The scenes between the emperor and ML are so tense. It’s like watching a ticking bomb that will explode at any second.

Tbh I feel like the emperor already knows about ML & FL’s relationship, but is pretending not to.

I don’t want to imagine what will happen to them once he finds out. It won’t be pretty.


And when ML was in the carriage after he left the Deer residence in ep 25, his gaze was so intense, the anger in his eyes. What’s he planning to do next, doesn’t seem good.

Why was ML’s outer shirt unbuttoned during the boat scene at the beginning of ep 26? We’re they implying that they slept together? Did anyone else notice that?

I usually love the comedy but I was too scarred from the stabbing to even laugh. sheesh

and please someone tell me, why would FL go wandering off when the emperor is already so suspicious of her? What was her plan if she got caught? Nows not the time to throw logic out of the window. They should’ve formulated a solid plan to pretend to not be a thing, while they make a better plan to escape. But I guess they said screw it, and just got back together.

and I think the emperor knows at this point, but he’s pretending not to. especially when FL lost the necklace he gave her. I don’t think he bought her excuse at all.

I searched so long but could never find if he used his real voice or not in TRL. I really thought I was him too, but I don’t speak Chinese or mandarin so I couldn’t tell.

I liked him as Qi Xiao in The Rational Life. His acting was perfect for the character. That’s one of my favorite dramas.

tbh that's what made me like dylan wang's acting so much. in all his drama's eyes are so emotive, which lets him convey so much w/o saying anything. His close up scenes, where they zoom in on his eyes, are always so well done. Compared to the other dramas I've seen with younger actors, he stands out the most to me. I think he'll go far.

such a good point. I completely overlooked QS’s plain clothes while at home, but I remember feeling more drawn to her character when she was like that. for me, that’s what made me keep watching, because I wanted to learn who that person was.

I couldn’t relate to the over the top, confident QS at all, and maybe it left me feeling strange. almost like, there won’t be much substance to FL, besides her pretty clothes. But I like the connection you made between the two version of FL, and her apartment reflecting that.

I’m actually taking your analysis and running with it. tbh I hope her character develops similar to what you wrote. That would be very interesting.
