Maybe I’ve watched too many dramas but felt it changing as soon as they introduced Qian Qian’s character around ep 12.
I thought Chang Yu being poor, and Yan Zheng finding creative ways to help them make ends meet was much more interesting and they could’ve kept that going for a while. Because that was one of the best parts, she’s too poor to support him but tried her best.
Then suddenly she meets Qian Qian and has all this money. So they lost that plot line all together.
That’s when it changed for me. I know it was based on the book so they had to follow the basic plot but man, the village life was so refreshing and hopeful. It was a good comfort drama to watch back then. That’s why the world collectively binged watched it. We all found comfort in it.
Then it got so chaotic and stressful. It lost me. But I still love POJ.
Been on episode 38 for over a week now. lol. I savored the binge, took my time. I am DRRRRAAAAAGING ending this.…
I did the same thing. Got to episode 28 a month ago. Then I just kept restarting the drama, finding it just as entertaining. So many small details I missed, and I savored the days when they were in Linan! I finally finished the full series today, a month later, and it was worth it. What a great ending!
The official mbc website has it but it’s region locked, you’d need a vpn to watch.
Yeah, pacing wise the movie moved way too fast. It was kind of hard to follow at times.
I suspect they were trying to cram a lot into the film, since it’s based on a book. So my main gripe was the director, but overall I liked it.

The way I understood the ending was that some of ML’s true essence was stored in the Snowy Rosa. So when FL planted it, he reappeared.
If you rewatch the first episode, he used a spell on the Snowy Rosa to bring it back to life.
My guess is that ML had to use his true essence to activate the spell, thus storing it in the flower.
If not, then darn it, the writers broke my heart 😢
I can’t stop laughing while imagining that.
someone should make an edit of this for sure
since there’s a previous scene of ML and FL on a horse together, when they snuck out of mausoleum. Use that for the sunset ending 😂
