is on point :) will enjoy every minute of it.
